  1. Doug Melvin has never been the type of GM to trade a guy before a season. Last couple years they have... Signed Garza Signed Lohse Signed Aramis Ramirez Traded for Zack Greinke These were all big market names that everyone (Maybe besides Lohse) were surprised ended up in Milwaukee. I struggle to understand why all of a sudden Melvin would trade arguably his best SP, unless he has something else up his sleeve. Especially in a division with arguably the best ran franchise in the NL with the Cardinals. A Pirates team coming off back to back playoff appearances, and a Cubs team coming fast.
  2. Man that middle of the order for the Cubs is going to rake.
  3. Watching that clip again, man it's crazy to see how young Prince and Rickie looked back then. Prince Fielder hit 7th for us that day.
  4. To think, this team could be 2-0 right now. It wasnt pretty but the young Bucks took care of business. This is what they were suppose to do. Quick summary.. THE GOOD - OJ Mayo continues to look like the guy we hoped we signed last year. 5 of 7 from downtown. - Brandon Knight with another solid line of 13points 7ast and 7reb - LARRY SANDERS! Is back, he grabbed 15 rebounds with 4 blocks and multiple alter shots. Awesome having him back. - Jabari Parker came out aggressive and notched his first career double double. - John Henson got into the game early and contributed with 5 blocks. - THE CROWD!! Holy crap was that awesome to see and hear. THE BAD - They really struggled keeping Philadelphia out of the paint, especially when Sanders went to the bench. - Early in the 1st half the lack of rebounding showed its ugly head again. - Khris Middleton continues his transformation to Monta Ellis. I have no idea why he feels the need to continue to force shots, but holy crap dude. Pass it once in awhile. It was awesome to see Kidd start to adjust with his rotation, Henson came in 1st off the bench for the bigs and Greak Freak played a little more as well. I am starting to become a big believer in Kidd. I do think he likes to ride with the "hot" group out there a little to long. I understand that we went on our run with Bayless and Wolters on the court together but those are 2 guys I dont really want to see on the court at the same time very often. I also think it's cool to see how much OJ Mayo has seem to grow up, his pass on the fast break to let Jabari throw down as so unselfish of him, great to see. Speaking of Jabari, I would love to see him more aggressive. It's like someone needs to remind him "Hey man, YOU ARE JABARI PARKER!". Take the mid range shot if they give it to you, kid. All in all, good to get the win at home, and good for the new owners and Jason Kidd on getting their first win with Milwaukee. Onto, Washington!
  5. Thank you, patrickgpe And I completely agree with the Knight analysis here. He attacked the rim so much in the 1st half and his ability to blow by Kemba Walker multiple times and get into the paint was actually quite shocking. His defense in OT on Walker was also great. Kemba pulled a shot out of his you know what to beat him. I think my favorite part about Jason Kidd as a coach is, the fact that he can look at someone like OJ Mayo and if he's whining he can just tell him to shut up. Basically say "I'm a first ballot hall of fame PG, I have been to the finals and won a gold medal. Please tell me something I don't know". Not that I agree with the thought that just because he is a former player he knows everything but the fact that these young guys on this team at least have to respect Kidd and what he is saying because of what he has done.
  6. Well, there was so much good in that game but to end up blowing a 24 point lead and lose in OT sucks. No matter what. There was so much to dissect from this game. Short version.. The Good - Brandon Knight played well at point. - Larry Sanders looks back. He frustrated Jefferson all night. - OJ Mayo looked good, especially on defense. - The passing in the first half was about as good as you can do it. - The team defense played awesome, holding Charlotte to 40.6% shooting on the night. The Bad - To many times settled for long 2s on offensive possessions, especially late in the game. - Dudley and Zaza playing over Henson and Greak Freak is mind blowing and annoying. - The rebounding was horrible. A big reason why Charlotte got back into the game. - Khris Middleton as much as a I like him took soooo many stupid shots late in the game. - Parker looked way to antsy. Overall, it really really sucks that they lost but they were up 24, against a good team on the road. That's an encouraging sign. They don't know how to finish games yet. Besides rebounding the ball, they outplayed Charlotte for most of the game. Once Kidd figures out his rotation more and Parker settles down this team could actually be really fun to watch.
  7. Am I the only one who doesn't think he should be on the wall of honor either? Since 2009 he has been our best starting pitcher for the entire season 2 years according to FIP. Those years he beat out this great bunch for that honor Randy Wolf Jeff Suppan Chris Narveson Dave Bush Shaun Marcum Manny Parra Brandon Looper Man, that was hard to just type. I would rather retire Sabathia's number before Gallardo. (half blue)
  8. Lets see.. 1. His best player (Braun) is having his worst season ever in the majors and has been battling injuries all year. 2. His other 2 legit stars are since the all star break.. 1. Lucroy - .748 OPS 2. Gomez - .735 OPS 3. He lost his 7th inning set up guy and his closer, forcing him to use Will Smith way to much and if it wasn't for K-Rod there is a good chance the Brewers are at or under .500 at this point. 4. His best options at 1B are still Mark Reynolds and Lyle Overbay (I'm looking at you Doug Melvin) 5. His All Star Shortstop last year for some reason morphed into Adam Everett. Yeah he is not getting fired, and the fact that we are even in this position is amazing. Not saying its because of Ron, but to fire him after everything would be silly.
  9. Pirates win. Thanks Tigers for having your season slump right now.
  10. Come on Luc... this is where you keep your MVP push going.
  11. St. Louis lost, and I have to keep reminding myself that Pitt without McCutchen are actually in 2nd. Jordy Mercer is batting 3rd today for the Pirates.
  12. I know we don't want to think this way but what if this is the Braun we are going to get without PEDs? I know he has been battling injuries but what if this is the guy he is now?
  13. This Cub offense at this time next year could be scary good.
  14. It's so exciting that we have 2 young studs to look forward to watching next year, not just 1 but 2 of the best young players in the league. I also really like the Marshall signing. This team is going to be 10x more fun to watch next year.
  15. I just wanted to add, screw Jason Lane. I swear that dude killed us so much.
  16. The last thing Carlos is thinking about right now is baseball.
  17. I really want Wiggins. I would be fine with Parker obviously, I just think Wiggins ceiling is so much higher. Put him at the 2 and let Greek Freak play the 3 and you could have one of the best duo's in the league in a couple years. Knight Wiggins FreaK Illyasova Henson/Sanders.
  18. Scooter's OPS currently sits at .820. Good for 23rd in the NL overall and 3rd among qualified 2nd baseman.
  19. This might be the funniest thing the Brewers have ever done. The crying baby in the background is such gold.
  20. 6:40pm CDT for home weekday games 1:10pm CDT for get-a-way games. 7:10pm CDT for Friday night games 6:10pm CDT for Saturday games (Or 3pm) 1:10pm CDT for Sunday games Works for me.
  21. That was also the first time all year San Diego threw out a baserunner....
