Even though they are about the same age, Cervelli doesn't have the track record or offensive numbers that Luc has put up. Really only one year (last year) as a full time player. But he seems like he gave up some cash. The MLB Trade Rumors guys had predicted a 3-year/$39M deal this off season - assuming he continued to produce all year. Still a nice deal for a guy who was considered a back up two years ago.

The Braves are terrible, and the constant rumors probably aren't what the club wants - even if the team knows the club stinks. AAA manager Brian Snitker was named interim manager, and is expected to helm the club the rest of the season.

Okay, I've got 11 affirmative replies. With myself, that should give us enough voters to make this work okay. I think making it a Top 10 is not a bad idea. We just have to start earlier, so we won't have as much information about what's going on with teams. I also want to avoid voting on weekends and Memorial Day - so we'll start in about a week. Man, what happened to Tyrone Taylor. He's hitting .197 - no power, poor walk rate, strike outs way up. I heard he was working on his batting stance early on, but I'm not sure if that's true. Perhaps this is him experimenting. I guess I'd like to hear what people who have watched his games have to say.

Would people be interested in doing a community Mock Draft of the first five picks (essentially up to, and including, the Brewers)? The idea would be that a week before the draft, we let anyone interested in playing along post their first pick (the idea being who you think the Phillies will take - not who you want them to take, or who you think is the best pick). We take votes for a day, and whatever player is voted for the most, gets slotted as the #1 pick. You then open up the board for the 2nd pick in the draft - that goes for a day, then onto the 3rd pick the next day, etc., until the Brewers make a pick - the 5th in the draft. Five days - one pick a day. Done. Nothing else. After that, I'd just pack it up and be done. While it might be fun to do more, not that many people get that far into the weeds about the amateur draft. The cool part is that it's short - just five picks - and everyone gets to participate every round. And it only takes a second to hop online and cast your ballot for that day. if a person misses a day, no big deal. And there's really not a big amount of housekeeping to do this. I could just start a new thread, provide links to the various mock drafts, and then update the picks as we go. Obviously, we need more than just a few people to do this. If we could get 10+ people, that would make it kind of interesting. If you want to play along, just reply to this thread with an affirmative of some kind. If someone has a different idea and wants to run something, go for it.

Yeah, I was going to say the same thing. He looks lost the last few games.

I love watching brewer games, but the last two games make me want to bang my head against the wall. So many chances.

And if he's on 2nd with one out he's got two chances to score on a hit. To me it was foolish to risk an out for the chance you get to 3rd.

Our team batting average with runners in scoring position has got to be brutal these past few games.

Santana has looked kind of lost at times this year. Almost disinterested. I didn't feel that way last season. I wonder if he's afraid of making mistakes or something. And Peralta is just awful looking.
