  1. Oh yeah, Perez is throwing a No Hitter.
  2. The Brewers look like a team just playing out the season today.
  3. It's nice to hear a TV announcer who has done some homework. When the Reds were batting, the Red announcers were talking about Cory Hart and George Grande mentioned that Hart played first in the minors, then 3rd base, then the corner outfield spots and only a handful of games in CF, but the Brewers needed to add some punch to their lineup so... Most TV announcers probably wouldn't had even known that.
  4. Not quite a hit, but at least the Brewers were able to score a run.
  5. It worked once, so let's try this again. The Brewers can't get a hit with men in scoring position. Not a chance, impossible.
  6. The Brewers getting no hit by Ramon Ortiz thus far despite the league batting .320 agaisnt him is shaking my good mojo feelings. There is that silly rule about jinxing a pitcher by mentioning he is throwing a no hitter, but what the heck. Ramon Ortiz is throwing a no hitter. Let the hits begin.
  7. Good mojo baby, good mojo. I can feel it.
  8. I'm getting the feed just in time, good mojo is back. I feel a win coming tonight, just a feeling.
  9. That good mojo is not getting off to a good start because for whatever reason I am not getting a feed for the game from the MLB extra innings package. Every game is coming in fine, except of course the Brewers game.
  10. I'm not good with the lineups as well, but I'll put out the lineups. I'm lisening to "Good Times" by Chic in an attempt to get some good mojo started for tonights game. F. Lopez SS .276 R. Freel 2B .287 K. Griffey Jr. CF .283 A. Dunn LF .259 S. Casey 1B .315 A. Kearns RF .241 J. Valentin C .288 R. Aurilia 3B .259 R. Ortiz P .118 R. Weeks 2B .264 J. Hardy SS .209 L. Overbay 1B .281 C. Lee LF .271 G. Jenkins RF .290 B. Hall 3B .268 D. Miller C .263 C. Magruder CF .225 T. Ohka P .147
  11. I was just about to write that is was a dumb move to bunt, especially when you had MaGruder batting, but... Yost can say after the game that they battled.
  12. Time for Lee to get the Brewers on the scoreboard.
  13. Just before the Weeks hit the Cardinals announcers were already pretty much packing things in as a victory. "Ben Sheets is going to call his mom and tell her I have some good news and bad news, the good news I pitched a one hitter, the bad news I lost 1-0" Hopefully they will be proved wrong. Hopefully.
  14. Early on, the Cardinals announcers mentioned how Yost said in the beginning of the series how the Brewers could play with the Cardinals and then added how the Brewers couldn't beat Memphis (Cardinals AAA team) last night. Might be the same type of deal today.
  15. I live outside the State of Wisconsin and have the MLB package, which is showing the game. One of the advantages of living outside the State and following the Brewers is that I get to see more of their games on TV.
  16. The Good: I get to see the game on tv today. The Bad: It's because I am feeling pretty sick and couldn't make it to work today. Hopefully the Brewers will help me feel better today. Most likely will be a low scoring game, but it would be nice if Sheets is on his game today and the Brewers can finally score a bunch of runs agaisnt Suppan or just score a bunch of runs period.
  17. If the Brewers are unable to beat St. Louis mostly B teamers, then there really can't be any serious discussions about making the playoffs.
  18. If people really want to watch the game, it will be shown on MLB.COM, Living outside the State of Wisconsin, I get to see most of the Brewer games. I seem to remember reading somewhere that the Brewers have the fewest or one of lowest amount of games that are televised on TV. Thanks to a contract signed with FSN in 2003. From 2003, "Under the current contract, FSN has paid the Brewers $2.6 million a year for the rights to the games, according to Broadcasting & Cable, a television trade magazine. Both sides said the new contract is for more years than the current contract, which was for six years and expires after this season. Under terms of the new deal, FSN has the option of televising as many as 140 games each season over the length of the contract. FSN is obligated to televise at least 115 Brewers games each season." Also, there are a number of teams which have their weekday day games televised, of course the Brewer aren't one of them, Anyway, as far as which games aren't choosen and why, there is from a 2004 JSONLINE article, "In February, when the club and FSN were deciding which 47 games of the 162-game schedule not to televise, weekday games with afternoon starts were the chief places to start, as they always have been. "When you start getting out of prime time or fringe, your hut levels (households using television) really drop off and your viewership really drops off," said Jim Dimond, vice president and general manager of Fox Sports Net North. "In order to maximize the viewing audience, you need to get them into that prime-time window." Any weekday afternoon game telecast is destined to deliver a low rating, even if it involves the Cubs, because many people are at work and not watching television. Dimond said FSN would continue to avoid putting weekday afternoon games on its TV schedule, even if those games are against the Cubs. Other categories of games considered expendable are Sundays in September, when the Green Bay Packers play, as well as Saturday and Sunday dates in June, July and August (day or night) when people are outside enjoying the weather or otherwise not watching television. The Brewers' contract with FSN calls for FSN to carry at least 115 games each season, but it could carry as many as 140 if it wanted. Last year, when games were on both cable and over-the-air, 130 games were televised in the local market. This year, all 115 are on cable. Dimond left open the possibility that FSN might carry more than 115 games next season, but he said it was contingent on how successful the team was this year. "The short answer is yes, we'd leave open the possibility," Dimond said. FSN also has the option to put some games on over-the-air, but will do so only if it makes economic sense. If FSN decided to offer some games on over-the air, it would buy time on a local station and sell ads to cover the cost of the air and the production. If it can't make money in that arrangement, it's not likely to offer any games on over-the-air"
  19. I checked the Extra Innings schedule online and didn't see the game listed there as well. If anyone is at home and has the extra innings package, they can double check to see if it has been added or not.
  20. Nice outing by Turnbow as I know he must be feeling a bit tired after having to pitch 3 straight days.
  21. Just one more and Wise is not warming up, but De La Rosa is.
  22. Turnbow seem to be throwing hard, but there doesn't seem to be much movement on his fastballs today.
  23. Wise better be almost ready.
  24. Okay, the scoreless streak has to come to an end, so I'll ask the question, What is the team record for most innings without scoring a run.
  25. Isn't Wes Helms something like 13 for 26 as a pinch hitter, which would make him about a .210 hitter this year in all other situations. Here's the real stat, coming into today's game, Helms was hitting .182 in the 7th slot, but over .300 in the 6th and 8th slots.
