    It's getting a little late in the season for the Brewers to be happy with splits. They have too many teams to catch. They can't afford splits against one of those teams. If we celebrate splits, then all we are really happy with is mediocrity. The Brewers will be contending for nuthin' if Carlos Lee doesn't get his junk together. They need a 10 wins out of 12 stretch to put themselves squarely in the middle of the WC chase. They cannot make that streak without Lee contributing every night in the middle of the lineup moof edited: language - ja002h

    The Crew got a little slight from ESPN last night. Not sure what show was on (I was in a bar). The crawl on the bottom had this for the NL Wild Card race: "... 1. Philly 0 GB, 2. Houston 1/2 GB, 3. Florida 1 GB, 4. Washington 1 1/2 GB, 5. NY Mets 2 GB, 7. Chicago 5.5 GB. . . " I guess if you're anything but 5GB (or Milwaukee) you're not in the WC race. Not I have even more reason to hate *&^*%@ ESPN moof btw, Andy Pettite looks a little vampirish too.

    The way I look at the WC race is that the Brewers aren't chasing 4 or 5 teams, they are trying to reach a certain number of wins. Right now, Philly is on pace for 87 wins. If the Brewers go 25 -10 in their next 35, they would have 85 wins with 5 left to play. I would imagine they would be in the WC hunt at that point. 25-10 is not a ridiculous feat, but it is something the Brewers haven't accomplished much in the last 13 years. Also, there would be the pressure of a WC chase to deal with. It sure would be fun to be in a race to make the playoffs! moofhttp://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif

    The Rockies starting pitcher tomorrow has an ERA of 5.77. Don't even bother turning your tv sets on folks. His ERA will be about 4.8 after the game.
