  1. 1) I'm married -- I wouldn't do the laundry on a dare 2, 3) I only have a cell phone 4) I never count it. 5) I use my blinker all the time 6) If I am just calling to chit-chat, or don't have a specific message I assume the caller ID is good enough 7) I rarely buy food during a game -- I came there to watch a game, not eat -- I try to be sensitive that my rowmates do not want my large ass squeezing past them, probably ever. 8) Sure 9) I never write things down 10) I rarely use ATMs although sometimes ATMs are out of money, so I can understand the hesitation.
  2. I would be in the bathroom every 5 minutes taking a leak. Ned Yost's bladder is built for volume and not for speed.
  3. "I was getting a cup of coffee (in the dugout)," First of all -- They have coffee in the dugout? and if so can't some batboy or Gape Kapler get him a cup so he can focus on the game? And why is that anybody's business, how many cups of coffee I drink? That's the stuff that (ticks) me off." Ah, -- Ned -- you missed the play, because of your coffee addiction. You brought this on yourself. Furthermore why should it tick you off? I'm on the case.... Even at 8 a.m., after his eighth cup of coffee, it's difficult to get Brewers manager Ned Yost to talk about anything other than his favorite topic: Today. That was from a 2007 piece by McCalvy I think it's safe to say that if you have downed 8 cups by 8AM -- you are probably closer to 20 than you are 7 or 8. The Brewers lost, 10-4, in three hours and 19 minutes. Yost ran out of coffee in the dugout. This was from a MLB recap 3/3
  4. Ooh I know this one -- The guy who directed "Freaks" -- I saw this on the Turner Movie channel. Tod Browning -- He also directed Dracula.
  5. One thing my old man said to me that has always stuck with me, with regard to managing people. "You spend 90% of your time with 10% of the people, the sooner you realize just to fire that 10% the easier your job will be"
  6. Nothing gets on my radar faster than employees chirping at me about what other employees make. I don't mind people valuing their ability against the workforce in general -- but when someone starts comparing what everyone makes, bad things happen.
  7. Is Baseball Manager the one that used to have newspaper articles for your team? Yes. -- It definitely broke the mode
  8. Huh, I didn't know GSP had a blog..... (JUST KIDDING! It's probably JB12's) You just can't take a guy seriously that says "I hate the Brewers" then writes a bunch of crap, and never mentions Ned Yost. This clown has 0 credibility.
  9. If he has a great season -- we go to the playoffs. At the end of the day, what happens to Sheets after we make the playoffs (on his back) is of secondary consequence.
  10. I used to play "Baseball Manager" back in the old Prodigy days. I liked it because it simulated games based on actual stats in an actual matchup, and didn't use things like wins or RBIs, or accumulate stats over a week -- you had to manage relievers and lefty/righty matchuos. Did/does anyone play it?
  11. I read this somewhere.. FACT: NASCAR uses 200,000 gallons of gas in a year -- just at the races. FACT: Ned Yost is a bad MLB manager and should resign his post immediately. FACT: Ned Yost likes NASCAR. FACT: Ned Yost could use his inside contacts to work on a NASCAR pitcrew. FACT: Said pitcrew/team would get Yosted when Ned leaves the tires on too long, or puts petro in the tailpipe. FACT: Crashes and NASCAR deaths would skyrocket past the current, 2.5 deaths per NASCAR event. FACT: Congress would shut down NASCAR. FACT: NASCAR would no longer need gas, thus increasing the overall supply. FACT: As supply increases demand will decrease along with the price per gallon. CONCLUSION: Not only is Yost screwing up the Brewers, but he is inflating gas prices as well.
  12. In all fairness -- the union is made up and supported by the older players -- so it is probably fair that it benefits them first.
  13. would you be better off sending something down to spring training rather than sending it to milwaukee during this month? If you get it out in today or tomorrow's mail send it to Maryvale -- if not send it to Milw.
  14. You don't trade him. You won't get equal value and you're removing a top 5 hitter from your team. You trade the good but not great players early (Hardy, Capuano) and you keep the MVP type as long as you can Yeah -- I would agree with this as long as the Brewers are in the playoff hunt. Although I could envision a trade scenario if LaPorta was mashing hardcore and a pitcher like Gallardo flamed out or got injured and the Brewers were desperate for SP help.
  15. Just to stir the pot a little -- Seattle is reportedly offering an extension to Felix Hernandez, who is in the same boat (service time) as Fielder --i.e., they both are eligible for Arby's next year. I wonder if this will be a trend. I think Seattle has a lot more risk involved than the Brewers do, if the Brewers offered Prince an extension.
  16. I guess I do not understand what you mean by tangible value Trade value. That would seem to indicate to me that he is tired or something else is going on. I think it is as simple is that he can't locate his pitches. If he can't locate his breaking pitches, he gets crushed, as his fastball is rather mediocre.
  17. FTJ, ever see the movie "Fever Pitch?" I rest my case. This is the first and last time in the history of the world where someone "rests their case" on a Jimmy Fallon movie... The Cards will always be Cubs rival #1
  18. It isn't plagiarisms if it is done better
  19. Does someone have to untwist it?
  20. OK... how do we get a rivalry going? Win more ballgames -- probably 90 games in a season. If Brewers' fans are reduced to making cracks to kids, I really hope this rivalry doesn't develop any further. Yeah I agree. Cracking on kids seems like an awful thing to do. You can choose to sit on the sidelines and criticize those who show passion for their team, that's your choice. Supporting your team on the road is a great thing -- I think sometimes "showing passion" becomes an excuse for jackassery.
  21. I don't like slotting the best reliever on the team into the closer's role. I agree 100% -- For the sake of this argument -- let's use the term "bullpen stud", and assume that each team needs to have a good one to be competitive. The casual fans really treat him unfairly and have probably cost us any possibility of a home town discount. This is to bad since he is really a quality pitcher. I am not sure what you mean by quality pitcher. If you mean "bullpen stud" -- I would disagree. If you mean "middle reliever" -- I would be ok with that. As far as a home town discount goes, I believe that Turnbow has damaged his value himself -- Frankly, I think if he had any tangible value, he'd have been traded by now. If not, Turnbow would be my choice. He has had his stuggles but gets a bad rap, he actually had a very nice season last year. I think 2007 was pretty bad for Turnbow (again with regard to Turnbow being a high quality BP pitcher). I hope we can agree that 2005 was awesome, 2006 sucked... Let's look at 2007 BB/9 2005 -- .36 2006 -- .69 2007 -- .68 K/9 2005 -- .95 2006 -- 1.2 2007 -- 1.2 K/BB 2005 -- 2.7 2006 -- 1.8 2007 -- 1.8 BF/IP 2005 -- 4.0 2006 -- 4.7 2007 -- 4.3 BAbip 2005 -- .249 2006 -- .333 2007 -- .258. It seems to me that 2007 was more like 2006 than 2005. I think the difference in 2007, was that Turnbow spent the entire 2007 being backed up by CoCo and others. Here is a Turnbow gamelog that I put together... Here is a recap of Yost calling for the fans to give Turnbow a break...
  22. Ipods -- in relation to other MP3 products.
  23. Creative Labs MP3 players
  24. Pay at the pump -- that's how I roll!
  25. But I bet my current series, entitled "Genetic Polution" is more up your alley. Conceptually you are right -- I think EDR would execute better though. He'd have a way of making me think "Am I contributing to genetic pollution?" This picture just makes me think Minnesota sucks. EDR would probably spell pollution right as well (as would many others). -- or were you trying to be ironic in your series title? indicating that perhaps we have crossed the threshold of no return and spelling has already become a casualty of the contamination of our genepool (jeanpool)? Tom Wilson >>>>> Neil Gaiman.
