  1. I don't know much about Dillon, but I see his draft rankings ranged from about 90-140. I'm guessing the team really liked him - and felt someone else would take him before we picked in the 3rd. But it's hard not to see him as a reach. But again, the team probably felt he wouldn't be there later on. Otherwise, it seems like Baun or Jones or Logan Wilson would have been really good value - and would fill a big need. Jordan Elliot would have been a really nice value as well.
  2. Last night was the first time I've ever watched the draft. Usually I kind of half follow it as it's going on, checking in every half hour or so. I remember watching the first NFL draft back in 1980. I was a teenager, and we had the day off from school. I can't remember why - it was too late for Easter break, but Tuesday - the day of the draft - was sometimes an 'in-service day' or whatever they were called - and we'd be off from school. I remember my brother and I putting it on and watching it while we did other stuff. I literally can't remember much about it. Otherwise, in the late 80s, my friend and I turned the draft into a drinking fest. We had a beautiful day one year (like shorts and a t-shirt day - rare for April), and my friend said it was time for summer - and proceeded to make a giant pitcher of vodka and lemonade. We then wrote out our predictions and sat there and drank and chatted and watched the draft (usually the first day was all). It became our schtick for about five years - vodka and lemonades on draft day - even if the weather stunk. Now, I don't watch anything. I just follow it while I do other work. Last night I was editing some audio for work. I'd work for a while - then go check up on the draft. Then back to work and so forth.
  3. If the club thinks that Rodgers doesn't have that many years left, then kudos to them for being bold with their planning. Love can spend a couple of years learning the system and understanding what he needs to do - and then we can move on from Aaron. Of course, Rodgers says he wants to finish out his contract (four more years) and maybe longer. I guess we will see what happens. To me, one of the big questions is just how much Rodgers has slipped as a player. His numbers have been down, and he doesn't look as good as in the past. However, how much of that is a lack of support in the receiving game. I'm guessing it's a combination of both lesser players and diminishing skills. But hey, we won 13 games last year. Yes, we had some luck, but that's not easy to do in the NFL. I honestly don't think there's a 'right' answer to all of this. Adding Love is a bold and long term decision AND adding Love means we don't add another player who could help us immediately (or players since we sent our 4th away in the trade). Those things are both legitimate scenarios. I think it's okay to be frustrated by the move - and/or heartened by it. There's nothing wrong with that.
  4. I think you can still get some very good players in the 2nd and 3rd round. RB or WR or OL are pretty stacked with some quality guys. OT: Cleveland, Jones, RB: Swift, Taylor, Dobbins WR/TE: Higgins, Mims, Pittman, Kmet, Shenault, Claypool Defensive side has Baun and McKinney and a bunch of DL and DBs I don't know that much about. Lots of good players.
  5. Queen to Baltimore.
  6. Tennessee? Otherwise, there were probably rumblings someone else was going to make the move.
  7. What did we give up to move up three spots?
  8. We might love this pick in five years. But now - not so much. Especially with the talent on the board. Oh well. I will say that it's harder and harder for a guy to last a full season in his league. We've gone cheap on backup QBs for a long time. Now we are set for a while.
  9. Now we get to endure a million articles about Aaron Rodgers being upset that the packers don't want him, blah, blah, blah. Man. I have nothing against Jordon Love - just didn't want the capital spent here.
  10. Yes, please.
  11. I could live with this.
  12. Watch Baltimore move up one spot by giving their 4th to Seattle - which is several higher than ours.
  13. Ruiz was a guy liked a lot as well. I would have been happy with him - even if the need wasn't that big.
  14. Quite a few. http://forum.brewerfan.net/viewtopic.php?p=1296678#p1296678 yeah, but does that guy know what he's talking about
  15. Be a nice spot for us to get Queen if NO is willing.
  16. Thought the Pats could have gotten a bit more than a 3rd to drop down 14 slots.
  17. Murray gone. Two of my favs in the last two picks.
  18. Anyone have any thoughts on OT Ezra Cleveland?
  19. Stream Im watching calls Reager a new Desean Jackson for Philly. Was a guy mocked to GB often, so we're about 3names below 29 taken above. I'd seen a couple of mocks have him to GB. But most didn't have him until the 2nd round. So this is a little early. Especially with Jefferson still on the board.
  20. You realize we will probably get to our pick - have a guy we really want - and end up trading down and not even get to pick tonight...
  21. Reagor is gone. Very interesting
  22. I saw him mid 2nd. But hey, if they like him - that's good for them. I remember last year Savage was seen as a bit of a reach - but we liked the guy, and he wasn't going to last to us. So Gute got him.
  23. Jackson and Arnette going is sweet. I liked Jackson a lot due to his upside - but I worry about him needing time to mature - so I prefer other guys if you go offensive line.
