  1. Because Hall is a top flight defensive 3B Committing 17 errors makes you a top flight defensive 3B. Wow!?!?!
  2. Ellsbury had a down year. (.729 OPS) You're kidding me, right. If you followed baseball at all, you would have realized that this past year was his first full year in the bigs.
  3. Rodgers is currently healing from a torn labrem and has been injury prone early in his career. Although, he is still only 21 years old, he has a great moving fastball around 96 MPH great curveball and circle change and is a great athlete. Does Rodgers still have a future in the brewers rotation or could he be trade bait?? I believe that he does and our rotation in the future will be Gallardo Inman Villanueva Rodgers Jeffress The only problem with this prediction is that Inman is no longer in the Brewers system. He was traded to San Diego in the Linebrink trade.
  4. I really don't think that the bullpen did a horrible job. I think the thing that did us in was our defense. Our catchers couldn't throw anyone out, and it just seemed like that the infield had at least 2 errors a game (I know that isn't really the number, but it seemed like it). I understand that the Brewers could hit, but defense wins ballgames.
  5. My bad, well maybe Sheets for Chamberlain or Hughes could work. Yeah, right. I am the furthest thing from being a front office official, but if they heard this, I'm sure that they would start laughing. Heck, I am laughing just reading it. I love Sheets, and a HUGE Brewers fan, but I know I wouldn't even do this if I were the Yankees.
  6. Why would we trade Hall? That would leave 2 open spots in the outfield next year - center and left. I'm pretty sure that Jenkins' option won't be picked up ($9 million). We just signed Hall to an extention before this year. I don't understand why we would trade him or Weeks when we are looking to win now. I thought that Hall is a part of the formula of the Brewers winning now. I know that he is not having a year close to last year (I kind of figured he wouldn't anyways), but I can't think of anyone we could replace him next year that we can afford.
  7. Finallly! I am a HUGE Crew fan from South Dakota, and this will be the first time that I see Braun play. The Brewers are never on tv here unless they are playing the Braves or the Cubs.
  8. Don't forget about the 30-some errors he will finish the year with.
  9. Yes, I agree that getting Bedard would be great, but I am just wondering why the O's would even think about trading him. I mean, he is only 28 years old, throws left-handed, and leading the majors in strikeouts. I know the O's are not and will not be in the hunt at the end, but why would they trade away a valuable part of their future? I don't understand why people think that just because a team is out of the race, they would be open to trading their best players. If that is the case, why don't we go after players like Ian Snell, Shawn Marcum, Aaron Harang, Tim Lincecum, Noah Lowry, Matt Cain, Roy Oswalt, Adam Wainright, and the list can go on and on. Just because a team is out, doesn't mean they automatically are willing to deal their best player(s). I do agree that it would take alot to get him. Like the other post said, I would have to think that a deal would have to start with one of our top prospects, like Braun or Gallardo.
  10. What do you think of this? I'm not so sure I would. http://msn.foxsports.com/mlb/story/6955650
  11. I told my friend (Twins fan) that the Twins were gonna sweep the Brewers this weekend. What a prediction! I was right. The way the Crew are looking right now, I'm not convinced that we will end May with a .500 record. I am surprised? Not really.
  12. Um.......why are we even talking about Todd Walker? If my memory serves me right, we still have Graffy and Counsell. We don't need to sign another middle infielder when we have these two. I agree that we don't want to see Miller at first base, but hasn't Graffy played a little first? He could be our backup for Fielder (when he does get a day off). I think that we are pretty set with our infielders with Fielder, Weeks, Hardy, Graffy, and Counsell. When and if Koskie comes back that would make 6 infielders with decent ability. I just don't see why we would add another into the mix. We would just end up having the same problem we do right now with the outfielders (too many players, not enough spots).
  13. ....and there alot of Brewers fans complaining that Carlos Lee didn't have any range out in left field. At least he has more than Steriod Man. I do NOT want to see Bonds in Milwaukee as our left fielder or as an opponent's left fielder. I understand that the publicity would be nice, but I don't want the stigma of having one of the biggest controversies (steriods) in Milwaukee.
  14. Maybe team Balko.....who knows? I wouldn't waste my money on a steriod taking fool that can't run. The ONLY way I would waste my money on him is for the publicity it might bring my team.
  15. Well, everyone else put theirs, so I'll put mine.... 2006 Milwaukee Brewer Pre-season predictions Team Record 2006 Record: 83-79 2006 Approx Record as of Sept 1: 72-67 2006 Predicted Finish within the NL Central: Third 2006 Playoff Predictions: Fourth in NL Wild Card Offense- Individual Team Leaders with 502 PA Batting Average: Clark .293 OBP: Jenkins .364 SLG: Lee .582 OPS: Lee .932 BB: Jenkins 87 2b: Koskie 40 3b: Weeks 4 HR: Lee 32 RBI: Lee 118 K: Weeks 147 SB: Weeks 26 Pitching- Individual Team Leaders Wins: Davis 16 Losses: Capuano 12 Saves: Turnbow 38 WHIP: Sheets 1.09 IP: Davis 217.1 K: Davis 203 BB: Davis 96 K/9: Capellan 9.62 BB/9: Sheets 1.06 OppOPS: Sheets .628 ERA (among starters): Sheets 2.97 ERA (among relievers): Turnbow 2.42 Appearances: Wise 68 Team Awards Offensive MVP: Lee Team Cy Young: Davis Most Valuable New Addition: Koskie Minor Leagues Awards Minor League Offensive MVP: Ryan Braun Minor League Cy Young: Yovanni Gallardo Misc First player not on opening day roster recalled from Minors: Dennis Sarfate First player on 25 man roster removed (via waivers, trade or optioned): Zach Sorensen First Player on the DL: Ben Sheets (shoulder soreness) League Awards AL MVP: Jim Thome, White Sox NL MVP: Albert Pujols, Cards AL Cy Young: Johan Santana, Twins NL Cy Young: John Smoltz, Braves AL ROY: Felix Rodriquez, Mariners NL ROY: Josh Willington, Marlins Post Season AL Champs: Chicago White Sox NL Champs: St. Louis Cardinals WS Champs: White Sox Comments: I don't think that our pitching staff is going to perform half as good as it was last year. Capuano is not going to get 18 wins and Sheets will battle through no run support. Our pen is the biggest question mark. There is no way Turnbow will repeat what he did last year, and who knows what we will get out of Capallan, De La Rosa, among others. Hall will not put up the same numbers, and Lee will be hampered with injuries all year.
