  1. I have no rational explanation why but Escobar's antics on the bases are really wearing thin with me. I just want him to hit and make good decisions(on the bases and with the baseball), he doesnt have to prove to anyone that he can run... the Brewers aren't stealing bases and I'm not sure that Macha will change his philosophy as long he has so many capable HR hitters in the lineup.
  2. Maybe this will open up some eyes and people will see that Brewer fans are no better than Cub fans, and can be worse in some cases.
  3. I was just wondering... Say we acquire a top of the rotation starter, who would be the odd man out? I can't see them moving Yo, Parra, or Bush out of the rotation but Looper and/or Suppan would be awfully expensive bull pen pitchers.
  4. If Dennis continues to hit like he has, he'll sky rocket up into the 20s someplace by the end of the season.
  5. I didn't expect him to be sneaking this up at 3AM his time... What a committed dude! Excellent job as always gentlemen.
  6. MLB Network seems like a pipe dream to us dish network types, if I hadn't signed another 2 year commitment I would have definitely jumped ship for Direct TV due to this MLB fiasco for dish.
  7. I'm actually intrigued by Chris Smith, he's been lights out in Nashville. Cat had 2 hits tonight for Huntsville including a 2B and an RBI. I saw or read someplace that Riske thinks he's ready to start throwing off the mound and then go out for a rehab assignment.. am I the only one that is fine with the current bullpen minus Julio and doesn't really want Riske back?

  9. Well if we're using Hart's current season... what about Gillespie's at AAA? Sure if we took Gillespie's best season and Hart's worst they might compare, but based on pure talent there is no comparison. Now Hart may never play to an OPS above .850 again and may continue to slide into oblivion, thus making Gillespie a better option. However, that's not the case at this moment. Right now Gillespie isn't even a viable bench player the way he's hitting, which is very disappointing to me personally. I was hoping both Gillespie and Cain would be available for long term replacement duty if one of the big 3 in the OF went down.
  10. I'm way too nervous for a game in freaking May... 1 run leads in Houston.
  11. I have nothing to add other than what an excellent word...
  12. Well Hall certainly has enough natural ability to be able to hit anyone, so in the end the fault rests with the player. That being said I do get the point that his career statistics clearly demonstrate how he's become a platoon player, so hopefully Macha wises up to that point and gets another impact bat in the lineup to replace Weeks.
  13. Trejo and BK come up huge, WI with a 3 run 9th to take the lead. 6-5 going to the bottom. Huntsville erupts... Cody does his thing, Cat with 2 hits including a 2B, Lucroy and Green both with a hit a piece. edit. ohh no... Almonte gives up a BB then a HR and WI loses...
  14. Apparently you missed the part where SD was getting a MLB ready pitcher who's a lefty and has decent stuff plus a top prospect who's also a lefty, projectable and pitching very well in AA. What pitcher do the Brewers have to offer that is in AA, projectable, and pitching very well? Outside of Jeffress our best pitching prospects are 3 years away from being ready, and Jeffress wasn't throwing strikes in AA. Do you really think the Brewers will jettison Parra in a Peavy deal? Is the difference between those 2 in performance worth the 15 million per year? How do the Brewers afford Peavy's contract and sign the core players to extensions?
  15. No idea, I just noticed Trejo had 2 ABs and was questioning what was going on and then it hit me... edit. Reviewing the game log he hadn't been involved in a defensive play since the first and it was a SB? He flew out in the first to CF as well. edit2. All the boxscores, research, and discussion about Dennis on this forum and for some reason I just figured out he bats LH, I thought he was RH...
  16. Dagnit Bowman... and Dennis has been very impressive in his short stint. I know this is nitpicky, but Green should be up at the top of the order where he belongs from the get go, not batting 7th.
  17. I'm surprised Trejo is back quite honestly, they must really like his bat... from the first hand observations I've read it sounds like he's a free swinger who's pretty pull happy.
  18. Poreda... no one at this time. We have no projectable pitcher pitching well in AA or higher. He walks a few too many for my tastes but he's getting good results and is LH. Richard... he's not a prospect, he's got MLB experience. Parra blows his stuff away, he's a step down from Parra stuff wise, we really don't have a comparable pitcher to him either. The point this trade highlights at least in my opinion, is that most anyone who's looking to trade a top end arm near FA is looking for pitching coming back, and the truth is the Brewers don't have pitching to spare. We need the right deal at the time to acquire pitching for hitting only. Yo and Parra aren't going anywhere, and we don't have any projectable pitching prospects above A ball at this point in time.
  19. Anundsen's lack of a velocity is a real downer. edit. And post this in the next 15 minutes before I leave for a high school baseball game please thanks.
  20. Butler? I'm not so sure, Cody definitely will move up significantly.
  21. This pleases me on a variety of different levels... most of which the Peavy thread in the transaction forum can die if this true.
  22. X I know you've always been on the bandwagon of the toolsy guys cause that's what your into, but we'll never see the 2006 Hall again, let alone the 2005 version. He's not a bad guy, he's just not a smart or instinctive baseball player. He has all the tools but the results speak for themselves. I would have batted him 5th if I was going to move him up in the order, I would have batted Hardy 2nd personally, and 1 of Cam or Hart in at the top, even though they've both been struggling. The way the Brewers have hit LHP pitching, it's very unlikely that Hall will see 4 ABs in a game against LHP, so at some point the other team is going trot out a RHP at which point Hall becomes a liability.
