    I don't understand this incessant pessimism I don't understand unbridled optimism. Some people are half-empty, some are half-full. JB12 is one of the most solid posters on this site. I think his observation with "pattern of bad luck" was interesting and note-worthy.

    I think the interesting thing about this is that JB used the word "first" -- As if we are to expect more oxymorons from Yost, I mean it could feasibly happen (like Chad Moeller hitting for the cycle) -- that Yost makes more head-scratching statements that defy logic and sensibility and even coherency -- but is it actually plausible?

    I am thinking about taking the boy out to OR in the summer -- has anyone rode this route? -- I'd be interested to hear anyone's experiences -- even on other cross-country routes. (I do understand that I have other options including planes and/or driving)

    The only thing I can think of is to tell the guards they are not allowed to shoot until the ball goes inside once. Tried that -- then they don't shoot ever. Are you playing the best guards you have? I had to recruit a 2nd grader to find the best point. I'm impressed that you are coaching an offense to a bunch of third graders. Actually -- a lot of these teams have pretty good schemes, and execute them well. You need a point. Try dribbling goggles - they have them at Dicks for like $6. Great idea But I agree with Uecker9, its going to be tough to do much of anything without a solid point. Indeed. In the meantime, maybe a high post game, maybe an extremely high post game. Just get one of those guards to get the ball over halfcourt, then have the forward cut up from the block all the way to the top of the key, and have the forward get him the ball right away. I actually had the good forward at the elbow today, setting screens, and then rolling to the basket. One time our straight line guard got an uncontested layup off of the screen, I almost wept. Badshot guard probably could have hit the forward rolling more, but chose not to, I can address that with line-sprints. Corner magnet guard still just turned the ball over. Thanks for the ideas guys, I bought a program so I draw up animated plays.

    Hey all -- Looking for some help from some good BKB minds... I am coaching a 3rd grade BKB team, and I am getting frustrated with our offense, we play with 3G and 2F. Our best player is a F who is a great rebounder, has great hands, and can turn and shoot -- and is probably the most coach-able, i.e he understands the flow of the offense the best. We have another F who is a capable rebounder, can follow an offense scheme pretty well, is a good enough shooter. Our guards are TO machines. I have one guard that is able to drive the ball a little -- however he takes bad shots and never looks inside -- the other guard is really fast but can't change directions or speeds he pretty much goes in a straight line and crashes into a wall -- the other guard pretty much dribbles into a corner and gets trapped. In short -- I need some help with an offensive that is centered around weak guard play and strong forward play. -- Obviously the long term fix is work on ball-handling and passing with the guards but I could use some help for a tournament this weekend. I tried to have one of my forwards set some high screens, but then we turned the ball over closer to half-court. Any help appreciated.

    Or do you have to actually have to do something in that state to classify you as having been there? I think we all have our own definitions. I dont count airports, I generally need to drive across the state for me to feel like I have been in a state.

    Are you saying that you'd prefer the Brewers had brought back Estrada instead of signing Kendall? Keep in mind that we would have had to offer Estrada Arby's -- so we would have likely paid Estrada what Kendall is getting (or close). I'd probably rather have Estrada for one year for what WAS is paying him than what we have into Kendall -- but it wasn't an option. And getting Mota and his full contract in exchange? Also bad. Agreed

    I wouldn't call me thin, but definitely not fat. I am trying green tea. I did this -- and it has worked very well for me -- plus now when I drink soda, it is way less "refreshing" than the tea is -- Lipton has a white tea product that is great as well.

    I perhaps didn't make it clear, but I do find the running scenes of CHARIOTS OF FIRE stirring. I agree with Robert 100% -- I would never say COF was a bad movie, but it seemed like a movie people supported so they could feel highbrow. It is very "bleh" to me.

    I want the rotation to be: Cappy Bush Sheets Suppan Yo Villy & Vargas in the BP and Parra starting the year in AAA I suspect something close to this will happen.

    ?Good job Mike -- If anyone has wondered where former Brewer Brad Lesley ended up, after leaving the Brewers, he went to Japan and pitched and became a fan-favorite. Then he began his career in Japanese television -- as can be seen in this MXC clip (assist to madbad) -- Lesley is the guy in the spider suit.

    He got the nickname "Animal" but told several versions as to how he got this name. He once claimed that he pushed a car off a cliff in Alaska because it was blocking his way and the owner refused to move it. He later claimed that 1B Johnny Bench had fielded a grounder and when he went to cover first, he yelled for the ball, using a swear word. Bench supposedly told reporters "The kid looked like a crazed animal coming at me!"

    Another excellent choice. Showdown in Little Tokyo was in my Honorable Mentions. Once you bring Gymkata though, you probably are never going to watch the other 9.

    Yea, i was wondering today where i go to vote in elkhorn. I hate no clue, but i want to take part in the primary. If you mean Elkhorn WI, we primary on the 19th -- If you mean Elkhorn MN, they caucus today.
