  1. So does this make Hughes expendable while his value is down.
  2. For the record I did not say I wanted Derrek Lee, I just dont think Melvin has much trust in Gamel. I think he will sign the best one available(not named Fielder)
  3. OF-----Hart,Gomez,Morgan,Gamel,Gindel- I think when Braun comes back, Gindel will be sent down. I dont think they will sign Akoi IF------Derrek Lee, Weeks,Gonzalez,Ramirez,Itztuis,Ishikawa--- Yes I think we will sign Lee to a similar deal to Gonzalez C----- Lucroy,Kotteras SP---Gallardo,Grienke,Marcum,Narveson,Estradra or Parra----I think Wolf gets traded for a couple decent relievers RP----Axford,K-Rod(although I could see him getting traded too)Veras,Loe,Braddock,Kintzler,Parra or Estrada
  4. Lets sign JD Drew. Could play him in left.
  5. The answer is so obvious----- Ryan must have shook hands with Russell Braynan transmitting an unbeleliveable amount of testrone hense not testing positive for a PED. No blue intended.
  6. Lets look at the rest of our roster. I think it is a high possiblity that we trade Wolf., He is coming off a decent year, I think he has thrown 200+ innings the last few years. I am not saying we are going to get much but he could be our salary relief.
  7. I have probally said it 10 times before. I would love to see M innie Monoso make it in. My vote goes to Raines,Bagwell, and Larkin.
  8. I get why he said both Barmes and Pena. Looking at free agent first baseman the only real names that stand out to me are Derrek Lee, Carlos Pena, and Mike Cuddyer.(Besisde Fielder and Pujols) . Of them Lee and Cuddyer are right handed. I would guess the Brewers are looking for a left handed bat and while Pena is not a great hitter he can walk(106bb's last year) and he does have power. It would seem to be that he would be better in each catagorie than Lee oe Cuddyer. We could look at comeback year from Adam Dunn, and should be able to pick him up somewhat cheap depending how much of his salary we would have to pay but the question really would be is he going to bounce back?To me the best answer would be to move Hart to 1st(if he can handle the move) and to put Gamel in the outfileld and sign someone like Scott Hairston to platoon . but then we could have three platoon situations(CF,3rd,RF) Barmes may hit a little worse than Yuni B but the whole reason we would pick him up is for his D.
  9. I think it would have been great if Jim Gantner would have been throwing to Joaquin Andujar. Then when Andujar gives the ball back to Gumby he pops him one in the nose.
  10. I want a Nolan Ryan rematch
  11. I have tried everything. I have been up & down my entire life. 180 out of high school, 235 in college, by the end of college 167, got married and had a child(290), started an exercise routine(245), moved and jobless(290), had some chest problems which led me to really exercise(205), job issues(250), other issues(290). Now I am around 235. Everytime I lost the weight I said I will never let my self get out of shape again. I no longer say that. When I exercised and dieted I would push to an extreme and would lose a big amount of weight in a matter of months. I have read and tried many things from Body for Life to the Atkins. My favorite by far would be the 7 pillars of health which includes drinking water, sleep, moderate exercise, & stress reduction. I use to freak out if I missed a workout or ate something that was bad for me. While I am working at being thinner, I am pretty content with the shape I am in. I play basketball once a week with guys 15 years younger than me, I ran 2 5k's and a 10k this year, looking at maybe one more this year. I dont do these things because I am good at them ,most the things I am below average at. I do them because I have the ablity to do them. I would rather fail than always wonder how I would have done. My routine includes a walk in the morning if time allows. Anywhere from 3000 to 4000 steps at my target heartrate. Otherwise I put 20 to 30 minutes in on the exercise bike. I try to do the same thing on my lunch hour. And 5 to 10 minutes of weights in the evening. I will bike to work(only a mile or so) if time allows. My breakfast would be an egg, yogurt, and a banana, an apple for mid morning snack. Lunch would be a spinich salad with chicken, grapes and a fiber bar. Maybe some strawberries for a late afternoon snack. Dinner is what ever my wife makes. It can be something good for me but maybe not. My big downfalls are candy & pizza. I think I will always need to watch my weight but I dont feel obcessed about it.
  12. Just guessing here---Trevor Plouffe. Can play 3rd ,can play short, not much of a bat, has some power, better D than what we are running out there right now, great arm, could take over for Counsell, should not cost a lot.
  13. I am all about having K-Rod close. He is on my fantasy team. I need the saves. So Doug give him 17.5 million for next year. Make a middle age man in central Wisconsin happy.
  14. Just released, I know he is not hitting good right now but might be a better option than Kotsay. they both play the same positions(LF,RF,1B). He hits lefties at a good clip. Of course they could just release Kotsay and keep Gamel up too.
  15. Cant sleep and I am somewhat bored so I started looking up stuff on wikipedia. I had no idea that Jeter is close as he is to 3000 hits, maybe I live under a rock. Also saw that Lou Whitaker and Alan Trammell are next to each other(120 & 121) only 4 hits away from each other. Another interesting fact-- Jason Kendall has more hits than Keith Hernandez, Yogi Berra, Don Mattingly, Harmon Kilebrew and Johnny Bench. Mark Grudzielanek has more hits than four time batting champ Bill Madlock.
  16. Just doing a little reading from the Baseball Prospectus. Wilson was hit by 12 pitches last year (compared to his 14 walks/388 plate apperances). I dont even want to think what his .278 obp would have been if he would not have been sitting on the plate. Ouch.
  17. I dont want to get all technical but isnt called the Lombardi Trophy
  18. Their is 7 day DL?? I think I remember that about 20 or 25 years ago.
  19. I got tickets from my wife for Christmas. I live about 3 1/2 hours away. My goal was to stay with my brother in law who lives an hour away from Milwaukee. I asked 3 of my friends but none of them could make it. Finally I told my son( who does not like baseball, but loves NASCAR) he had to go. I had a lot go wrong, got in a fight with my wife minutes before we left because she left her camera at her school. I got a late start, got lost, cracked my bumper in a parking garage, put $20 in the machine in the parking garage($6 fee) to find out it does not give change back, when I got back to the parking garage I found out it was a hotel parking garage and that you need a key to get to the stairway. Out of all the things that went wrong, I really enjoyed myself, plus my son wants to go back. I have a few observations and a few questions. First thing, I needed a decent camera. Next I will get a grab bage right away next year.I was in line and abou 10 back when they ran out. (Instead I just fed the parking meter that money). I was very impressed with Zach Braddock and Scooter Gennette(sp?) and Wil Nieves . Braddock signed the sweet spot, which I have rarely seen. I loved getting the young guys autographs. Some of the younger guys seemed to have an attitude but maybe they are not big on that many people. Wanted Lucroy & Gamel but did not get in line soon enough What is proper autograpgh ediquette? Both my son and I took a ball and wanted to get the ball and postcard autographed. Some were more than generous but some refused which I understand for long lines. Is it okay that I get in the back of the line and get the other postcards autographed? I guess I am not sure. Im not a guy who get this stuff and puts it on Ebay. I just like collecting it for myself. I think they get a lot of guys who put it on ebay. I did get a smile out of Brandon Boggs. After he signed my ball, I thanked him and said welcome to the Brewers, and told him that I wanted the Brewers to trade for him 3 to 4 years ago but Doug Melvin must not have started reading my posts until this year. I would go back again next year, but I have more of a plan in mind what to do now. While
  20. Even if protection does exist, McGehee has always hit behind Fielder. I don't see what effect Fielder is having on McGehee. Maybe Im wrong but I feel that Casey RBI total has something to do with Prince OBP. So we can't fill holes because then we can't fill other holes? These are potential aces. I think they will be signed for a mighty high amount. I dont think we will have much money to sign high priced free agents , and I dont think we will want to give away a draft pick for a Type A free agent with the farm system being so depleted.
  21. Not big on this trade at all. Seems like we are shooting for the stars in 2011 if this is true. Lets look at down the road. We have no firstbase man ready to take over for Prince next year if no extension is signed, Same with Weeks. So now we end up with holes in CF,SS,1B,and 2B. Plus our catcher is not an offensive powerhouse and I really expect Mcghee production to go way down once Prince is gone. If we sign Greinke and/or Marcum to extensions it will not give us much room to negotiate with free agents to fill our week areas. If we dont sign either we may be looking at a ton of draft picks who may or may not be ready by 2016 or 2017. I think this team could be looking at what the Giants did and think we now know the magic formula. I would rather explore my options with other pitchers
  22. I dont get this one. I thought between Lucroy and Kotteras they were OK. My only thought is that Kotteras will be shipped somewhere.
  23. I know his stats look awful, but I would like Andrew Miller. I would like to see what he could do working out of the bullpen.
  24. The only ones are would consider signing to a multi year deal would be De La Rosa & Garland even though he is a 5 time 12 game loser. I would take a 1 year deal on Freddy Garcia. Im torn on Bush. I have seen him have some great games plus he has the only post season win for the Crew since Reagan was in office, but he has had some awful games too.If I had to choose between Garcia & Bush, Garcia would get my vote. Would love to see Cappy back.
