  1. https://www.baseball-reference.com/register/player.fcgi?id=franci000bow https://www.baseball-reference.com/players/r/richatr01.shtml These are the players we traded for Rowdy Tellez, who is a career lifetime 1.0 WAR player.
  2. You're right, I'm totally dumb. I don't know why I was thinking they could go down 10. That tweet is spot on. Going down back at your own 9 (10) almost guarantees your worst case scenario is getting the ball back down 8 with a chance to tie with a TD and a 2 with still almost 2 minutes left. What a bizarre, but correct strategy. So unconventional I can't even blame Reid for not having thought of it in the moment.
  3. Interesting, but a couple points: 1) No need to step out of bounds on a change of possession. 2) If you go down 10 you're pretty equally screwed so I don't know if that's really any better than allowing a 1st. Here would have been my idea: run all the way back and take a safety. You're down 23-20 and now you can try an onside kick from the 20. If you get it, you can tie with a FG or win with a TD! If not, you're in no worse of a position -- Lions would have the ball on the edge of FG range and you still have a chance to beat them if they get stopped on 4th or kick a FG.
  4. Don't get me wrong, Detroit *could* win the division. Just don't think it looks any more or less likely after tonight.
  5. If we're talking about the same play, looked right in his hands to me. As far as the 4th and 25, didn't really see a difference. Either way they needed a 3 and out on defense after, and didn't get it. Skyy Moore should have converted it, honestly.
  6. I know what the narrative is going to be on the Lions after winning this game tonight, but I'm not buying it. The Chiefs were awful.
  7. Toney is so bad.
  8. Campbell's 4th down decisions don't seem to have any rhyme or reason. Just emotional decisions.
  9. Looked like Mike McCarthy drew up that play.
  10. I thought so until about 2 minutes ago. Who punts on 4th and 3 from the opposing 40? Did he forget that it's not 1992?
  11. This doesn't get talked about much, but we traded two relievers who would really look good in our bullpen right now for Rowdy Tellez who has somehow made a long career out of being very mediocre. But yeah, poor move by Craig going with him in the 9th, and on Uribe, it just doesn't feel like Craig trusts him.
  12. I mean it was 9, but yeah, they were hot recently.
  13. Absolutely putrid sequence by Santana.
  14. This division is very likely to come down to the last series of the season. The Cubs only need to be within 3 games or less going into it to have a chance to steal it from us.
  15. Now if someone could belt one that would be great.
  16. Santana can't be up there guessing with 2 strikes and a man on 3rd with less than 2 outs. Take a hack. Even a flyball gets a run. Can't go down looking.
  17. Badgers caught a huge break on that punt, not sure how roughing the punter wasn't called.
  18. If this is what Mordecai looks like against Buffalo, Big 10 defenses will eat him alive.
  19. Can we just pause for a moment and reflect on just how incompetently run of an organization that the Angels are? Yeah you can tell me about the Lions, or the Browns, or the Pirates, but what organization gets gifted not one, but two once in a generation talents in its sport and somehow cannot build any sort of a winner with them despite many years of trying? How can this even be possible?
  20. I mean if they swept us twice they'd be 2 games up on us without anything else in consideration at all. I'd certainly like to avoid that outcome.
  21. So they didn't get a run on the DP? I'm watching on GameDay and trying to figure out how Contreras doesn't score from 3rd on a 6-4-3 double play.
  22. Probably not going to get much better of a result in Texas.
