  1. According to the Green Bay news, there was a tornado near Clayton that damaged a few homes. It was probably an EF-0 or EF-1. There are actually snowflakes in the forecast for Friday night. Some of the models have accumulations in the Northwoods. Milwaukee last had May snow in 1990, Madison recorded a trace on 5/12/2006.
  2. For anyone interested in trying P90X without spending $140, someone has posted most of the videos on Youtube. They probably will get taken down eventually, but it is useful to see the various exercises. I have been mixing a few into my running routine--they are insanely intense but you improve quickly.
  3. I haven't been watching the game, but I just noticed that Gallardo ended with 121 pitches! What the heck is Macha thinking? Are we trying to destroy our ace? I can excuse most of his in-game managing, but he frequently leaves our most important arm in the game far too long. Hopefully they are not planning on skipping Narveson this time though.
  4. I'm also on a break from the Brewers. I plan on going at least through the Padres series.
  5. I still think there will be a major dip this year. The best they will do is about 2.7 million this year, unless there is a major pennant push. It also does not help that many fans are emptying their pocketbooks on the Bucks.
  6. 11-17 5+10+2=17
  7. I'm not sure why they issued a tornado watch, there is very little risk of tornadoes over Southern WI. There is a risk of damaging winds/hail, especially over western WI. Madison should get hit by line of storms in the next few hours. Milwaukee will see whatever junk is leftover later this evening.
  8. The 2001 team wasn't that bad. They stayed in contention until the sweep suits incident at the end of June.
  9. I have. It was Trevor Hoffman actually, in 2007. Padres fans continued to cheer him.
  10. I also had a problem with the relentless booing of Gagne, so we probably aren't going to agree on this one. At least the Brewers fans are waiting now until Hoffman actually gives something up, instead of the preemptive booing that Gagne was getting.
  11. I am embarrassed for the Brewers fans that are booing Trevor. I have never seen a future hall of famer booed by his home fans before.
  12. Yikes. 4 straight changeups and he knocks the 4th one out.
  13. The purpose of "Hells Bells" is to intimidate the opponent, but this time, I'm terrified.
  14. Saying he's too old is the easy answer but it isn't the right answer. Jamie Moyer is still pitching at 47. Hoffman is in great physical shape. His fastball velocity is the same as last year. He isn't locating his fastball, which could happen to a 20, 30, or 40 year old pitcher. The lack of changeups is puzzling, however. I do not really know what is wrong but I think he should be given a chance to turn it around.
  15. Uggh, that one hurt more than any other loss this year. Unfortunately, pulling Trevor is not a simple decision. I think he should get a few more chances. Hopefully he can pitch in some blowouts before he has to go into a 1-run save situation again.
  16. Has anyone in the Milwaukee media asked Trevor why he stopped throwing changeups? He threw all fastballs in his last outing and only a few changeups tonight. I refuse to believe that this game is over. Rally time.
  17. I thought that Kottaras was going to catch Wolf every time this year.
  18. Counsell has put up better numbers than Escobar, with better defense. Escobar is the future, but Counsell continues to prove that he deserves to be the #1 bat off the bench and start multiple times per week.
  19. I had a GREAT time at the game, especially after seeing a few losses in a row. I can't remember the last time I have been to game with that small of a crowd. It was announced at 25,000 but there were only about 15-17,000 actually there. I'm sure the Bucks game had something to do with it. There were only about 5,000 people left to see the 9-run bottom 8th. It is somewhat of a pain driving in from Madison on a weeknight, but it was worth it for the $1 dogs and the most runs that I have ever seen the Brewers score in person (out of hundreds of games).
  20. I like our style of protecting our hitters--beating the opposing team 20-0. Kudos to Macha for not giving in to "old school" baseball, at least in this instance.
  21. At least we fixed most of the inconsistency in our pythagorean record.
  22. The key to tonight is working the pitch counts and getting to the Cubs' bullpen by the 5th or 6th.
