  1. I'm interested too. Thanks
  2. If he's on his way to the DL is Gwynn the everyday CF?
  3. Youman has a 4.70 ERA and opponents have hit him at a .290 clip this season. I think the Brewers have a good chance to rough him up today.
  4. I know FOX waits until at least the middle of September to fill their last two weekends. The only way the Saturday game vs. the Padres isn't picked up is if both teams have run away with their divisions by then.
  5. The timing was a lot better the last few years when they had it during BBTN before the Sunday night game when almost all the day games were finished.
  6. Sheets is on the hill tomorrow, they've still got a good chance to win, no matter how today ends up.
  7. I'd be fine with giving Yo the hook right now.
  8. Is Petrick a guy capable of eating 3-4 innings or is he a middle-type guy?
  9. Yeah, I'll be happy with a solid 6 from Yo. With 6 innings against the Cubs pen ahead of us, I think he'll have even more cushion to play with.
  10. Estrada's long AB there all but insures this is the last inning for Hill.
  11. Hill probably won't even get an AB today. It's good enough that we're looking at a minumum of 5 innings against that bullpen today, but we get to tire them out and face them the rest of the weekend too.
  12. I don't see any reason the Astros would want Graffy. They would want someone young and promising, not a decent veteran backup.
  13. I agree the price of rentals has gone down. Look at what Melvin was able to get for Lee last season. A set up man who struggled as a closer early in the season, a platoon LF, a former high prospect who never seemed to put it together (but Cruz pretty much washed this out), and a throw in A-baller (J Cordero). I really think Vargas (a #4 or 5 with a few years left on his contract), Gwynn (a guy who isn't great, but if guys like Pierre and Dave Roberts can break the bank, why can't he?), and Jackson might be the best offer they get.
  14. The problem is a lot of the prospects are in that area where they don't have enough experience to get enough back, and this time next year they could get back a ton more. I could part with Gwynn, Jackson (not sure if he is still a prospect), and Rottino. I don't know if I would trade Parra simply because I think he has more value right now as a reliever than anything he brings back. I honestly don't see many moves being made this year and I think next year will be the year they are aggressive since it could be the last year of Sheets.
  15. Yeah he's gotta be hurt. Hopefully its just a few days and not a DL thing.
  16. Yeah they said Lee has just been ejected.
  17. I thought with Ford going to BC that Gillespie would be on his way to Huntsville. Very surprised to see Brantley get the call to Huntsville with Gillespie staying put and Fermaint going down. I guess Cole will be in BC for the rest of the season barring injuries.
  18. Not for long if his WHIP stays where it is.
  19. Weeks Hardy Fielder Hall Estrada Mench Hart Graffy Cappy Reyes Easley Beltran Wright Delgado Castro Chavez Gomez Perez
  20. When Braun comes up, I think he will hit 7, and they will slide Hart down to 8. Either way, it will be nice to have a bat like Ryan's hiding in the bottom of the order and it will make the pitcher's spot the only hole in the lineup.
  21. They are going to take about 20 minutes between games.
  22. Actually, 10,000 have already been sold for tonight's game. Maybe they get a light walk up and push into the 12-15 range. Also, 8,000 sold for tomorrow, and 4,500 for Thursday. www.jsonline.com/blog/?id=92
  23. Cordero probably can speak Spanish.
  24. Thanks guys, this is the first year I've started to follow the minors below AA.
  25. Any reason as to why Inman came out of the pen? Very impressive performance BTW.
