  1. Rickie and aoki need a day, gonzales... I don't know....a month?
  2. the only good news is the son of Chris Carpenter would fully understand the situation given the speech his father made him about uncle Tony.
  3. Man, i am not ready for the season, i am to sleepy, i go to bed, maybe i need an extended spring training with all those day games.
  4. Happy opening day from italy, here the game will be in prime time, local 8 pm. Can't wait.
  5. This thread comes up every spring since gomez joined the brewers, then carlos has a HR in one of the first games, he enjoys the emotions of trotting the bases, and everything crumbles to dust.
  6. The Tigers announced that they have agreed to terms with Justin Verlander on a five-year contract extension through the 2019 season with a vesting option for the 2020 season. Verlander will earn $180MM over the next seven seasons and the option is worth $22MM, meaning that he can earn a total of $202MM under terms of his new deal, sources tell Buster Olney of ESPN.com (on Twitter). zzz zzz
  7. the problem with klinsmann is that he doesn't love soccer. he said it 1.000 times. i also remember him saying he always went in the U.S. to spend his holydays because that was a place in which no one knew him and he was able just being himself... as much as i like klinsmann a lot (as a player and even more as a human being) i don't think he's a great manager at all. if you don't like to live under pressure you can't be a coach or a manager, period. he's not that he can't deal with pressure, he just doesn't like it.
  8. erick almonte
  9. I think real vs bayern will be the final, maybe i just hope so. Malaga and Dortmund are the only stadiums i ve not been to. Westfallen stadium will be a yellow hell, one of the most impressive humanbrick wall in the history of the game.
  10. barcelona 4 milan 0 ahaahaahahajhahahahahahajahaja take another breath ahahahahaahahahahahahahahaahhah. life is better
  11. nope. today's game was the first game broadcasted and it was announced two hours before the game. no one talks about it and it's a pity. it s true there are not many italians , but so it is for the rugby italian side with tons of stranger who are treated like heros with plenty of press and tv coverege despite being a loosing team since i ever watched sports (and i started early). edit for spelling
  12. american guys with the "Italia" jersey are up 4-0 in the first inning vs Dominican Republic. Mr. Colabello (beautiful drip in italian) homered.
  13. Saw Inter and it was terrible. The difference in pace was huge. Now that is the difference between the third in the premier league and the third (or so) in the serie A. That is the side which won the champions league in 2010: Julio Cesar ( now with QPR) Maicon (Man City) Lucio (returned to brasil after Juventus) Samuel (now injured) Chivu Cambiasso Zanetti Pandev (napoli) Snejder (galatassaray) Eto'o (anzhi) Milito (injured) There's no rebuilding mode for top teams in soccer, so i must admit Inter is no longer a top team.
  14. Italy defetead the mexican side thanks to a blown save by Romo (induced by a terrible play by edgar gonzales in leftfield). Gallardo did not play
  15. Don't want to open a new thread for today game but escobar is leaving the game hurt. Seems like something bad.
  16. yes i started to eat healthier and work out with gabe kapler all winter. did i mention i had lasik eye surgery?
  17. i listened to this game and fell asleep in the ninth. i still need to get in shape for the season, but i tell you this: this is yet the best shape i've ever been in spring training, in fact yesterday i listened the vs Royals game til the end.
  18. Siena is the third world of soccer, the stadio (just outside the walls of the mediaeval town) is one of the worst in italy (and we have ugly and old stadiums all over the land). Siena has got no fans, the owner is the former owner of A.S. Roma, this year tey will be relegated and i hope to see them no more, although that stadium is the one in which my team F.C. Inter won two championship. that said, Siena and his Palio are fantastic (they have the best Basketball team in Italy too). you should have phone me, my relatives have a "agriturismo" nearby!
  19. this is a tv show o a local tv (popular in the north of italy) every team has its own "journaist", the AC Milan one, is Tiziano Crudeli, a clown. at the begininning tiziano is presented with a owl (sign of bad lack) "BOA BOA BOA" is for Boateng, the other guy insult Tiziano Crudeli for the hand foul which bore the first goal. this is very common in italian tv. sadly (but rather funny) at the end he kisses the FC Internazionale "journalist" saying: "you suddenly became tall, blonde and pretty" ...and then i hear some brewerfans complaining about the grace-sutton combo... MILWAUKEE ARE YOU WATCHING????? edit: I suggest to try this site: http://www.zonalmarking.net/ if you want to understand the semplicity (and the complexity of football, ooops, soccer)
  20. casual fans and kids route for italian teams. hardcore fans and wise men hope for a defeat. will you cheer for the cubs winning vs the chibalotte mariners or the seoul tigers?
  21. the move you described is called "sombrero" like the typical mexican hat. don't ask me why.
