  1. If we win it all, the greatest accomplishment by any professional organization in the history of sports..... Better than that English soccer team a couple years ago.... Better than the 1980 Miracle on Ice No salary cap, smallest market in baseball, lowest payroll, new gm, using pickups and everybody's leftovers during a rebuild nonetheless... We win, we blow up sports. Quite the upside....
  2. I haven't watched the end of the game...but that seems silly if Aguilar was available. Lefty/righty matchup. For his career, Aguilar (smallish sample) has an OPS of .707 vs RHP, Vogt has a career OPS of .750 vs RHP. Statistically, it was slightly better to go with Vogt. How about this year?
  3. I haven't watched the end of the game...but that seems silly if Aguilar was available. Question of the day.... Aguilar leads the lead in pinch hits, has power.... ????
  4. Scooter here= no Sogard here
  5. His bat actually is surprising me... a little power, .250 hitter at a young age... He is getting more and more adjusted to the pitching, which is exciting. He may be an All Star in a couple of years. Defensively, he is making a lot of good/great plays, yet the drops at 2nd are concerning and overlooked often by BA/Schroeder. They talked about Gold Glove SS defense this weekend, yet he had errors in two of the games. Let's not jump the gun.
  6. In his last start, Anderson got his first Sacrifice Bunt in about a year.
  7. As Stearns gets his A grade this offseason and season, Doug Melvin's last moves are playing big this year and into the future:Yo for Knebel and Gomez and Fiers for Santana, Hader, Phillips, (House). He made some quality trades that are clear wins for us. He is also busy working in the minors, trying to help Stearns and the Brewers get back to the playoffs. How many guys are humble enough to stay with team and fill a role after being GM? Thankful for his service to this organization.
  8. Pitching to the record? This isn't like Villar getting the SB title and stealing bases when it is unwise. And he isn't in games that are blowouts, trying to get a K and risking walks. He is in with the game on the line and the K is his best friend. With strikeouts, there is no need to rely on defense, except catcher. Bloop hits don't happen on strikeouts either. I hear what your saying respectfully, but Knebel isn't in situations that would warrant to primarily pitch to contact.
  9. Knebel has 58 K's in 32 1/3 innings, that's 16.1 K's per 9 innings. That ranks 3rd in the majors for all guys with at least 20 IP. His WHIP is under one and his ERA is barely above 1. He blew of few saves, but didn't lose any of those games. My comment was IF the team were chosen today, he'd be a lock and I stand by that. If the Brewers only get one representative, Knebel's the guy hands down. No way a lock when this board is split on those 4 guys.
  10. Not sure why Knebel is a lock..... blowing three saves is big even though he has been very good. No locks, but Shaw, Knebel, Anderson, and Thames are the possibles.
  11. 40 man? Big deal. Could easily take 5 to 6 guys off it without a second thought.
  12. If Hader is helping us in the pen, why not include our 2016 minor league pitcher of the year, as well? He throws gas, strikes out a bunch (most in the minors last season), walks many less than Hader, and is an upgrade for the bullpen. The only reason I see him staying in AAA is that he is now our next back-up in the rotation. He could have just leapfrogged Espino.
  13. Interesting ones that stand out Mariners 23% to make playoffs Angels 5% to make playoffs. They are tied in 2nd place. I know Trout is out, but is Seattle that much better? Mets at 12% (Brew at 10%). Cards at 32% Rockies at 82%. Dodgers at 99% (really?). Arizona 63%.... these 3 are going to beat up on each other. It will be tough to have all of these teams win 90 plus games. At these odds, I'll put my $2 on the Angels to make the playoffs and the Dodgers to not.
  14. http://www.fangraphs.com/coolstandings.aspx Fangraphs has our odds of making the playoffs at 10%.... Cubs 83%....
  15. Thames hasn't been horrible..... a few bad plays, sure. He should get out of the this game and take tomorrow off, along with no game Mon. We need his pop and ability to get on base.
  16. Trapped in Paradise... Nicolas Cage, Dana Carvey, Jon Lovitz. One of my favorite Christmas comedies. They rob a bank and get trapped by a snowstorm in the same town.
  17. I didn't realize he weighed that much more this season...
  18. Yes!!!!! Big games here against a possible Wild Card contender....
  19. Just looking thru Brewers stats on At Bat app..... A bunch of stats jumped out at me, specifically ones that haven't been discussed much. Here goes... Hernan Perez has 2 SB this year. He had 34 last season. What gives? Aguilar's numbers are pretty good.... 280 avg. 869 OPS., 5 HR in limited ABs. We would be praising him more if Thames wasn't here. He hits third often for a reason. Six countem Brewers pitchers have saves this year- Felix, Barnes, Knebel, Milone, Torres, and Hughes. It's June 9. Six pitchers have more than 23 appearances. It's June 9. Wow! Any others jump out to you?
  20. Hader walks a lot of hitters.... nice that he's up, but eh, we'll see. Hopefully, he's lights out and ends up starting big games for us down the stretch. If he starts this year and does well, fans will start to believe.
