  1. I think Jefferson and at least one of the LBs (Queen, Murray) and Jefferson will be gone by 22.
  2. Lamb to Dallas. Great value for them.
  3. AJ Terrell. Wow. That's good for us.
  4. When you have a talented club you can afford to be versatile with your pick. Don't have to focus on one need or whatever. Let's you be able to move around and still be happy. Good management (and some luck).
  5. This was a surprise. Might let Jefferson drop more than anticipated...
  6. A bunch of the NFL.com final mocks have the Packers taking Aiyuk. One had them taking Murray - at #27 - by sending our 30th and 4th to Seattle.
  7. This site does some of those things - but not all: https://www.worldometers.info/coronavirus/country/us/
  8. I'd seen Brooks listed as a 2nd rounder for GB in other Mocks. But not 1st - for any team.
  9. Some picks are just weird. I saw one with the Packers taking Jordyn Brooks, ILB, Texas Tech in the first round. The guy was their 134th ranked player in the draft - and then they had us taking him at 30. They said he was a 'moving up boards'. Just weird.
  10. This morning, I asked wife how many COVID test her organization can run in a day - with the supplies they have. She said a couple of hundred. She said they could run many, many thousands if they had the supplies to do so. But they just don't. They are trying to coordinate with state and federal officials for a steady flow. Nothing yet - but let's hope soon. This is why politicians are saying the state 'can' run 50,000 tests (or whatever number they use) per day - but the reality is much lower - at least for some healthcare systems. The good news is that supplies are reaching some places. The Mayo Clinic reportedly can do lots of testing - but as a federal research partner, they have access to a lot more resources.
  11. Yes I think that's what the antibody testing is. My wife can get that through her work (she's at a research hospital and they want to do it as part of a study). Yep, antibody testing will let you know if someone has had an infection, but does not give insight into if that person is currently infected. There's also a 7-14 day delay before the body starts making antibodies, so it will not detect a new infection. Thanks for the reply.
  12. Question: can you test someone and find out if they ever had the virus (this is assuming the person does not actually have COVID at the time of testing)? Just wondering if anyone knew this answer.
  13. On thing regarding trading up - it doesn't have to be a huge move. Example: Let's say the club wants ILB Kenneth Murray and he's available around 26 or 27. But there's a really good chance Baltimore will take him at 28. Well, a jump like that is the kind of move we could make - give up a 4th rounder along with our 1st or something like that to move up 3-4 spots. It all depends if it's a guy the club loves - and they don't think he'll last. All that said, I think trading down is a good strategy. Just have to find the right partner(s).
  14. I'm seeing WR Brandon Aiyuk, ASU, popping up as the Packers #1 pick on several mocks. Jalen Reagor, WR, TCU, is also showing up here and there. Obviously, other guys in the mix if we want a WR, including Mims and Higgins. Justin Jefferson looks like he'll be gone - so would require a trade up. Pittman seems a bit of a reach at #30. Same with Laviska Shenault.
  15. The Athletic said that the Packers crave an ILB (Murray or Queen) or an offensive tackle (they mention Josh Jones, Ezra Cleveland and Austin Jackson as possibilities). And that they might trade up if there is someone that they really like. You also might see the Packers trade up in the 2nd round depending on the WR situation. There's a host of good WRs that are 1st round talents that could drop into the 2nd round (such as Mims, Aiyuk, Higgins). A lot of people seem convinced that Gutekunst is willing to wheel and deal. Should be interesting.
  16. I saw a mock that had the Packers taking Biadasz... in the first round. I saw Biadasz in the first round early on in several mocks, but he has steadily slid down. I think he just didn't wow anyone at the combine, and he's seen more as a 'safe' pick without a lot of upside. Most drafts I see him at now are in the 3rd round.
  17. I realize this is likely one of those cases where if you have to ask the question, you don't want to know the answer...but why would the feds do this? Things get diverted to areas of high need. It's understandable - but frustrating.
  18. This is especially true if the expected influx isn't as bad as they expected. Let's hope things can open up more. With regards to testing, the big question is do we have the supplies to actually run 7,500 tests (or whatever is the number)? I mean, we might have the labs and facilities all set to run 7,500 tests - and I can say I can run 7,500 tests - but if we don't have swabs and reagents - that number is meaningless. I know the supplies has been the big issue for my wife's organization. However, we are not in a hotspot, so it might simply be a bigger issue because we don't need them like other areas. Let's hope our capacity keeps growing. This is the kind of thing everyone has been working at virtually every level since day 1 of this thing. It is really only a matter of time for this stuff to happen. Obviously, we want it earlier than later.
  19. All right, here's the picks - assuming no trades: #1 (30) - Kenneth Murray, LB, Oklahoma or Patrick Queen, LB, LSU Either would transform the team - and if Christian Kirksey can stay healthy, it would make for a dynamic linebacking corps. #2 (62) - Laviska Shenault, WR, Colorado or Cole Kmet, TE, Notre Dame Big, powerful wide out with a lot of upside (but still raw), or the best TE in the draft. Either would work well. #3 (94) - Tyler Biadasz, IOL, Wisconsin Nice to have a Badger on the team. Biadasz could start as rookie. Probably not a ton of upside on him, but he'd contribute immediately. There's a good chance (more than likely) all my guys are gone by the time we pick. But we have to operate on a little faith.
  20. I can only talk for my wife's organization - but if they had a lot more testing, they would be doing more (or in the stages of rolling out more services). No one is stopping them. The lack of testing is what is stopping them. They have plans in place to start doing more procedures and services - prioritizing what types of things go first, what goes, second, etc. Almost all of this relies on getting more testing in place. But who knows, maybe - at some point - it will be decided that having testing for everyone isn't necessary. It all comes down to safety - for the providers and patients. I've said this a couple of other times - COVID is so very different than other viruses because a person can have it and not display any symptoms. This is so huge. This is why 're-opening' the economy isn't the same for every industry. But for healthcare - it's critical. A doctor or nurse or technician comes into contact with so many people in the course of a day. They touch their face, put their fingers into their mouth, draw blood or handle urine samples, etc., etc. Most jobs don't have this kind of contact, which is - again - why healthcare environments are so dangerous in this kind of situation.
  21. I said this before, but the biggest issue is that they can't test everyone like they need to test. Are the hospitals blaming the 'stay at home' order for this? I don't doubt that. But the reason we have to continue this thing is that the hospital systems don't have the testing capacity that they need. I know this because my wife has to hear this - and deal with it - every single day. Everyday, the big question is about how many people can they test. If they can test more, they can start doing more. And the biggest reason they can't test is that they don't have the supplies to do it. Again, I hear this from my wife everyday. All the hospitals and clinics are prepared for an influx of patients with regard to testing, and the immediate professionals who must treat them. But the capacity to test - after those necessities - is limited. Healthcare professionals are being furloughed because it is not safe for them to do their job. Increase the capacity for testing - for the workers and the patients - and that will change. History has shown that in situations like this, hospitals and clinics are one of the most dangerous places to be. Frankly, you would be insane to send your mother or child or whomever to a hospital without knowing all the professionals involved in your loved ones care was free of COVID. Remember, COVID does not have to display any symptoms. Thus a nurse or doctor - if not tested - could have the virus - and go on to treat dozens of people (many who are sick or vulnerable) in a single day. That's exactly how you get outbreaks. I would also like to add that there are nurses and doctors and other healthcare people who refuse to work without testing. It's a crazy situation. We know a doctor who is working. His wife has undergone chemo a couple of times in the last year - making her extremely vulnerable to COVID. He goes home at night and talks to her between a plastic sheet. He has a room in the basement blocked off from the rest of the house, where he has his computer and TV and bed. He can't risk bringing anything home. COVID would kill his wife. No matter what, I wish everyone well.
  22. I've seen Jefferson's name linked to the Packers on several mock drafts - but all of them would require us to trade up. I could see the Packers trading up - or even down - in this draft. It will be interesting.
  23. I would kill for Isaiah Simmons. But he's not going to be there. Same goes for WRs Jerry Jeudy and CeeDee Lamb. Ruggs is pretty much in this bucket as well. WR Justin Jefferson would be sweet, but he probably won't be there. Same goes for LB Patrick Queen. Would love both. LB Kenneth Murray would be a great add if he drops. Most mocks don't have him making it past Baltimore a couple of picks before us. OT Mekhi Becton is an interesting name that is projected more in the 10-20 range, but had a failed drug test at the combine. Not sure of the story behind it, but it might cause him to drop. If the team is comfortable with him - he would be a steal if he dropped. I've seen WRs Denzel Mims and Tee Higgins for GB. One should be there. Laviska Shenault is another WR the Packers supposedly like, but he's more of a 2nd round pick. OT Josh Jones may drop to us. He would be a nice value.
  24. Very rarely - if ever - have I seen Queen lasting to the Packers at #30. I think it's a given we'd be interested in him if he lasted that long.
