Your 2010 Wisconsin Timber Rattlers
battlekow replied to bnedaddy's topic in Brewers Minor League Talk
Will Carroll is kind of an acknowledged hack, and anyway talent evaluation of any form--stats or scouting--isn't his bailiwick. The fact that he has a stupid, baseless opinion isn't an indictment of the colleagues of his whose specialties actually qualify them to offer opinions about that sort of thing. -
Stars can't dig their way out of early hole, lose second half of double dip Aaron Morse/Huntsville Stars The Huntsville Stars (23-24) got a one-run victory in game one of Thursday’s double header, but suffered a one-run loss by a final score of 5-4 in game two against the Birmingham Barons (15-31). The Barons took a 1-0 lead in the top of the first thanks to a sacrifice fly off the bat of Jim Gallagher. That scored John Shelby III who doubled to lead-off the frame. They’d chase Stars’ starter Chris Cody in the top of the third due to the long ball. Shelby III started things by hitting the first homer of the inning. Greg Paiml quickly followed with a double to left. Then Jim Gallagher capped the scoring with a two-run bomb. That would be all for Cody as Mike Guerrero called upon Mark Willinsky to finish the inning. He did, but it wasn’t easy, as an error and a single put runners at the corners with nobody out. A strikeout and a 6-4-3 double play got him out of it though with no further damage. Facing a 4-0 deficit, the Stars got three of the runs back in a big way in the bottom of the fifth. With one away and runners at the corners Drew Anderson continued to make an impressive 2010 Stars debut with a three-run homer. Willinsky pitched three scoreless innings before giving way to Eduardo Morlan in the top of the sixth. Morlan, recently acquired from the Tampa Bay Rays’ organization, gave up a one-out single and a two-out triple as the Barons extended their lead to 5-3. They would need all five of those runs as the Stars came storming back again in the bottom of the frame. With one away, Lee Haydel laid down a beautiful bunt single. He would steal second and move to third on a passed ball. Then with two away, Mat Gamel delivered a clutch single to make the score 5-4. But that’s how the game would end as the Stars went down 1-2-3 in the bottom of the seventh. Cody (2-5) suffered the loss while Matt Long (3-4) was perfect through four and ended up going five innings for the win. Anthony Carter earned his fourth save of the year. The offensive stars for Huntsville were Gamel and Anderson as Gamel went 2-3 with a run scored and a RBI. Meanwhile Anderson smacked his first homer for the Stars in 2010, driving in three in the process. The Stars remain five games back of the Tennessee Smokies in the north division. Huntsville is back at it Friday night as they’ll send Mark Rogers (2-3, 3.60) to the mound. You can catch all the action beginning at 6:45pm central time on the Huntsville Stars Radio Network and online at www.huntsvillestars.com.

BC rallies from three down to top Miracle Frank Longobardo/Brevard County Manatees VIERA - The Brevard County Manatees rallied from a 3-0 deficit in the seventh inning to defeat the Fort Myers Miracle 4-3 on Thursday night at Space Coast Stadium, in front of 1,502 fans. A walk-off walk drawn by Shawn Zarraga snapped the Manatees seven-game losing streak. The Miracle got the scoring started in the top of the third, when Jonathan Goncalves hit a one-out two-run homer off of Manatees starter Dan Merklinger to give Fort Myers a 2-0 lead. Those would be the only runs that Merklinger would allow as he went five innings and allowed three hits, while walking four and fanning five Fort Myers hitters. Brevard County couldn't touch Miracle starter Liam Hendriks as he threw six shutout innings and allowed just three hits, while walking two and striking out seven Manatees. Fort Myers tacked on another run in the seventh on a two-out solo shot by Chris Parmelee off of Manatees reliever Mike Ramlow. The Manatees were finally able to touch up Fort Myers pitching when they got to the bullpen in the seventh. Two-out RBI singles from Josh Prince and Matt Cline off of Steven Blevins cut the deficit to 3-2. In the eighth, Kentrail Davis led the inning off with a triple and then four batters later, the newest Manatee, Scott Krieger came up and delivered a two-out single to tie the game at 3-3. Brevard County looked to blow the game open after Juan Sanchez drew a walk to load the bases, but Prince struck out looking to leave the bases loaded and end the inning. In his second inning of work, Corey Frerichs retired the Miracle 1-2-3 in the top of the ninth to set up the final comeback by the Manatees. Cline led off the bottom of the ninth with a single to left and then moved to second on a perfect sacrifice bunt by Erik Komatsu that he almost beat out for a hit. Fort Myers decided to pitch to Davis rather than set-up a double play ball, but they unintentionally set-up a double play ball when Davis was plunked with a pitch. With runners on first and second with one out, Sergio Miranda struck out swinging, but with the third strike being a wild pitch from Billy Bullock, both Cline and Davis moved up a base. Bullock then intentionally walked Sean Halton to set up the force at any base. Instead of getting a force out, the Miracle ended up forcing in the winning run as Zarraga drew a five-pitch walk with the bases loaded to score Cline and end the Manatees losing streak. Despite stranding 13 runners and going 3-for-13 with runners in scoring position, Brevard County was able to scratch out its first win since last Wednesday. Zarraga and Cline combined for five of Brevard County's nine hits in the game. Frerichs earned his third win of the season in relief. The Manatees and the Miracle will continue their four-game series on Friday night at 7:05 p.m. in Viera. The first 500 fans through the gates on Friday night will receive a free Manatees coffee mug, presented by the Holiday Inn Melbourne-Viera & Conference Center.

Final: Birmingham 5, Huntsville 4 (7 innings)Huntsville box score This time, it was Huntsville's late-game rally that fell just short. Drew Anderson had a huge three-run homer in the 5th to get the Stars back in the game, but they couldn't quite get over the hill, despite a clutch two-out RBI single from Mat Gamel in the 6th. Gamel was 2-3, putting him at 3-6 on the day in his first rehab action at Huntsville. Brett Lawrie, Lorenzo Cain, and Caleb Gindl were all 0-3, while Lee Haydel was 1-3. Huntsville play-by-play Gamel picked up Lawrie here: Huntsville Bottom 6th Lorenzo Cain strikes out swinging. Lee Haydel singles on a bunt ground ball to second baseman Justin Fuller. With Brett Lawrie batting, Lee Haydel steals (10) 2nd base. With Brett Lawrie batting, passed ball by Jared Price, Lee Haydel to 3rd. Brett Lawrie strikes out swinging. Mat Gamel singles on a fly ball to center fielder John Shelby III. Lee Haydel scores. Zelous Wheeler flies out to right fielder Salvador Sanchez.

Final: Brevard County 4, Fort Myers 3Brevard County box score Down 3-0, the Manatees rallied with two runs in the 7th, one in the 8th, and finally pushed the winning run across in the 9th on a walk-off walk, fittingly on the same day the big-league club won in the same fashion. Dan Merklinger struggled with his control but was otherwise effective, allowing two runs in five innings on three hits and four walks while striking out five. Mike Ramlow relieved and struck out four in two innings while allowing a run and was followed by eventual winner Corey Frerichs, who kept the Miracle off the board over the final two frames. Shawn Zarraga led the offense with three hits and drew the winning walk. Kentrail Davis tripled and was hit by a pitch for the 10th time but also whiffed thrice. Matt Cline, Josh Prince, and Scott Krieger each had key two-out RBI singles. Erik Komatsu was 0-3 with a walk and a sac bunt. The opposing starter was former Timber Rattlers tormentor Liam Hendriks, who naturally handcuffed BC for six innings. Brevard County play-by-play Post-Hendriks, the Manatees finally busted loose, thanks to some clutch hits: Brevard County Bottom 7th Pitcher Change: Steven Blevins replaces Liam Hendriks. Shawn Zarraga singles on a ground ball to third baseman Nicholas Romero. With Scott Krieger batting, passed ball by Chris Herrmann, Shawn Zarraga to 2nd. Scott Krieger strikes out swinging. Juan Sanchez flies out to right fielder Evan Bigley. Shawn Zarraga to 3rd. Josh Prince singles on a ground ball to shortstop Estarlin De Los Santos. Shawn Zarraga scores. With Matt Cline batting, Josh Prince steals (12) 2nd base. Matt Cline singles on a line drive to center fielder Joe Benson. Josh Prince scores. Erik Komatsu grounds out to first baseman Chris Parmelee. Brevard County Bottom 8th Kentrail Davis triples (5) on a line drive to center fielder Joe Benson. Sergio Miranda grounds out, second baseman Brian Dozier to first baseman Chris Parmelee. Sean Halton walks. Pitcher Change: Billy Bullock replaces Steven Blevins. Shawn Zarraga called out on strikes. Scott Krieger singles on a line drive to left fielder Jonathan Goncalves. Kentrail Davis scores. Sean Halton to 2nd. Juan Sanchez walks. Sean Halton to 3rd. Scott Krieger to 2nd. Josh Prince called out on strikes. Brevard County Bottom 9th Matt Cline singles on a line drive to left fielder Jonathan Goncalves. Erik Komatsu out on a sacrifice bunt, pitcher Billy Bullock to first baseman Chris Parmelee. Matt Cline to 2nd. Kentrail Davis hit by pitch. Sergio Miranda strikes out swinging. Wild pitch by pitcher Billy Bullock. Matt Cline to 3rd. Kentrail Davis to 2nd. Billy Bullock intentionally walks Sean Halton. Shawn Zarraga walks. Matt Cline scores. Kentrail Davis to 3rd. Sean Halton to 2nd.

Final: Kane County 3, Wisconsin 2Cougars stop Rattlers' win streak Chris Mehring/Wisconsin Timber Rattlers GENEVA, IL – The Wisconsin Timber Rattlers could not hold on for their sixth win in a row. Wisconsin took a 2-1 lead into the eighth inning at Elfstrom Stadium on Thursday night. But, the Kane County Cougars got a two-run double from Kent Walton for a 3-2 lead. The Cougars would hold on in the top of the ninth to snap their eight-game losing streak. Scooter Gennett walked with one out, stole second and went to third on a throwing error in the top of the first inning. Khris Davis drove in Gennett with a grounder to second for a 1-0 Wisconsin lead. Kane County (21-27) answered in the bottom of the second inning. Anthony Aliotti singled with one out and stole second. Franklin Hernandez singled to left with two outs to drive in Aliotti. The Rattlers (18-29) retook the lead in the top of the fifth inning in a near carbon copy of their run in the first. Cutter Dykstra singled, stole second, and went to third on a throwing error. Erik Miller’s sacrifice fly to left sent Dykstra home with the go-ahead run. Kyle Heckathorn took the lead and ran with it. The big right-hander kept the Cougars off the board for the rest of his outing. Heckathorn tossed a total of seven innings; allowed one run on six hits; did not walk a batter and struck out five. Kane County starting pitcher Dan Straily struck out 10 over seven innings and allowed three hits, but was in line for the loss until the Cougars rallied in the eighth against the Wisconsin bullpen. Santo Manzanillo walked the leadoff batter. One out later, Mike Gilmartin singled to put runners on first and second. Manzanillo ran the count full to Walton. The runners were off on the 3-2 pitch and Walton doubled to left to drive in both runners to give the Cougars the lead. Connor Hoehn, who came on in the top of the eighth inning, struck out the side in the top of the ninth to put an end to Wisconsin’s five-game winning streak. The Timber Rattlers continue their 13-game road trip on Friday when they start a 4-game series with the Cedar Rapids Kernels. Wisconsin sends Nick Bucci (3-1, 1.82) to the mound as their starting pitcher. Cedar Rapids plans to put Ariel Pena on the hill. Pena, who was transferred from the California League earlier this week, will be making his first Midwest League start of 2010. Game time on Perfect Game Field at Veterans Memorial Stadium is 6:35pm. Catch the action on AM1280, WNAM starting with the Miller Lite Pregame show at 6:15pm. Wisconsin box scoreAs Mehring said, Manzanillo runs it up there near 100 mph but sometimes has no idea where it's going. Still, it shouldn't eclipse another outstanding effort from Heckathorn. The Rattler struck out a ton today, 14 times, with Davis, Chris Dennis, and Pete Fatse each punching out three times. Dennis at least had a double (though it sounded like it could have been scored a single and an error). D'Vontrey Richardson, Gennett, and Davis were all hitless, though Richardson was hit by a pitch and Gennett, as mentioned, walked. Cameron Garfield singled and struck out twice. Hoehn was the Brewers' 21st-round pick in 2007 but didn't sign. Wisconsin play-by-play The Rattlers went out with an echo of a whimper: Wisconsin Top 9th Khristopher Davis called out on strikes. Chris Dennis called out on strikes. Cameron Garfield strikes out swinging.

Stars hold on, knock off Barons in game one of doubleheader Aaron Morse/Huntsville Stars Everyone in the Huntsville Stars’ (23-23) lineup tallied a hit and a late Chris Errecart home run was the difference as they got back to .500 with a 6-5 victory over the Birmingham Barons (14-31) in game one of Thursday’s double header. The Stars jumped out to the early lead in the bottom of the third. Drew Anderson, just assigned to Huntsville from Nashville yesterday, doubled to lead-off the frame. Two outs later, Lorenzo Cain continued his hot hitting by singling him home. The base knock gave Cain an eight-game hitting streak. Huntsville got some help from one of the major leaguers currently rehabbing with the squad in the fourth when Mat Gamel singled with one away. With two outs, Caleb Gindl hit a chopper to the right side, pitcher Justin Edwards was late covering the bag and Gindl arrived safely. The break gave the Stars new life and Anderson took advantage as he singled to left to drive in Gamel. The Barons would cut the lead to 2-1 in the top of the fifth against Stars’ starter Michael Bowman. Cole Armstrong doubled to start things off. Two outs later John Shelby III delivered a clutch RBI triple that Lee Haydel nearly caught up against the wall out in left-center field. But the Stars’ offense exploded in the bottom half. Martin Maldonado hit a ringing double which was quickly followed by a Cain single to center. With runners at the corners, Haydel drew a walk to load the bases. That’s when Brett Lawrie came up big with a 2-RBI single to extend the lead to 4-1 and take-over the team lead in RBI. The base hit chased Edwards from the game. New pitcher Andrew Dobies was victimized by a Zelous Wheeler single to right which drove home Haydel. The Barons got one back in the top of the sixth on a two-out RBI single from Christian Marrero. With the score 5-2, Errecart smacked a homer to left that extended the lead in the bottom of the sixth. That long ball would turn out to be huge as the Barons tallied two runs off Bowman and one run off closer Brandon Kintzler in the top of the seventh. But Kintzler got Brent Morel to strike-out to end the game and earn his ninth save of the year. Bowman got the win to move to 4-4 while Edwards took the loss to fall to 2-2. Cain, Anderson, and Lawrie had the biggest days at the plate as Cain went 3-4 with a run scored and a RBI. Meanwhile Anderson went 2-3 with a run scored and a RBI as well. Lawrie went 1-4, but his one hit got him 2 RBI. The win breaks a three-game losing streak for the Stars and moves them back to five games behind the Smokies in the North Division.

Final: Huntsville 6, Birmingham 5 (7 innings)Huntsville box score The Stars led 6-2 entering the 7th and nearly faltered, but Brandon Kintzler came on and, despite allowed his first earned run of the year, nailed down the 6-5 victory. Starter Michael Bowman entered the 7th having given up two runs on seven hits and a walk but allowed singles to two of the first three hitters, both of which came around to score. He struck out three. Lorenzo Cain had a big day with the stick, 3-4 with a double, and new/old Star Drew Anderson added a single and double. Every other starter notched exactly one hit, with Lee Haydel adding a walk (keep it up, Lee) and his ninth stolen base. Huntsville play-by-play By the skin of their teeth: Birmingham Top 7th Salvador Sanchez singles on a ground ball to center fielder Lorenzo Cain. Tyler Kuhn flies out to left fielder Lee Haydel. John Shelby III singles on a fly ball to left fielder Lee Haydel. Salvador Sanchez to 2nd. Pitcher Change: Brandon Kintzler replaces Michael Bowman. Gerut to the DL; the re-return of Stern
battlekow replied to battlekow's topic in Milwaukee Brewers Talk
Yeah, he's now played a total of three games on his last two optional assignments, both of which have been cut short by injuries on the big club (optional assignments are a minimum of ten days otherwise). -
OF Adam Stern was recalled from Nashville following the Brewers game today; he's now played a total of three games on his last two optional assignments, both of which have been cut short by injuries on the big club (optional assignments are a minimum of ten days otherwise). Also, it appears that C Angel Salome has returned from his furlough, as Baseball America reports that he was activated from the temporary inactive list and placed on the DL instead. Based on what we've heard from Coach, Angel is currently working out in Arizona with the rest of the kids in extended spring training.

Your 2010 Wisconsin Timber Rattlers

My first interview for Brewerfan: I talked to Kevin Goldstein about his impressions of the Rattlers from last night. -
Still on the run: Haydel making impact in minors Ryan Arena/L'Observateur (LaPlace, LA) On the baseball diamond, speed has long been considered Lee Haydel’s best asset. Fittingly, his ascent through the Milwaukee Brewers’ minor league system has been a swift one. The Riverside alumni has been promoted in each of his four pro seasons since being drafted in the 19th round of the 2006 Major League Baseball Amateur draft, and currently plays for the Double A Huntsville Stars in Alabama. Haydel has played for the Single A Advanced Brevard County Manatees, the Single A West Virginia Power, and the Rookie League Helena Brewers. His pace in each has been strikingly steady. He hit .295 with West Virginia, and has never hit less than .276. He’s stolen 34 and 39 bases in full seasons and 12 in a 62 game rookie ball campaign. This season, he’s hitting .289 for Huntsville, with eight steals, 12 RBIs and 21 runs scored. His on-base percentage, if kept up, would be a career high at .352. “So far, I’m pretty happy with how things are going,” said Haydel. “It could be better, but there are four months left. It’s baseball, and it’s a long season.” That his numbers have remained steady, and even improved, is a testament to the work that Haydel has put into his game as a pro. That much is clear because, as Haydel says, the jump to Double A brings a sharp bump up in competition. “Guys know how to pitch at this level,” said Haydel. “They can locate on both sides of the plate. They have command of their off-speed stuff. They’ve got three solid pitches. “And at the plate, everyone makes more solid contact. The play is just more consistent overall.” Those who followed Haydel at Riverside can’t be too surprised at his pro success. In 2006, he hit .473 and was a key cog for the Rebel baseball team that won the Class 2A state championship under then-coach Steve Stropolo. As he is in the pros, Haydel was a staple in center field for Riverside, an All-State performer who also played wide receiver on the football team and was a star sprinter on the track team. In all sports, his speed was a prime asset. Coming out of Riverside, he was clocked at 6.39 seconds in the 60-yard dash. It certainly supports his defensive play in center, and also on the bases — he has stolen 93 bases over his 352 minor league games. While he’s maintained his base-stealing prowess from his days in Reserve, he’s had to make some adjustments. “The higher up you get, the more you realize that you have a lot to learn,” said Haydel. “You’re learning which counts to run in, if he’s holding you, just little tweaks here and there.” He says that not much has really surprised him through his minor league career, partially because he never had an idea of what to expect to begin with. But one thing that has helped is that even through all of his travels so far — he hasn’t remained on the same team over two seasons yet — many of the same core guys he entered rookie ball with have been promoted right along with him. “You see them every single day,” said Haydel. “I’ve gotten to know a lot of these guys real well.” Of course, so is working toward a potential Major League career. Haydel still likely has another level, Triple A, to go before a potential call up to the Brewers, though some have made the jump straight from Double A. But in the meantime, things aren’t so bad. “It’s just the fact that I get to play baseball for a living,” Haydel said. “You have to love that.” http://lobservateur.com/content/articles/2010/05/26/sports/doc4bfc223fed8d2293834907.jpg (SpaceCoastBaseball.com)

Final: Daytona 9, Brevard County 3Brevard County box score Wily Peralta's control failed him, and one of the few fly balls he allowed left the yard for a two-run homer, but the real damage was done by the Manatees pen, which let a 3-2 game get away from them, though Peralta was stuck with the loss. Peralta allowed three runs in five innings on four hits and four walks, punching out five, inducing eight ground outs against one fly out, while Dan Meadows and Brandon Ritchie let in six more runs over the next four innings. On offense, Josh Prince was back leading off and Kentrail Davis back in the cleanup spot; Prince singled while committing two errors and Davis walked while going 0-4 and also committing an error. Erik Komatsu was 1-4 with a walk, Shawn Zarraga was 1-4, and Matt Cline was 0-3 with a walk and a HBP. Brevard County play-by-play Much of the damage against Peralta came in the 2nd: Daytona Top 2nd Rebel Ridling walks. Kyler Burke homers (4) on a fly ball to right center field. Rebel Ridling scores. Jake Opitz singles on a ground ball to left fielder Brock Kjeldgaard. With David Macias batting, Jake Opitz caught stealing 2nd base, catcher Anderson De La Rosa to shortstop Josh Prince. David Macias walks. Jose Valdez strikes out swinging. Luis Flores walks. David Macias to 2nd. Brett Jackson strikes out swinging. The Manatees squandered a chance for a big inning in the 1st: Brevard County Bottom 1st Josh Prince grounds out, second baseman Ryan Flaherty to first baseman Rebel Ridling. Matt Cline walks. Erik Komatsu reaches on force attempt, throwing error by pitcher Dae-Eun Rhee. Matt Cline to 2nd. Kentrail Davis walks. Matt Cline to 3rd. Erik Komatsu to 2nd. Sergio Miranda grounds into double play, pitcher Dae-Eun Rhee to catcher Luis Flores to first baseman Rebel Ridling. Matt Cline out at home.

Final: Wisconsin 2, Kane County 1Dykstra delivers; Rattlers win fifth straight Chris Mehring/Wisconsin Timber Rattlers GENEVA, IL – Cutter Dykstra tripled with two outs in the top of the ninth inning to drive in the go ahead run for a 2-1 Wisconsin Timber Rattlers victory. The Rattlers picked up their fifth straight win despite being out hit by the Kane County Cougars Wednesday night at Elfstrom Stadium. Wisconsin sent the Cougars to their eighth straight loss. Juan Nunez drove a solo homer to left with two outs in the fourth inning to put the Cougars (20-27) in front 1-0. Wisconsin (18-28) answered back with a two-out rally of their own in the top of the fifth. Michael Marseco was hit by a pitch. Austin Stockfisch followed with a single. Erik Miller’s single to right-center sent Marseco home with the tying run. The Nunez homer was the only run allowed by Rattlers starting pitcher Eric Arnett. The #1 pick of the Milwaukee Brewers in the 2009 draft struggled at times, but struck out four over six innings. In the second inning, he worked out of a bases loaded jam with one out by striking out the final two hitters of the frame. Arnett allowed six hits and walked one in his time on the hill. Both teams missed opportunities later in the game. In the seventh, Pete Fatse was at third with one out. The Cougars brought their infield in and it paid off. Marseco sent a grounder to first and the throw home beat Fatse for the second out. Kane County reliever Jonathan Joseph got the final out of the inning. Kane County got a one out double from Anthony Aliotti in the bottom of the eighth inning and he moved to third on a stolen base. Rattlers’ reliever Jon Pokorny struck out the next batter and got a fly ball to left to end the inning. The top of the ninth looked like it would quietly end as Joseph retired the first two batters. But, he walked Fatse to bring Dykstra to the plate. The Rattlers’ third baseman sent a line drive on a 1-2 pitch to right-center. Kane County center fielder Myrio Richard dove for the ball, but could not make the catch. The ball rolled to the wall, Fatse scored and Dykstra wound up on third with a triple. Andre Lamontagne pitched a 1-2-3 ninth for his fifth save. The Timber Rattlers and Cougars wrap up their three-game series on Thursday night. Kyle Heckathorn (2-3, 3.34) is the scheduled starting pitcher for Wisconsin. Kane County has Dan Straily (4-1, 2.92) as their scheduled starter. Game time is 6:00pm. Tune in for the Miller Lite Pregame Show on AM1280, WNAM at 5:40pm. Wisconsin box score See above for a quasi-scouting report on Arnett from Kevin Goldstein of Baseball Prospectus. Takeaway theme: Arnett's (new?) mechanics are very inconsistent, which adversely affects his control. His velocity also wasn't particularly inspiring, though Goldstein did praise his slider. Nevertheless, credit Arnett for being "mentally tough", as Chris Mehring emphasized, and working around his own mistakes and those of his defense. Another nice relief outing from Pokorny. Mehring said Lamontagne was hitting 95 in the 9th inning. Not much doing on offense, though enough to win. Scooter Gennett's hitting streak ended with his 0-4 night; Khris Davis and Chris Dennis also took the collar. D'Vontrey Richardson was 1-4, and of course Dykstra had the big triple. Wisconsin play-by-play Arnett's first three innings were pretty hairy: Kane County Bottom 1st Michael Gilmartin grounds out, shortstop Michael Marseco to first baseman Chris Dennis. Kent Walton singles on a line drive to left fielder Peter Fatse. With Leonardo Gil batting, passed ball by Austin Stockfisch, Kent Walton to 2nd. Leonardo Gil singles on a fly ball to right fielder Erik Miller. Kent Walton to 3rd. Leonardo Gil out at 2nd, right fielder Erik Miller to shortstop Michael Marseco. Myrio Richard grounds out, third baseman Cutter Dykstra to first baseman Chris Dennis. Kane County Bottom 2nd Anthony Aliotti called out on strikes. Max Stassi singles on a ground ball to shortstop Michael Marseco. Rashun Dixon reaches on force attempt, fielding error by third baseman Cutter Dykstra. Max Stassi to 2nd. Nino Leyja singles on a line drive to right fielder Erik Miller. Max Stassi to 3rd. Rashun Dixon to 2nd. Juan Nunez strikes out swinging. Michael Gilmartin strikes out swinging. Kane County Bottom 3rd Kent Walton grounds out, third baseman Cutter Dykstra to first baseman Chris Dennis. Leonardo Gil grounds out, third baseman Cutter Dykstra to first baseman Chris Dennis. Myrio Richard walks. Anthony Aliotti reaches on fielding error by first baseman Chris Dennis. Anthony Aliotti to 2nd. Myrio Richard advances to 3rd, on missed catch error by second baseman Ryan Gennett. Max Stassi grounds out, second baseman Ryan Gennett to first baseman Chris Dennis.
