  1. Yes, Vaughns power has been sapped unfortunately
  2. My idea would be Jake Burger and I'd be fine sending Vaughn out
  3. I mean I'm of the belief you acquire as good of a bat as you can find, and then figure it out.
  4. This is what I would like to know, why oh why do they never acquire bats at the deadline? They didn't last year either, and it was very obvious that's where their weakness was.
  5. Ironically most of you wanted no part of what it would have taken in "prospects" to get Skubal. Bet you all are re thinking that now, huh?
  6. SMH dammit, the Cubs are absolutely killing it at the deadline, and the Brewers acquire Dustin May and JJ Romero and call it good.
  7. Maybe I should ignore everyone here then because all most of you do is drink the Brewer kool aid and suck up everything the FO tells you. Take for example some of the comments in this thread...people praising this move like it's anything special. It's...something but nothing spectacular.
  8. This is BS where did I say that because the cubs acquired Gausman? Answer :I didn't!
  9. Thanks but I am NOT a troll. I bet they literally gave up ZILCH for him so it's not really giving up any prospects(none worth anything anyway), with all due respect, I have no idea how people get excited over trades like this. They don't move the needle at all, and I won't get over the fact that it was said they were going to take "big swings", where are those? You can't say something like that and then whiff. You HAVE to be willing to give up the prospects to land those swings.
  10. CJ Abrams. If a bat isn't available...you make one available. It can be done.
  11. Oh it's a LMAO...these are "innings eaters" at best. That does NOTHING for them. It doesn't move the needle one iota. This must have been the "big swing" Arnold was referencing! HUGE HUGE deal. 🙄
  12. Seriously though, they MIGHT do something, but why on earth are they always so slow about it on deadline day? I can think of NUMEROUS trades they have made that have literally been right at or slightly before the buzzer. Like I don't get it, it's not like they just threw a trade together last minute. These things are talked about well in advance, and no other teams make as many trades right at the deadline(literally) then the Brewers do. What's the hang up? You know long before that if it's accepted or not. Or you should.
  13. Get ready can't wait for the standard "we just couldn't get anything across the finish line" when McCalvy talks to him after the deadline. That's code for "I chickened out"
  14. Remember, according to him he had "several" lines in the water and he "thought things were moving". Wellllllllll Matt, we're waiting. The prices are the prices. It's like putting gas in your car. You gotta pay it if you want to be able to drive.
  15. I mean do you want to improve the team or do you not Matt? Yet somehow other teams never have a problem finding guys they want to trade for and get deals done. Arnold strikes me as the type of GM that makes an offer and that's it. No negotiating no nothing. They either accept his terms or they don't, but he won't "negotiate". That's just my opinion
  16. I couldn't agree more. He nailed it. It would be inexcusable. I have been saying that and getting excoriated for it. 🙄 21m ago Ken Rosenthal· Senior Writer, MLB Where are the Brewers? Catcher Bo Naylor and right-hander Codi Heuer can’t be it for the team with the best record in the National League. After striking out on Tarik Skubal, the Brewers need a playoff-caliber starter (the Mets’ Clay Holmes?) as well as a power hitter, preferably at shortstop or third base. Sitting on perhaps the game’s best farm system, it would be inexcusable for the Brewers to settle for a series of piecemeal additions.
  17. We at least have evidence that they said they were going to swing big and Murph said "this year is different". That's different then past years. The guys hear that stuff, you don't think that gets them pumped? Only to see it be all BS. I mean why say it if you aren't going to follow thru on it?
  18. Now there's a needle mover if I ever saw one! I don't mean that as a shot at you at all, but that is EXACTLY the kind of move he'd make and then think it's enough. 🙄
  19. All of them. You think they appreciated their GM saying they were going to swing big this year and then not delivering on that promise? What kind of message does that send to them? That their GM won't give them more help because he's too afraid to "go for it", and likes his prospects more then his current roster. Don't talk the talk unless you are going to walk the walk. If your guys think you're swinging big, you better back that up.
  20. I couldn't care less about Gausman, it's the fact that they haven't done a thing yet
  21. I feel bad for the guys on the team. You know damn well(whether they admit it or not) they are all VERY disappointed that their GM didn't take the big swing he said he was going to take. Even Murph was saying "this year is different". To me, that sends the wrong message. If the guys think you are taking big swings, then you had better deliver or they will think you just talk a big game but don't play one. It can't make Murph very happy either.
  22. Oh I'm aware of that. But is there some rule that he can't acquire anyone until Monday? I almost guarantee the reason it always takes him so long is because he's hesitant, hems and haws over the asking price and then the guy gets traded somewhere else.
