  1. I guess I agree with twobrewers in that Heath Ledger was good but not transcending. I think it may be a case where the character made the actor and not the other way around. Case in point, ( I will try to be as non-descript as possible to avoid spoilers) the scene where Joker is making a video. That scene shoots a tingle up the spine and makes you realize how crazy the Joker is. But I think that scence along with some other scences (like the "Not so Serious" scence, that was good writing not necessarily transcendant acting) could have been done just as well by other actors. Great superhero movie, and a good movie overall.
  2. While Katie Holmes was pretty bad in that movie, Jake Gyllenhaal's sister is so hard to look at. She is one of the ugliest women in Hollywood.
  3. "Two D.C. area men bet over which team would finish with more wins in 2007, the Phillies or the Brewers. The Phillies finished with more wins. As a result, Chris Jollay, a 36 year old Brewers fan, lost and lived as a homeless man for a week." Homeless
  4. I would easily take Brand because he is a much better player than Bogut. But will he still be a better player than Bogut in 5 years when you are paying them the same amount of money? Elton Brand is a good player but I think that in 2 years the difference between them will be marginal. You must be pretty down on Bogut, or real high on Brand.
  5. I should have posted in blue. I am just one of those people that no matter what a song is stuck in my head. I can barely finish a thought without thinking of a song lyric. Now I am on to "Once there was a way to get back homeward Once there was a way to get back home Sleep pretty darling do not cry And I will sing a lullabye"
  6. So after banishing my song from my head, I know have the Klements song, Share the Land and Born to Run stuck in my head. Thanks guys.
  7. I am going to piggyback this by saying it is amazing what you can get by giving up expiring contracts of bad players. Cap room is the currency of the NBA.
  8. "Any GM who would've given Bogut Brand type money in free agency is an idiot" Saying that a GM would be an idiot to sign Bogut is wrong. Bogut is 5 years younger than Brand and is a legit 7-footer (Brand is a 6-8 PF). If Bogut continues his 15/10/2.5 a game, most GM's would be very happy. So if he begins to improve on this, which we can hope a 25 year old will, Bogut could be a good, if not great, player. In terms of comparing the deals, would you be willing to pay Brand $20 million when he is 35, or Andrew Bogut $20 million when he is 30?
  9. I usually have a song stuck in my head every day, today is "Everybody Knows this is Nowhere" by Neil Young, "Everybody seems to wonder What it's like down here I gotta get away from this day-to-day running around, Everybody knows this is nowhere."
  10. 9 runs, 17 pitches Thanks for the opportunity.

  16. Quick athletic black players becomes busts. Quick athletic white players also become busts. So do big tall asian players, as well as long and athletic black players. I think focusing on race to determine the quality of the player is not a very smart.
  17. It looks like that is what is going to happen unless Love is off the board. I think it is Love or Randolph in order of preference. Randolph is a either a homer or a strike out swinging.
  18. Trade I think that perimeter oriented big men like Yi really have to be dead-eye shooters to be worth the lack of rebounding/defense. While Yi may someday go on to score 25 a night I do not think he is a vital piece of any teams puzzle. Hammond is going to build around defense and while Jefferson is no defensive whiz Yi and Simmons could not play a lick of D.
  19. While there is a chance Yi could be a superstar, I like this trade. I liken Bobby Simmons to Johnny Estrada, I liked the signing when we got him, but the second they started playing I disliked them. Looked like the effort was not there and never did the little things to win. In the end this is a decent trade for both teams. The Nets are looking to rebuild and Jefferson did not fit into the plans and the Nets are looking to get Lebron in 2 years. Yi is a big $ draw and has potential to be a great player (I do not see that happening) and Simmons is a classic salary dump player. I do not think Yi would have fit in the Hammond/Skiles regime. This almost guarentees that the Bucks will draft a PF tonight.
  20. I have tickets to Rush on Friday night and will be driving from Madison to Milwaukee at about 5:00. The concert starts at 7:30 and I am afraid that I will end up missing some of it due to traffic issues. I know this is a bad time to be traveling due to rush hour and the delay but I am looking for any suggestions for the fastest way to get there.
  21. I would love if we got Vanilla Sky (Alexander)
  22. I agree with you Ashford. This is not the Brewers business at all and unless Prince approaches the Brewers they should stay out of this. They should not dangle a contract out there based on the fact that Prince is being sued. That would be insulting. If I am being sued for any reason, unless it is my employer bringing the lawsuit, it is none of their business. It is the same for Prince.
  23. I think one of the major reasons Kendall has been throwing more guys out is our pitchers. I think Maddux does a great job of teaching pitchers good slide-steps and how to effectively hold runners.
  24. If you want to get her some Jazz I have been listening to a lot of Joshua Redman lately. I really like it. Joshua Redman I will always recommend some Kool Keith especially for this lyric, "Astronauts get played, tough like the ukelele"
