  1. I was thinking about Simmons and his relationship with Yost and maybe he isn't the guy who will takeover, but instead it will be Kremblas. The Branyan cover could easily be just that, a cover. Not like DM has ever said one thing and something completely different happened.
  2. I have more doubts than hopes about this blogger as well but I was messing around and found this neat little tidbit that may brighten up someones day. Buck Rodgers - 23 wins - 24 losses - .489 Win % Fired Harvey Kuenn - 72 wins - 43 losses - .626 Win % Promoted Year 1982
  3. Im trying to read some of his other blogs to see what this guys credibility is like. I couldn't find anything either way, but he did post another blog before that pretty much ripping Yost, so take it with a grain of salt like usual when it comes to speculation.
  4. I know this may be jumping ahead to post a "blogger", but hell if the JSONLINE can do it, why can't we? Interesting either way. Link to the Jsonline portion Link to the Badgerblogger (edit: JS link must have changed; it's fixed now --1992)
  5. I don't know who the team leader is, but I think most people would agree its nice to see someone care and say whats on his mind w/o sugarcoating it. I do agree that if this team has a mindset that they can't or shouldn't be winning certain games then that directly relates to the manager. I don't care what level or league your playing on, the reason people play any sport is because they want to win. No one plays a game because they want to lose, because they might lose or because they just think the other team is better. If this team has a mindset going into games that, "well guys, I don't know if we can win this one, but by-golly - wouldn't it be really great if we did." then they need a serious kick in the buttocks. Expect to win, never expect to lose, never fear your opponent, never show them you may be outmatched, and when you win, it should be because you went into the game knowing you were going to win. The shows on FSN about the players, can't think of the name, had the show on Braun and he was quite forceful on one thing during that interview and that was that he has won on every level and he expects to win on every level. Another thing I liked on his interview on that show was when he was asked if he feared players like Peavy and he had a great response....."No, Ive been ready for this a long time." That should be what all these players have instilled into them. He backs it up to, on back to back days he nails one of the top closers in the game and then wakes up and nails one of the best pitchers in the game.
  6. Id try these lineups... 1. Kendall - He has proven in the past he can leadoff effectively 2. Hardy - Will get better pitches in the 2 hole, especially with whats behind him 3. Weeks - Ill probably get the most junk for this one, but I really would just like to see how this would work for a little bit, I think it could help Weeks out tremendously and I believe he has the ability to be a good 3 hitter 4. Braun - Fielder would work here too, but I like Braun in front of Fielder 5. Fielder - He will still have plenty chances to get his at bats and knock in runs 6. Cameron - no real reason why him here other than I dont want to see him leadoff after the pitcher and IMO doesnt have the ability to take enough pitches in the 7 spot 7. Hart - Can take pitches and will hit for decent average at any spot in the lineup 8. Pitcher - well because 9. Hall - Takes some pressure off him and adds a little power at the 9 spot or 1. Kendall - same as above 2. Hardy - same as above 3. Braun - because its working 4. Fielder - prototypical spot for him 5. Cameron - because he has proven to be a guy that can knock in 70-90 runs consistently 6. Hall - no real reason 7. Hart - same as above 8. Throwing the ball guy - because he will only get 2-3 ab before he is ph for, unless its our staff lately then he may only get 1 9. Weeks - like someone else said, give the guy a break and get him out of 1....9 would still be a theoritical leadoff considering the outs the pitcher gets, but without the pressure of being the main table setter OR 1. Hart - Hes capable 2. Hardy - same as above 3. Braun - same as above 4 Fielder - same as above 5. Cameron - same as above 6. Hall - blah 7. Kendall - because he has the ability to take walks when being "pitched" around 8. Sheets - http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif 9 Weeks - again , as above This is fun....
  7. I can see where you're going with Fielder with his high OBP, but teams won't walk him as much if nobody is on base. Braun's OBP is pretty bad so he doesn't fit the leadoff role that well at all. No no no no, maybe I shouldve posted that in blue http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif I was just referring to the thought about Rickie being in a role he is not suited for. Being leadoff. Hope that clears that up.
  8. I really don't have much of an arguement other than what I think he "could" do to be honest with you. Ive been wrong before, I just would like to give final judgement after he is moved out of the 1 spot. Id love for Rickie to prove me right, but I do understand the stance that he does need to produce. This is another extreme comparison but how would Fielder do moved to number 1 in the order or how about Braun? Im not saying they would do as bad as Rickie but I really believe were you hit in the order, when factoring a players skillset can really effect a player. If Weeks can get his average to just 260-270 range, his OBP would project out to be 380-400. I think that is a huge reason people arent willing to give up on him yet.
  9. Weeks is one guy I definately DO NOT want to give up on. I think his numbers would be similiar to Brauns(yes that good) if he was moved out of the 1 hole and yes its a hole right now for Rickie.
  10. Alot of people say Weeks is just really unlucky, and I agree to an extent. But the guy clearly is not a leadoff hitter. When he was 1st brought up I think most projected him as a 3 hitter. Id love to see a lineup with Weeks, Braun, Fielder at 3-4-5. It may or may not help, but the guy has so much untapped potential it drives me crazy to see him wasting away at leadoff. Kendall has excelled in a leadoff role before, why not move him up to #1?
  11. Were is the above quote from?
  12. Maybe it was just me, but when DeFilice was being interviewed he looked extremely nervous, to the point it looked like he was shaking tremendously. Other than that I agree he was very poised with his answers.
  13. I think they gave him the 09' season because they didnt want a lame duck coach, which I really thinks hinders a team. Am I the only one who keeps checking this site hoping to have it refresh and see a new post that says Yost Fired....I know we have some great insiders on this board, so I will continue to refresh lol..
  14. I dont know if this is tongue and cheek but in all honesty it really makes me sick to my stomach at how many people just can't let go of these two. I dont see any support to why either would make a good manager other than the fact that they both played and are idolized by many Milwaukee fans. I think I would go Kremblas, but I have doubts about it. Sorry for my other thread, for some reason I completely missed this thread. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif
  15. Ok, I think the majority of people will agree that Yost is most likely gone in the very near future, but that raises the question....Whos next? Most people seem to think Kremblas and I think that would be a great move since he has worked with most of the younger guys on this team and his teams seem to always be competitive, but what about others like Simmons? Do we go in that direction or do we hire a face that is not part of this organization as of now? I almost think a fresh face would be a good idea because he has no loyalties, but I honestly couldnt tell you who is available or someone who would be that fresh face.....What do you guys think? Please dont turn this into a Yost bashing thread, just was wondering some ideas on possible new managers and why some of you like them.
  16. The thing is AL teams sign DH's specifically, the NL usually uses ... A. Best bench player B. Minor leaguer I agree with a few others, just bring the DH to the NL. (cleaned up code --1992)
  17. I don't know the details of the Cordero contract but what is he making this year compared to Gagne? The one thing that boggles me the most about Melvin is keeping Gwynn on this team over others who clearly would help more. I think overall Melvin has done some great things in the trade department (minus Linebrink). He is a good GM in my view as all make mistakes, but if he keeps Yost much longer his leash will have worn way to thin.
  18. Last year I thought it was clearly Prince, but he (Prince) seems really dis-interested to me this year. I don't know if its lack of motivation or what. Braun IMO is the best player this team has had since Molitor and Yount. He is someone who does not back down from anyone at the plate and his confidence exudes him. If what he is saying is true then that is 110% on the manager. (Not to turn this into a Yost bashing thread) Its the players job to execute and the managers to gameplan and motivate. Maybe thats just my opinion but thats how I see it.
  19. 1. So you lived there for March and April, correct? Correct 2. how Long was the lease? 6 months 1850.00 was total out of pocket including the security deposit 3. You paid rent for March? But not April? Correct, I offered to pay a little bit late before he told me he didnt want me there anyways (I know it sounds like I mustve did something wrong that he didnt want me to stay there, but honestly that is not the case) 4. you were evicted and are out as of May 4 for non payment? Correct, which is what I expected to happen but he wants to go after "imaginary damages, the full remaining balance of the 6 months" and when we went to court, he told the court comish that he will not be going after my ex, just me. (Can I sue her for half of the remaining since the landlord or myself never let her off the lease?) 5. The reason for your non payment was that the landlord would not accept your new roommate? The reason for my non-payment was a combination of that and the fact that he said he did not want me there anyways. I told him I would be a few days late on the rent and he told me, I had 3 days to move out. When I told him he can't do that and that he needed something from the courts, thats when he went for the eviction "legally". I do have photos/videos of before and after and nothing was damaged except the front screen had a small tear in it from moving a couch in. I made sure to protect myself that way. The lady upstairs did not have a key to the house, its hard to explain but we had the basement as well and thats were we set up the gaming room so I generally left my door open because my daughter was always downstairs and I wanted to be able to hear what she was doing down there. When the door was open she would walk right into our house and on occasion walk in if I left the door unlocked. After her bothering us so much we pretty much abandoned the basement and kept the door to my house locked at all times. And yes my ex is not nice!
  20. Its not that I want to get money from him, its I want the lease to be void since he didnt tell me about the person living upstairs and her medical condition. I did have someone lined up to take my ex's spot ont he lease but he wouldnt allow me to use him as a roomate, to take her place. I imagine I probably don't have a strong case but I guess its a lesson learned.
  21. What I did when I was in college was spend lots of time in the school's library and sleep alot less. Generally staying up a few hours after everyone was asleep to get that extra time alone to focus on what needed to be done. It can be done, it just is more difficult.
  22. Ok so me and a ex of mine moved into a lower flat of a duplex on March 1st. By the 7th she was back with an ex boyfriend and out of the house. Fine whatever, it happens. I had a friend of mine who was going through some problems stay with me to help me with the rent and bills for the remainding 6 months of the lease. My ex informed the landlord of this and he was not having it, at all. I told him why I asked him to stay with me and he did not care at all. Meanwhile the heat was in my ex's name and without my knowledge she turned it off the day she moved out. It ended up reverting back to the landlords name and I also wasnt informed of this til' April 1st. I told my landlord that I would be a few days late with the rent due to the circumstances and he did not care about that either, he said he wanted me out regardless. So I basically said screw it on that rent payment and told him to take me to court for eviction...We went to court, I had a 2 day writ and moved out this past weekend. So now that you know the "details", there was anopther reason I refused to pay rent and thats what leads me to my question. The landlords sister was the tenant upstairs and a day or two after we moved in we "discovered" she was a Paranoid Schizophrenic (sp). She was constantly coming down INTO our house, checking liscence plates of everyone who came over, accusing us of stealing her "eyeglasses" then asking her to help her find them. She called the cops one day when we were doing a friends brakes in the garage and told the police there was a undertaker in the garage ready to take her away and she wanted to talk to President Bush this instance. I todl the landlord of this the 1st week we were there and he said she must of ran out of pills and things would get better with her. It never did get better with her. Now my question is, do I have any legal rights to countersue and somehow have the lease broken, or am I just pretty much screwed?
  23. Has there ever been a trade that large??
  24. I have plans to take my daughter to State Fair tonight. But it will be just me and her going, my daughter is 8 years old, which has some relevance to what I am about to ask. What am I suppose to do with her if I have to go to the bathroom? When she was younger and we were in big crowds I would just take her with me into the bathroom, but that wont fly anymore. I don't really want to leave her outside by herself. Any suggestions?
