  1. It's a really small sample, but Ryan has an OPS of 1.852 in 11 PA against Villy. That might have factored into it.
  2. Did anyone see Corey take that first pitch for a ball? Amazing. In the past he swings at that 9 times out of 10.
  3. Since it only happens once in a blue moon, I'll gladly put up with ESPN announcers for a better picture.
  4. Why hasn't he been starting already? We could have used the extra offense this week.I think it mostly has to do with Macha wanting to bat Edmonds against righties, aided by Harts poor spring and 2009.
  5. Corey Hart walks and continues to look good at the plate. Props to Macha for starting him.
  6. Kottaras has been doing a nice job of blocking Wolf's pitches tonight.
  7. I just worry about Prince injuring himself in those types of displays. I think it might have been precisely because he was on National TV that he was so upset.
  8. Wow, nice catch in center by Mather. I guess that's only fair after those two errors.
  9. Good start from Wolf to get out of the inning without giving up a run. I hope we can give him some support early.
  10. Yeah for a better lineup! Yeah for a lineup without Gomez hitting second and some LH/RH seperation. It will be interesting to see how Edmonds handles CF. I agree that Gerut might have been a better choice than Hart against a pitcher like Carpenter. Hopefully he proves us wrong.
  11. It will be harder to sign Weeks right now because of his injuries. If he gets one full season in at full health and puts up big numbers, his contract value goes up with it. I'm willing to bet that Weeks' agent knows this and is probably going to wait and see how this season plays out before he starts serious negotiation. Weeks has 2 years to go before becoming a FA, all he has to do is put up one year of above average 2B numbers and he will command a lot of money on the FA market.
  12. I'm sure it's been said, but I really hate this Saturday afternoon blackout crap.
  13. http://images.yuku.com/image/jpeg/bde35dda95b18c0d6a8ec6ca3f93c78013ab5c8.jpg "You could get the greatest pillow of all time for the money these guys are bringing in." - Bill Schroeder
  14. This is great news. As we all know, Sheets became a big injury liability after he signed his 4-year deal with the Brewers, but he was still very valuable and helped lead us to the playoffs. Even if Gallardo has some injuries down the road, his upside is too good to pass up. He is only 24 years old and has put up a 200 K season. I don't think the Brewers will be able to sign Prince and this is the next best thing.
  15. That's a big series win against a tough Rockies team. The bullpen was excellent today pitching 5 scoreless innings. Macha did a nice job with his managing moves today. Kotteras had some trouble blocking balls today, but that was about the only negative. I'll give DD a pass today based on some iffy calls and defensive miscues.
  16. That fastball from Hawkins was embarrassing for Seth Smith. I hope his family isn't watching.
  17. "ENCH" "OELLER" or "AGRUDER" would earn a few laughs.
  18. It was hard to envision the Brewers leading this game 5-4 in the 6th inning way back in the 1st inning was DD couldn't find the strike zone. I'm liking this bullpen so far......and the return of Carey McGehee.
  19. Well that was not worth watching. One of the panelists tried to explain that the payroll makes no difference if you don't have "good baseball people" as evidenced by the fact that the Yankees didn't win a World Series in the '80. I guess that explains it. Now lets get some "good baseball people" in our front office and start winning some World Series.
  20. ESPN's "Outside the Lines" is going to do a short piece on this today.
  21. If Coffey gets out of this with 0 runs scoring it could be huge.
