  1. mcclung is almost a lock, and you will get counsell if you wait
  2. sounds like hardy does what adrian gonzalez does, just save it all, and dish it out in the offseason...
  3. wisconsin sports rule: Gallardo had a success on another message board I belong to, not SCN, but it was signed in pen on a card, and he said it was really bad, so I would save your stamps if I were you... I think off the top of my head, Dave Bush is the best signer ttm, I'm sure jschris can verify this? But i think he is around 90% and there have been sporatic successes from Hardy, so I would give it a shot...but it is generally a long wait for him...
  4. just so you guys know, braun has not had a mail return since last season according to SCN, and Prince is a 12% return rate TTM... seriously, there is no reason to pay that for braun, if you can't get him for free with all of the brewers team signings, then you are not trying hard enough... but save your stamps if you want to try anything through the mail for him, because he stopped...
  5. not much, some collectors don't even care, but you then need to pack them extremely well...as they are more liable to have an arm break off...bubble wrap usually does the trick though
  6. he doesn't go to the players lot at all anymore, because non of the brewers will sign for him, he sometimes goes to the games, but he always is at the hotel, unless he is out of town graphing somewhere else, he is getting autos everyday, he has to pay child support...
  7. If radio is included in this discussion, Ron Santo makes Mark Grace look like Bill Shakespeare. i love listening to santo, it is hilarious, i can't get enough of his scouting reports, or his oh geeze, and oh yeah, yes! i have trouble not laughing whenever he is on
  8. From what I have heard, Gamel at least has the tools to stick at third. Gamel has decent range at third, which Braun never had. Gamel, just needs to improve his footwork, and he can stick at third. that could be, and i'm probably wrong, but i think he lead the league in throwing errors, that is a lot more than a foot work problem if you ask me...
  9. yes, one of the teams in the west, like the dodgers, giants, padres, all have pitching but they need offense, it would be perfect for both sides...
  10. no, that is john, john is the man, he is NOT a seller
  11. i heard that wasn't g-rob, i heard it was another seller
  12. i need you with me sometime then matt, because i was standing right by the door, in front, and called conor jackson over to sign, and he did, and then all of a sudden, he came up right behind me, and put his photos right over my card, and i didn't get him...i don't even talk to him anymore, he isn't worth my time.... what hart of milwaukee is talking about, and i don't get this, is basically, he would have players sign photo paper, and then somehow photoshop the signature into photos? I don't really get it....but players wouldn't sign that anyway, most don't sign index cards anymore because people like him...whenever mark teahen was signing, he handed him like 20 photos to sign...and teahen did most of them...that is what pisses me off, he gets all these guys, justin upton even SS'd for him, but then SP'd inside the stadium... i seriously think all the players know who he is...
  13. bikeage, i couldn't agree more, i have probably seen you there, that is why it pissed me off when someone said that the adults sell everything at the lot, when they don't, i'm glad you know what you are talking about
  14. g-rob is a loser, he always cuts line, but it is impossible to stand up to him...but he doesn't go to the lot much anymroe, he is always at the hotel...he gets mad at me all the time, because i am taking away from his profit...last year, i was one of 5 people that got craig biggio and he was swearing at me and yelling at me for a long time because he needs that money, and i didn't deserve to get it because i hadn't been there all year, and hadn't been putting in the work...he was also pissed this year because i got dan haren and he didn't...when the royals were in town, it was the day the bucks 40th anniversery team was there and he followed oscar robertson over to his car, and robertson got in his face...Shouse will sign there, but only if G-rob isn't there... I don't go to the lot anymore, there is no point, how many Riske autographs do you really need? I would just rather go and get the other team....Bikeage, you are talking about Ron, he is really nice, and he is just a collector... gypcasino, that is his only job, he goes all over the country for autos, and pays other people, that Nick kid was helping him for a while...
  15. take BB out of Dane County, which hooks up To B in Jefferson, follow that into Lake Mills, turn left onto CTY. V, turn left onto Cty. A, take that into Watertown, turn right onto Hwy. 19 east, go through Watertown, merge onto 16 east, follow that to Pewaukee, get on 94 at milemarker 293
  16. the more i read your comment BREWCREW5, the more it makes me mad, almost all of the adult graphers at the lot, aren't sellers, if you would like to describe one to me, go ahead, but I can describe some kids that are...
  17. the problem is that the kids are the ones selling, not the adults, so your facts are wrong, i go to the players hotel to collect signed cards, what money can i make off a card? I got Brandon Webb on three cards this year, if I was looking for profit, I would have gotten him on balls and photos, but I couldn't care less. The kids at the lot, a lot of them work for Gunderson's, Hart won't sign for free because he has a contract with LOFT, and if you think taking autos away from kids is wrong, then why would you support a company that has a contract not letting the players sign, that is 100% hypocritical...
  18. i would never buy anything from them, what a joke, why would you pay $20 to ship a ball, it didn't used to be that hard to get stuff signed for free, but now hart won't sign, because he would rather get money for signing, I would never support a company like that, and it kills me when I see people that do...
  19. thanks everybody...we won't drive
  20. not a problem paul, i got a lot of info...
  21. tristar, we were thinking the subway because we are not real good in big cities, and somewhat worried about driving in NYC, do you think we should drive, or will the roads be just as packed as the subways... thanks, luckily, they are both day games...
  22. i live in lake mills, and work in watertown, so i take 94 everyday, and the water is on the road EB, but not WB, I too wouldn't be surprised if EB is closed in the near future, since the crest isn't supposed to be later in the week
  23. thanks for the help guys...
  24. it would be for three people, so probably around $200, but we would rather have one in a good part of town, and pay a grand, instead of paying little for something else
  25. Hey everybody, we are doing our annual ballpark trip, and we are going to both New York parks. We have a cottage that we can stay in for free in Hadley, NY. And on Tuesday night we will stay in the cottage, and drive to NYC to watch the Yankees play, we then want to get a hotel on Tuesday night, and then go to the Mets game on Wednesday... So my question is, all we need to find is one hotel in NYC...We would like to have it cheap, but obviously, not so cheap that we get mugged, and another thing, is that we want to take public transportation (subway) to get to the parks, so we don't have to drive... If anyone can help it would be greatly appreciated, we need a spot to park in NYC, a way to get to Yankee Stadium via Subway, a way to get back to the car, and a place to stay in an affordable hotel, and then a way to get to Shea... any help would be greatly appreciated... Thanks a lot...
