I initially got excited when he hit it but immediately figured it was 10 feet short of the track after his reaction. What a shocker that it actually went out.
Actually, just move Weeks to SS and call up Green to play 2B instead. That way you can leave Braun in LF. It is fantasy land, but it puts things in perspective I think.
Weeks is 12th in the NL in SLG. I'd definitely prefer that he hit somewhere in the order with more men on base. He could end up with 40 2B and 30 HR but less than 70 RBI.
Yost made much worse in game decisions than Roenicke and Macha completely lost his team. People keep trying to downplay the player management aspect but the in game decisions don't really change things all that much either. The difference between starting Kotsay in CF and starting Gomez in CF for 6 or 7 games is almost nil as well. Most of the things I dislike about him are the same things I dislike about every manager in baseball so hard for me to downgrade him much for any of it. I usually don't feel like smacking him upside the head every time he opens his mouth like Yost and Macha and his players seem to try for him, that is about all I can ask. Do you think that happens if he has this starting pitching staff?
It short hopped right into him. He had no chance to catch it when the ball skipped up higher than you'd expect, but it at least hit him square. It was just thrown so hard it shot up into the air behind him.
