  1. How did you survive before HDTV? http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif I had a guy from India or somewhere similar one time with Cingular. Had to ask the guy to repeat everything he said three times. Sorry, but there comes a point when the savings of having call centers in third world countries isn't worth it because people get annoyed that they can't understand a thing the tech is saying, calls take three times as long as they should, and people end up dropping the carrier because they are not happy with certain problems they can't get fixed. Get people that know what they're talking about that speak English.
  2. I generally don't answer the incoming call if I'm already talking to someone, unless it's a call that I was expecting and/or need to answer. When I do need to talk to that other person, I'll either end the call I'm on straight up or tell the person I have another call I need to take and I'll call them back. Isn't that generally caused by having hard water, rather than being a defect of the soap? What if you don't have paid sick days and need to pay the bills?
  3. I HATE corporate sponsorship of sports. I understand it's almost necessary to compete nowadays, but it still bugs the heck out of me. I hate seeing stadiums named after banks, internet companies, and the like, and seeing ads plastered all over everything at games. Miller Park doesn't bug me since it is a part of Milwaukee's past and present, but I don't want to see the Bucks playing in the Hewlett-Packard Arena someday.
  4. I can see this if you're going to a night game and you come after work, but otherwise, I agree. Totally inexcusable.
  5. Totally agree. I love it when I can't buy a ticket to a sold out game because it happens to be a bobblehead day, and yet half the terrace is empty because some [i won't even write it because it will get deleted] came just for the bobbleheads. And then they put them all up on ebay within an hour. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/mad.gif
  6. The Brewers are undefeated in every game I've attended this year. I think the organization should send me a set of free season tickets. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/happy.gif
  7. All from my trip to an unnamed store to buy a tire pressure guage today: - people who get off the highway in the far left lane, and then proceed to cut over three lanes just before they need to turn because they were too stupid to start out in the correct lane. Then when you throw up your arms in disgust because they cut off, she lifts up her arm like "What did I do wrong?" You know exactly what you did wrong you stupid [insert string of expletives for a bad woman driver here]. - people who practically crawl down the aisles of stores with their carts because they apparently have nothing better to do than spend all day at the store. - stores that don't have enough lanes open on a weekend, when the lines are always at least four or five customers deep and there are plenty of registers not being used...including only one express lane open, on a WEEKEND! - people who have $2 and change left on a gift card and apparently don't realize it, so when the cashier tells them how much more they owe, they have to dig into the purse, pull out the wallet, and proceed to count out the remainder down to the exact change. Rant over.
  8. I'll see your Brokeback....I mean...Nickelback and raise you Fergie. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/sick.gif
  9. And this is why it's a drinking fountain nowdays. Has anyone seen an actual "bubbler" in the recent past? I have no idea how long they've been extinct. Edit: And "water fountain?" That's the thing the homeless guy sits by on Library Mall, or the thing you throw spare change in.
  10. Looks to me like at least 1/3 of the state says soda. I grew up in Kenosha Co., now live in Dane, and it's soda, grandma, pen, aunt, and duck, duck, goose for me. Always has been. And there is no such thing as a bubbler, as far as I know. They don't exist anymore. Nowdays we have drinking fountains. It really doesn't matter to me what some map tells me people use either. A Pepsi is a type of soda, and I'll never understand why people use "pop." People can say whatever they want, but that doesn't make it correct. All soda surely isn't Coke, like they say in the south; Coke is a brand of soda.
  11. I'm the exact opposite. Can't stand the word "pop" to describe a Coke/Pepsi. A soda is something you drink. Pop is what happens when you poke a ballon with something sharp.
  12. How about Brent Musberger and "WES-consin?" http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/eyes.gif
  13. Didn't Turk Wendall used to floss in the dugout? That guy had weird superstitions/habits. On a completely unrelated note, a quote from John Anderson on SC today made me laugh out loud. He was doing cubs highlights, and a shot of Derrek Lee came up, and he said, "Derrek Lee - the only thing keeping the Cubs from being a AAA team..." http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/roll.gif Gotta love how his Wisconsin roots still come out when he's doing highlights of Wisconsin teams or taking shots at certain other teams.
  14. Well, if you really want to look at the positive side, we've won five out of our last six, with that horrible disaster vs. the Pirates at MP being the only aberration lately. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/tongue.gif It's like that scene from Super Troopers where they're testing out the bulletproof cup: Mac: "How's your shooting, Thorny?" Ramathorne: "Good. I've been dead on all morning." Mac: "What about that little guy?" [He holds up a target with a tight group in the chest. Mac points to a bullet hole in the target's head.] Ramathorne: "Who, that little guy? I wouldn't worry about that little guy." Hopefully the bullpen disaster in that game is a little guy we don't have to worry about. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif
  15. We get our shot at Atlanta on Friday. Right now, I say kick the scrubs while they are down. Atlanta is not in our division while Chicago is, and I wouldn't mind a little help from Atlanta in putting some distance between us and the scrubs, especially now that Lee is injured. I agree with letting the NL East beat each other up over the next couple months.
  16. Bill disappointed We don't face Willis this week What is wrong with him? Jenks strikes out enough We need to go for the sweep Not practice golf swings
  17. A letdown tonight? I hope not - wins now are good. Let's sweep NL East!
  18. The Braves and six other teams. I'm not sure the WC is a realistic goal this year, but if the team wants to go ahead and prove me wrong, I won't be complaining. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/happy.gif I'll never root for the scrubs unless it directly helps the Brewers, and that wasn't the case today.
  19. And now I know what it must feel like to be a scrubs fan with this choke job.
  20. Wow. I need a beer. Make that lots of beers.
  21. I think the Pirates are going to have every Top Five Web Gem and least half the Top Ten Plays on SC tonight. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/mad.gif http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/mad.gif
  22. WOW! Where did this ability to break it open come from? http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/happy.gif http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/eek.gif
  23. uno, dos, tres...now THAT I understand at least. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/roll.gif Este beisbol en espanol es muy interestante. (I think)
  24. I was thinking the same thing. He could have put that one in the seats. He is such a good fastball hitter that he needs to be greelighted on that pitch.
