  1. "That's not Fielder. That's not McGehee."
  2. Who are these announcers? The "color" guy is terrible.
  3. It makes no sense to evaluate a trade in hindsight. You have to be able to assign some probabilities to how you think a prospect may pan out, compare that to what you got in return, then evaluate the trade based on that evaluation at the time.

  5. All I'm saying is that logically you would think it would be more difficult to actually finish with a no hitter under the conditions Jackson was in regardless if it was his fault. It is quite impressive in a bizarro way. I wasn't making any statement about the dominance of his performance.
  6. That's one way to spin it.You don't think my statement is accurate?
  7. Wasn't his no hitter more difficult because he walked so many people and threw so many pitches?
  8. What happens in this thread when Yuni forgets how to hit and continues his steady play of bottom shelf defense? I was also going to say that I am amazed that people are puffing out their chests over the play of Yuniesky Betancourt, but we can't be the first fanbase to have seen that.
  9. You don't need any statistics to realize he is an exceptionally terrible defensive shortstop. It should be obvious if you have watched the amount of games I'm assuming most people have watched.
  10. I would also like to know. Yuni is probably the worst regular SS I've ever seen and my baseball memory goes back to about 1990 or so. Using him in an argument against defensive stats is pretty funny. He's basically a tree stump out there with an average at best arm.
  11. His point to begin with was that McGehee hasn't been hitting better for 28 days. He's been hitting better for 8. It is misleading to say he's hit better over a 28 game stretch when the first 20 games of that stretch wasn't any better than what he had done on the season. He's been hitting well since the break: .323 BA. He started to get a pulse down in Arizona. But again, it really hasn't been since the break. It has been for 8 games. In his first 11 games after the break he had a line of .250/.263/250. McGehee has now hit really well in the last 9 games with the solid game tonight.
  12. When I read things like this article the only impression I draw is that it is extremely odd that someone is trying so hard to prove to me that he is stupid.
  13. I am not saying Betancourt is good, he is not. Just trying to limit the exaggeration. His point to begin with was that McGehee hasn't been hitting better for 28 days. He's been hitting better for 8. It is misleading to say he's hit better over a 28 game stretch when the first 20 games of that stretch wasn't any better than what he had done on the season.
  14. Of course it counts, but I thought it was a really funny juxtaposition to give a small sample alert of 28 days when the sample alert should have been for 8 days with the one huge day having a massive impact. I'm not sure why he picked 28 days (I'm assuming he means games). In the last 8 games he has an OPS of 1.286. In the 7 games prior to the 3 HR game, he had an OPS of .899 (very encouraging). In the 20 games prior to the 8 game hot streak, he had an OPS of .588. Why 28 days? I have no clue.
  15. What does it look like if you remove the monster 3 HR day?
  16. I have a close friend who works for the Brewers that has always told me that Braun is one of the most approachable players on the team.
  17. Brilliant logic. Pitching inside on hitters isn't okay, but intentionally drilling them is.
  18. I'm waiting for us to score 2 runs in an inning doing nothing but bunting.
  19. What did DM give up for this guy? It must have been a lot because getting a 2B that can hit 5th is expensive. Those guys don't grow on trees.
  20. I love Lopez hitting 5th.
