  1. I would much rather have Joe Dillon than Derrick Turnbow right now. And yes, I do mean on the mound.
  2. turnbow is completely worthless. He's nothing but a tomato can out there. We might as well just cut him, eat his salary, and get another bat on the bench.
  3. After Gagne spit up the save in game 1, I jokingly asked my friend how many saves Gagne, at 10 mil per year, would have to blow in the month of April to lose his closer job? 5? All of a sudden 5 blown saves in April is looking like about even money. In the immortal words of Kent Brockman, "would you say it's time to panic?"
  4. No, it won't. It will be typical condescending, infuriating, cliche-ridden Yost-speak.
  5. Honey? Where's my torch and pitchfork?
  6. Gagne is on the mound. Do you really have to ask?
  7. That's a pretty fair question... If Gagne spits this up, I hope someone from the Journtinal asks Ned that. But nobody will.
  8. I have a big enough sample size now. Rickie is just terrible. It has got to be getting close to the time for plan B at the leadoff spot.
  9. So how many blown saves in the month of April will a 10 million contract buy Gagne? 4? 5? What's his Magic Suck Number?
  10. Well, game over. When is the last time a team scored three runs in the 9th inning with the opposing team's ace closer on the hill? Wait, check that... when is the last time the BREWERS scored three runs in the 9th inning with the opposing team's ace closer on the hill?
  11. He won't! He never will. His voice will get really high, he'll screw up his face like a kid does when his dad asks him to clean out the garage, and he'll say something profound like "guys, guys, come on. It's just a game. It's our guys against their guys, and that's part of baseball." And that will be that.
  12. In the unlikely event that he gets called out on that one by a member of the local media, maybe he'll give us that "it's just a game" line again. I don't mind if the local Little League coach pulls out that line, but Ned... don't ever say that again.
  13. Aargh. This is not fun. I'm going to go play in traffic or something.
  14. I can only say this under the protective veil of the vent thread. Rluz, you are starting to piss me off with that avatar. It makes my blood pressure rise every time I see it. I had to cut out salty snacks because of that avatar. Thanks a lot.
  15. I wish Jose would have made good on his quote-unquote "threat" to never pitch for the Brewers again. I sincerely hope Doug sends his ass back down, and I would not say that for any other player. Bring a guy up and he gets roughed up in his first action of the season, fine. That happens. But if you're gonna go AWOL and generally be an ass because you think you're better than the other guys who made the big club, you better back it up by being, well, better than the other guys who made the big club. Get rid of him. He's got "turd" written all over him.
  16. I can't believe that aside from a flukey shot by Cappy, we're getting skunked by Bung Hung Kim. Ugh. Warm up the vent thread.
  17. perhaps I should bag on Turnbow here. It worked out good when I bagged on Menchie...
  18. you read my mind, rluz... I did NOT want a Mench sighting here. edit: every time I do that, the player I'm bagging on makes a fool out of me. Which rocks.
  19. Call me an idiot, knee-jerker, bad fan, ignoramus, whatever. I don't care, I am probably all of those things. But I hate Derrick Turnbow, now more than ever. I hated him in March, I hated him in April, and now I REALLY hate him. He sucks. Everything about him sucks. His hair sucks. He sucks out loud. He sucked most of last year, then he briefly forgot he sucked for a while this april, and now he sucks again, and will continue to suck as long as he is allowed to suck. I can't stand watching him attempt to pitch, even on the rare occasions when he escapes an inning without damage through some divine miracle. It's like pulling teeth. This blatant and egregious sucking can not go unchecked. Doug, if you can do that magic thing you do and get ANY value for this guy whatsoever, please do, before he projects his suckiness outwardly on the rest of the pitching staff. There. Thank you for being always being there to listen, vent thread. I love you.
  20. Plus he hasn't pitched in a freaking month...
  21. no, no, no, no, no..... somebody do something.
  22. Heh... there's yet another one where the description doesn't tell the whole story. I see "infield single" for prince, I assume that he hit the ball down a gopher hole or something and the 3rd baseman couldn't find it.
  23. Thank you TBow. I love being proven wrong about him. In fact he should make an idiot of me every time out, I would love that. But no matter what he does, I'll always get the same feeling watching him pitch that I get when I watch my wife throw darts...kind of grimacing, peeking sideways through one squinty eye.
