  1. Dave Bush sucks! ...I'm sorry but he just does. The Brewers can't allow this charade to continue with him much longer...he is the weakest link on the staff that could be strengthened greatly by someone else (Villanueva then Yo). I hope Melvin continues to be proactive and notices these problems before it's too late (like the 3B situation and calling up Braun)
  2. Really don't like the matchup for us in this one...Hamels is their best arm, and the Brewers, whether you love the new team or not, are still the Brewers, and we've seen tough losses burn them in the past (last season's two 10 game losing streaks anyone?) I am very uneasy about this game tonight...
  3. I couldn't agree more...I have that same exact feeling. This is the type of game that has sent the Brewers of the past 15 years into "fades" that they don't seem to recover from. We shall see what this team is made of, but I am very wary at this point tonight...
  4. Someone please just tell me that Jemile will be signed sealed and delivered by football season!?!?!
  5. I've read quite a lot from the knowledgeable posters on this great board over the past few days about the Brewers seemingly looking more towards a college bat, such as Ryan Braun, or Tulo if he falls past the Mariners. Hearing Jim Callis' and Jim Powel's conversation in the pre-game today without either even mentioning Cam Maybin as a possibilty for the Brewers surprised me greatly, and has me somewhat concerned that the Crew may overlooking this talented prospect... It seems like the buzz in the baseball world, and on this board for this matter, has shifted away from Maybin (who was widely linked to the Brewers in mocks for sometime) and towards a player like Braun, a late riser, much like Rodgers was last year...? I must say I'm still in my infancy in following all the aspects of the baseball draft (this is the third year I've really followed it...so forgive me if this post reaks of a novice), but I just have this feeling now that Maybin will be passed over...much like say Homer Bailey was last year in favor of Rodgers. Regarding Maybin, he'd be my pick, as feel he is a far more talented BASEBALL PLAYER than Braun, Tulo, etc. And when you have a pick this high, you try everything you can to take the best player available regardless of position. Am I off base with worrying? Do the Brewers still seemingly like Maybin at #5? Were Callis and Powell simply overlooking him? What gives???
  6. Maybin. I sense Jack Z. could have something up his sleeve....but in the end I just don't see how he can pass on Cameron.
  7. This is my third year where I've really gotten into following the baseball draft, and I think I'm going to be on the Maybin bandwagon this year! Zimmerman sounds like a solid pick, but does he project to be a better overall player than Maybin? I'm not saying he's going to be Griffey, but geez, a 5-tool caliber CF is awfully attractive. Right now, my board looks like this... 1. Justin Upton 2. Alex Gordon 3. Cameron Maybin 4. Ryan Zimmerman
  8. On 7/19/04.... Gary Bennett > Pudge FREE BENNETT!!!!!!!!
  9. Man, we (myself included) got all excited about Hendrickson tonight....for this?? I hate to say it but right now, he just sucks. I'd like to see Wise as the 5th starter if this is how Hendrickson is gonna act every damn time he gets to the bigs.
  10. Oh the trials and tribulations of being a Brewers fan.....http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/frown.gif
  11. Oh God, 1 more out....cmon Danny!!!!!!
  12. To win the game....move to 41-34....and get into 3rd place in the division. Worry about tomorrow.....TOMORROW!!!!!
  13. I personally don't want to see Brooks K in....at anytime....in ANY game. The only time I like to see him is when he pinch hits and swings for the himalayas on three straight pitches. I mean where was Mike Adams in that situation. Guys I don't care if it was 6 runs. Every game is important now. We have to go out there and try to win not just "get guys some work." You play to win the game, and I don't care if it means Brooks doesn't get a precious inning. We don't need him in the bullpen anyway.
  14. 10-9 get Kolb a ready!!!!!!!!
  15. Couldn't agree more and I was going to bring that up as well. Why in the freakin world was Brooks K in this game?? Moves like that make me skeptical that this team wants to truly win. Ned, you suck just because of that move...man I'm pissed!!!!!!!!!!!!http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/mad.gif
  16. I can't believe we're going to lose this game http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/frown.gif
  17. 7-1....can we feel safe yet?? http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/ohwell.gif
  18. HEEEEEEE Popped it up...... Oh Brady...*shakes head*
  19. Double-mint, Double-mint Cousell!
  20. man Santos can't pitch during the day, what the hell!? better be 4-1 after this half inning...
  21. Brooks K, take a pitch man....it was 3-0 with the bases loaded!!!!
  22. Very exciting first day of the draft! I really liked the first five picks, especially getting Josh Baker in Round 4 and Angel Salome in Round 5! I can only assume Salome dropped in the draft due to his lack of height (5'7"), but this isn't the NFL, and that shouldn't be too much of detriment to him. I read that at least one scout considered his arm to be in the class of anyone, at any level, in the SPORT of baseball which is very impressive! He does bear a striking similarily to a young Pudge as well! I LOVE Lou Palmisano down in Beloit, but I have to think Angel may be the best catcher in our system now! He'll be very exciting to follow! I believe Baker will have a very solid career and was a great pick in Round 4. Taking Mark Rogers was also a nice pick in my opinion, even though I prefered Bailey. Rogers looked great in the highlights they showed tonight on the local evening news, and I'm very excited to see him pitch. I know its a dream, but maybe someday Sheets & Rogers will be OUR Wood & Prior! http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif All in all, a great day one. The top guys are young, but they are all very talented, which is ultimately the reason why I still have a lot of faith for this franchise in the second half of the decade of the '00s!
