Heading to Cincinnati for Opening Day

I'm going with 2 friends. We're heading down Friday and staying through Sunday's game. Two of us have been to Cincy previously (about 6 years ago or so) for one night. We didn't experience much nightlife around downtown or the stadium. 3 places we went to: Rock Bottom after the game, saw Turnbow and Maddux there; hotel bar (in the Hyatt I believe); and a dive bar in an alley that was perfect for our desires, as we enjoy dive bars. Looking at Google Maps, I'm pretty sure it is O'Malley's in the Alley, between 3rd and 4th, and Race and Vine. We're going to try to go there again after Saturday's game probably. Since we're staying at the Travelodge in Newport across the river (anyone else?), Friday night we're hanging out at the aforementioned Hofbrauhaus, amongst others we find in the vicinity. If anyone wants to meet up and talk Brewers, just give me a tweet @dikapalooza. -

Agreed, this umpire shtick was entertaining for a couple of innings, but let's get back to the game. It's even seemed to affect the crowd at the stadium.

Even with a 9-pitch AB to Prado there, Bush limits it to 14 in the first inning. I hope that's a good sign.

Last time I tuned in to the IGT for the whole game, the Crew dominated. Let's see if they can do it again, even without some firepower.

Just got home from the game and immediately came on here to vent. Trevor has looked downright terrible basically all year. Tonight would have been a perfect situation to take him out and bring in Stetter to face the lefties (or is Doumit a switch?) except for the fact that we sent Stetter down to replace him with JEFF SUPPAN! I haven't like Macha's decisions since day 1 and now for the first time I'm starting to doubt Melvin as well. edit: removed cuss circumvention--pitchleague

I just looked at Pittsburgh's ticket prices on their website, and seats behind the plate in the first deck were only $27 for tonight's game. A Pittsburgh road trip might be a good idea sometime in the near future. I'll be sitting there at least one game during the July series. Can't wait.

I do believe when the Brewers ran off the field after a walk-off, it was Bill Hall with a base hit much earlier in the year against St. Louis after they complained about untucking the jerseys
