  1. and in the absence of mike brosseau, pablo reyes just might be the club's emergency catcher.
  2. he was just recalled today . . .
  3. if alex hall happens to test positive for covid-19 while he waits out the seven-day dfa period, the designation is voided and he continues to earn major league service time and pay on the covid-19 injured list. no word if hall made a beeline for the home of omar narvaez and asked him to cough on him repeatedly.
  4. alex hall has been designated for assignment. the brewers have seven days to try to trade, release or outright him to the minor leagues. if he clears outright waivers, he cannot refuse the minor league assignment. the roster is at 39 players, with one player on the special covid-19 injured list.
  5. as stated on the initial post, a player can only bypass outright waivers if there are at least three players on the covid-19 injured list. when a player is placed on the covid-19 injured list, it's like being placed on the 60-day injured list, in that in removes that player from the 40-man roster. and when a replacement player is added, he's added to the 40-man roster. you may recall last season when blaine hardy had his contract selected during a covid outbreak. when the brewers decided to cut him, they simply returned him to the minors (and removed him from the 40-man) without outright waivers.
  6. luke barker has been recalled from class aaa nashville. maybe he'll get to make an appearance this time.
  7. in being recalled, it's his second tour of duty with the brewers.
  8. inf/of has been recalled from class aaa nashville. it's his first turn of duty with the club.
  9. also need to factor in kolten wong being drilled twice last night. the brewers could really be hurting in the infield until willy adames returns.
  10. unsure of the severity. puts the brewers in a tight position, because brosseau is the backup shortstop and the backup third baseman, and willy adames' return is delayed. i wouldn't be surprised if pablo reyes is recalled with a pitcher optioned, or if reyes is recalled with brosseau going on the 10-day injured list.
  11. as the thread title states, his contract was selected. it is possible that hall will be optioned to class a wisconsin, but the more likely outcome is that he'll be placed on outright waivers. any team will have a chance to claim him.
  12. yes, likely that, but i'm curious if vaccination status factored in to the decision. i don't know what hall's vaccination status is, but wouldn't it be something if that factored in to the club's decision?
  13. the brewers currently have two catchers on the restricted list in omar narvaez and pedro severino.
  14. hall is likely a stopgap measure, given the proximity of grand chute to milwaukee. he'll likely clear outright waivers if the brewers wish to remove him from the 40-man roster. i imagine that one of mario feliciano or alex jackson will be recalled and join the club tomorrow. the brewers (and hall) are fortunate that the timber rattlers were on a homestand in grand chute.
  15. omar narvaez is placed on the covid-19 injured list, and is removed from the 40-man roster. alex hall has his contract selected from class a wisconsin. it's his first time on a major league contract, and he has three minor league options. the 40-man roster remains at capacity.
  16. alex hall has his contract selected from class-a wisconsin. he has three minor league options. if the club has three players on the covid-19 injured list, the brewers can return hall to the minor leagues without outright waivers.
  17. unfortunate news for the brewers.
  18. the brewers are currently carrying 14 pitchers on their 26-man roster.
  19. it's almost as if you could call him alexander the great.
  20. jason alexander has his contract selected for the first time in his career. he has three minor league options. to make room on the 40-man, jake cousins was transferred to the 60-day injured list. the 40-man roster remains at capacity.
  21. jake cousins has been transferred to the 60-day injured list, removing him from the 40-man roster.
