    True. Without looking up the numbers, I wonder how much Damian has bunted the last few years considering his position in the lineup. One has to remember in that situation that it is a force play, too.

    Absolutely. They can contend and will contend in the east as weak as it is. An injury or two will tax them more than most, though. The guy's you mention are nice but realistically, other than Patterson, no better than what they have.

    This is why they play the games. Allen and Garnett have played alot of games for their ages. The Celtics also traded a lot of their depth and have a roster full of nobodies behind the "Big Three". Not saying Boston won't be a contender, but to annoint them in the East at this point seems a bit premature.

    Anyone know Linebrink's Veteran Leadership Index? I wasn't surprised they went and got Linebrink, but count me in with those that are surprised they gave up what they did. I'd love to be in the Brewer front office to know what they really think and know about Inman. I trust this is part of a long term and short term plan.

    At 33 with a lot of games behind the plate, it's just as likely he'll continue to stink. As for other pitchers, ESPN insider did report the scouted Jose Contreras' last start.

    I don't like the new format over there. It's even slow with roadrunner. The Cubs trolls have completely ruined it anyway. One, you can't have an actual serious discussion without them chiming in. Two, well, their choice of topics say it all. I mean, really, don't you guys have a thread discussing Bob Euker's gender?http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif Granted, it wasn't exactly layered with great thought but we weren't claiming it to be. I always thought it was just great fun.

    I used to be like DHOF. I still think my initial banning here was weak but, eh, it's not my decision to make. Anyway, I doubt there's a better or more informed message board regarding the Brewers to come to and those that want serious baseball talk will always navigate here. Negative press is still press that might bring some more informed opinions. Good luck and cheers

    You guys and gals oughta be quite proud of your site. It's easily the best Brewer forum on the web. It took me a long time to come around to it, but I can't imagine any other place to talk serious about the Brewers or baseball in general. I've certainly made myself unpopular but if anyone asked me, I'd always send them here if they didn't like the current setup at brewers.com or were just looking for a place to talk baseball. It's not the place for me to talk baseball as it's more of a fun distraction for me, baseball that is, but I do visit everyday to see what tidbits I can pick up about the team. I'm sure there's more and more new members everyday but that can't be a bad thing if you're a Brewer fan...they must be doing something right then!

    At least two good baseball towns are well-represented this year, and not a team like the Marlins (yuck). Most friends of mine that like baseball are really excited about this matchup simply because of that reason.
