  1. Maybe this is the wrong thread for this, but does this prod them to go out and get Bonds?
  2. The Rays would make sense. ESPN's depth chart currently has Cliff Floyd as their DH.
  3. Because I'm bored, the only games not televised this year are 4/24 vs. PHI 5/29 vs. ATL 7/10 vs. COL 7/19 @ SF 8/11 vs. WSH 8/20 vs. HOU 9/3 vs. NYM 9/10 vs. CIN
  4. The opener at Wrigley is going to be on ESPN2 as well as FSN.
  5. With Sheets, Gagne, and Turnbow all potential FA next season, and all ranking as B level players last season, the club has a very good chance at getting 3 extra picks for the next draft. A healthy year by Sheets, and a solid year from Gagne could make them type A guys, so you could be looking at 5 extra picks in '09 so I don't think they will draft anyone they don't expect to sign, just to get an extra pick next year. Edit to add: Obviously losing Sheets will hurt, but the thought of having 7 of the first 90 picks this year and maybe 8 out of the first 100 in '09 means our system could be very deep when our young studs start to leave, and this club could remain very competitive heading into the middle to late portions of the next decade.
  6. NYM-NYY is already scheduled for 8 Eastern on that day.
  7. ESPN has already announced the Sunday night games through May, not sure about the mid-week games. If the Brewers start out well, my guess is they find their way onto ESPN for at least 4 or 5 weekday games, but they will have a hard time breaking into the Sunday night games this season, IMO.
  8. Just an FYI to those considering heading up to Yankee Stadium, the Sunday game will be ESPN's Game of the Week, so plan accordingly.
  9. The guy at MLBTR estimated that Feliz is about 3 wins above replacement because his D is so solid.

  11. Why would he be 25 or 26 when he arrives? He has been mashing the ball in WV, and he is 22. Unless he doesn't look the part at all in Arizona this fall, he will open next season in AA at 23. If he has a good first half, he probably gets bumped up to AAA halfway through the season, and then he's only an injury away from the big leagues. If he doesn't get the call next season and has a good year, he is probably opening the '09 season as a 24 year old rookie LF.
  12. I like Gabe, but I hope they trade a SP in the offseason for a LF who can bridge that gap.
  13. Maybe he pulled Suppan too early, but Shouse got out of the inning. He wanted Villy to go 2 innings, but had to use Linebrink to get out of the inning, then he wanted Wise to go the 9th and he couldn't. His plan was to use 4 guys, one of which was his situational guy, and the circumstances didn't allow him to stick with his plan.
  14. Jeffress looks good. Braddock was looking really good early in the year before his injury, and I think we'll see good things from him. It will also be interesting to watch Rogers when he gets back.
  15. Is it Parra going down? I hope not but it is the only thing I can think of.
  16. If they want help at 1st, would throwing Dillon in the deal help?
  17. I don't see a definite upgrade out there for a bat. If we could get Toby's trade, I would do it because Gagne is another late-inning guy, and hopefully CoCo and TBow don't have to go out there every time we have a lead.
  18. He'll miss the Cubs too, but the Brewers need to win games right now since they are going to be in the wild card race as well, and missing Beltran, Victorino, and Utley is a big help, even if the Cubs miss them too.
  19. Living in Chicago, I'd rather listen to Len Kasper and Bob Brenly than Sutcliffe.
  20. Rohlinger is playing 3B for the low A club in the Giants organization. Ryan's Profile

  22. I don't think Joe Morgan does games during the week. ESPN has the Cubs-Phillies on Monday, would they just have O'Brien and Sutcliffe hang around the area for a few days?
  23. So the team is an inning away from splitting the series, and his all-star closer gives up the lead and loses it in extras. Not to mention, his hottest hitter hit into two DPs late in the game with RISP and it's Ned's fault?
  24. If the Brewers played the Cubs in the NLCS they would not be the media darlings. All we would hear about was Bartman, the curse, and the billy goat.
