  1. Last year my wife treated me to a surprise game at Miller Park for my 30th birthday, including a tour of Miller Park before the game. We had some time to spend before the tour started, so we hit the Fan Zone. There was a huge line of people getting autographs, packed around the table so I could not see who was signing. I asked an employee, who said it was Bill Hall. I turned to my wife and exclaimed, "Ohhh. The object of my man-crush." I bought a ball and stood in line for the autograph while my wife continued to brouse the store. After we left she told me that the employee I had spoke to pointed me out to another employee while saying, "Dude. I think that guy is gay and is in love with Bill Hall." He's half right. (edited for grammer)
  2. BBS 1994. Don't remember my city. Memorable moment: Being assisinated via squirt-gun while on the bench by somebody who did not agree with my ruling on an earlier case... and was also really bored.
  3. I too am sick of Charter, and am looking into going to another provider. So I have a couple of questioins for anybody who is using a dish right now.... Are Direct TV or Dish Network now broadcasting FSN Wisconsin all the time? Do they still miss some Brewer games, showing Twins games instead? Is FSN on the normal channel packages? Or do you need to but the sports bundles? As for my Charter story, they used to call my house quite frequently to push me to go to them for phone and internet too. Finally about 6 months ago I said "You have no chance of ever getting my phone or internet service. You are barely hanging on to my cable TV service. The next time you call me, I'll cancel that." And they haven't called back since.
  4. I don't know if I can go so far as to call it my favorite, but I highly recommened The Alienist by Caleb Carr. Carr is a history professor at NYU, and is able to really infuse a lot of authenticy into this (fictional) story of the hunt for a serial killer in 1896 New York. One of the things I loved the most about it was that they find the killer in a very logical manner. Unlike many other murder mysteries I've read, there is little luck and a whole lot of reasoning and legwork involved in finding the killer.
  5. Wes's flirtation with perfection was on the day my son was born. He and I watched it in the hospital room while my wife slept. (well, my son was sleeping too)
  6. Wow. Of all the scenario's running through my head, a run off a wild pitch was not one of them. Sure is nice to see, though. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif Come on TBow/Coco. Let's win a series! I miss that feeling and want it back.
  7. According to gameday, 11 ground outs. 0 fly-outs through 5 innings. Please run up either the score or Hudson's pitch count. I don't want to see him in there much longer.
  8. Adam Dunn 3-3 so far today, and only a single away from the cycle in a wild one in Cincinnati Houston 5 - Cincy 7 in the bottom of the 5th.
  9. So the only current Brewers to have homered off Sosa are Koskie and Nix. Great. Here's to adding a bunch of new names to that list.
  10. Thanks Einhorn. I just can't get an AM radio signal in this building to hear Uek.
  11. I'm stuck with just MLB.com gameday and no radio. How close was Gross to making that back-to-back?
  12. Why is Hall listed as "Injured" on the CBS preview to this game? Do note that being listed doesn't mean a player is on the DL, but I didn't realize Hall's leg was hurt at all? Did I miss something?
  13. Outside of a Brewer win, this will be the best news I've heard all day.
  14. Much like Pujols just seemed to need face Ben Sheets to break his slump, I'm hoping all Bill Hall needs is a good dose of Reds pitching.
  15. Wow. Not only a Chad Moeller sighting in the Reds game... but a Chad Moeller GETTING A HIT sighting.
  16. The Nationals have fallen behind by at least 3-0 in every game they have played so far this season.
  17. John Maine with an almost Doug-Davis-like showing for the Mets so far. 4.2IP, 5H, 6BB, 104 pitches, 40 strikes... only 2 runs. Maine loaded the bases in 3rd, 4th and 5 innings... yet only gave up an RBI sac fly (3rd inning) and solo HR (5th inning before the bases got loaded).
  18. What do the Bucks have against Jeff Suppan, that they keep scheduling thier games to pre-empt his starts?
  19. 38 pitches to get out of the first for Sharpie.
  20. 2 batters into his 2007 Season, DD records his first walk.
  21. Does Charter Cable in Madison carry WMLW? If so, what channel? I thought it would be Uecker and my MLB.com's Gameday tonight, but I'd love to see the game (and still probably listen to Uecker)
  22. Does anybody know if this game is on TV in the Madison area? If it is on WMLW and not FSN, I'm doubting it, but am still holding out hope.
  23. I'm listening at work, so I'm only able to partially pay attention to the game, so please tell me that I heard this wrong, but... Did Anderson refer to (lead-off hitter) Soriano as hitting out of the "******"?
  24. What would it take to get just Hawpe, and not Jennings? Would ZackJack and Jenkins/Mench be enough? Any idea why the Rockies even looking to trade a solid young hitter like Hawpe?
  25. So what is stranger? Mench's HR binge after find his correct shoe size? Or Toma's 3 RBI's betting lefty? I'd lean towards Toma.
