  1. I guess "quality" is a subjective notion, but the guy does get paid to blog about sports for a living and is a contributor to Deadspin and Kissing Suzy Kolber. And it's fairly obvious that the comment about secret payments from the Brewers was made in jest.
  2. There is a "poop or get off the pot" joke to be made, but I am a man of high morals and will not stoop to that level.
  3. His heart rate is only elevated due to the fact that he drinks 25 cups of coffee per day.
  4. To answer your second question, a bus might run from downtown to Miller Park in February to transport the many people who work there, either as employees of the Brewers, or as independent contractors such as myself. This is perhaps the worst piece of logic I've ever read. How many people work at the stadium in the off-season? 50? 100? And how many of those actually a) live in the city of Milwaukee and b) would actually consider using public transportation. I doubt that there are too many "independent contractors" to worry about, either. Definitely worth it for the city of Milwaukee to spend its transportation budget on a new bus route that nobody would use.
  5. "I think you should express your anger by hitting them as hard as you can with a bat This was me. I don't have the time to dig up the thread, but it was one of my glorious posts. MAINSTREAM MEDIA ATTENTION IS MINE!!!!!
  6. The best part of bumping umps, is Folgers in your cup.
  7. OK, I suck at Photoshop, but I think we need to have some sort of contest here. I want to see what some of our graphic-design wizards can do with these pictures: Throw Yost's face on this and put a retro logo on the shirt = high comedy http://forum.wda-fr.org/images/uploads/Zurmff/Cornholio_165.jpg http://internetservices.readingeagle.com/blog/madrid/archives/Juan%20valdez%20cafe%20de%20colombia.jpg
  8. Here's the really scary thing - isn't coffee supposed to keep you "regular"? I can envision a scenario where Turnbow gives up 4 runs in an inning and Ned misses the Brewers half of the frame because he's in the clubhouse changing his pants.
  9. Props to my friend who writes a blog called "The Yost Infection" for writing about this tidbit...hidden inside Monday's camp report on JSOnline: Yost got wind of this and blew up about it today (AP story): This entire ordeal makes me willing to forgive Ned for all his past transgressions, purely because of the comedic value of the story. It may also help explain some of his bonehead decisions and love for the "gritty battlers". Somebody needs to create a funny t-shirt for Opening Day centered around the coffee theme.

  11. I don't deny James' skills, and I will be the first to admit that he has put together some impressive games (last season's victory over Duke at Cameron Indoor comes to mind). But I think his crunch time decision-making sucks. He doesn't have the discipline or control needed at the next level, which is surprising given that he has started ~90 games of Divison I basketball.
  12. Series, I believe he suffers from a rare condition that Bart Simpson once referred to as "Dorkus Mallorkus".
  13. http://deadspin.com/363690/red-sox-scout-endures-the-long-nights-on-the-road-in-the-wrong-way I am shocked and appalled...for shame, Jesse.
  14. I'm a little surprised that I'm the only person who thought GF II was better than the original. (This isn't meant to critique anyone else's choices - just interesting to me.) I guess I just love the back story with DeNiro playing the young Vito Corleone. The scene with the parade where he shoots Don Ciccio is one of my favorite overall movie scenes.
  15. 1. Goodfellas 2. The Godfather Part II 3. Scarface 4. The Godfather 5. Reservoir Dogs Honorable mention: A Bronx Tale, Snatch, Casino
  16. My impression has always been that he's more concerned with being a "baller" than being a basketball player.
  17. First off, just wanted to say what a great game this has been to watch. But I think Bo Ryan would murder one of his players if they fouled a jump-shooter with a 3-point lead and 2.5 seconds left in the game. James is an idiot.
  18. For those in the Chicago area, the Brewers will also appear twice on Comcast Sportsnet - March 10th vs. the Cubs and March 17th vs. the Sox (a perfect reason to have a St. Paddy's Day beer).
  19. Good point. That's exactly how I feel about the Sausage Race. It's so pointless. It's just makes me annoyed that an institution would waste resources on a frivilous idea when success has been so illusive. I'm struggling to see how the Sausage Race wastes resources. If Klement's provides the costumes, it costs roughly zero dollars.
  20. Question for thermalnoise: Is Russell aware of our irrational obsession with 3TO and does he feed off this positive energy?
  21. The Tourette's Guy, on the phone with Colgate complaining about how he bought their toothpaste, the one with the tartar control, and it made him feel like (blank). YouTube it.
  22. Prince - baseballs are made of animals too! I think you should express your anger by hitting them as hard as you can with a bat.
  23. We can only hope that a non-roster ST invite to Brooks Kieschnick is forthcoming.
  24. That ESPN thing was obviously supposed to be taken as a joke though....only problem was that it wasn't funny. To paraphrase that line from Seinfeld (when Jerry's dentist coverted to Judaism): "I'm not offended as a Brewers fan, I'm offended as a comedian!"
