  1. Where do we submit the request that tomorrow everybody in the lineup is hitting at least .250 except for the pitcher..
  2. Just think if JJ only doubles his current stats.. .316 30 HR 86 RBI's. Now if someone had told you that think of how ecstatic you would be and that looks like the floor for him currently if he (and Fielder) stays healthy..
  3. Hardy - 43 RBI's with a week left in May.. I would guess Hardy is on the most first place fantasy league teams of any MLB player.
  4. My question is would either justify a major league quality bullpen arm? If not then what would the point be of trading them. Might as well move them to the pen... No room on the rosters for position players and now is not the time to trade major leaguers for minor leaguers... With that said I would give up Spurling and Dessens for used baseballs.
  5. Side benefit to Braun being up... Brocail has to be like "whew.. made it through weeks, braun, hardy, and fielder" and he looks up and sees he still needs to face Jenkins and Hall...
  6. this is setting up as a defining game of the season.. fight back from 7-0 and Braun homers to win it in the 9th... Yes.. I drank lots of the Kool-aid tonight but legends have to start somewhere don't they?
  7. This comes up a lot in this forum.. especially talking OF's.. I just don't think there is a market for any of the players we would like to see traded... What would we get for Mench, Vargas, Bush. etc... I just don't see who would give much up for them. Especially since we traded for each and they were all throw-ins basically each time and probably have less value now.
  8. I can't agree with this more... I understand the arguments.. but this is not a situation like 2 years ago when the Brewers played above their head to finish .500.. This team has the talent, experience, and depth to win now, especially in this division. I don't think they trade away a stud prospect for help but I definitely think they need to exhaust all options in the minors to take advantage.. If that means Gallardo and Villy are starting and Capellan and Thatcher end up in the bullpen, so be it... 25 years is long enough to continue to worry about arbitration in 5 or 6 years.
  9. It is so nice watching Gameday and when the Brewers turn a double play now you are pretty much guaranteed to smile at all names involved. long time coming..
  10. Second best thing about that inning (after scoring 3 runs) is that they went through 8 batters so they get to do it again after Gwynn walks.. Double switch here right? Gross out?
  11. What is with these west coast relief pitchers... Where is the Cubs bullpen when you need it.
  12. Last time I looked a game never ended on a HR by the losing team so I don't see how any of them are meaningless.
  13. Thatcher tonight in Nashville.. 1.1 IP 4K's.. hard time believing by August he won't be a better option than Shouse.
  14. Bush owns Maddux tonight I have defending him but if they are going to hold Graffy and Counsell accountable then they need to do the same with Bush.. if not Gallardo then give Villy a couple of starts... Bush is at least an upgrade over Dessens... However... Brewers didn't lose any lead tonight.. so come on Braun.. how about back to back to back with JJ and Prince.
  15. I am predicting Braun's first hit next inning...
  16. I am hoping the rotation pitches well enough that we can save his arm in Nashville and he can be K-Rod for us in September out of the pen.. Imagine having the following pen in September: Villy Thatcher Capellan Gallardo Wise Turnbow Coco Nothing like a bunch of power arms with a change-up specialist in the middle.
  17. Did anybody see the CNNSI article that mentioned Braun's call-up and call it a desperation move? CNNSI's definition of desperation: - Calling up one of the top 5 prospects in Baseball who is leading the league in everything. My definition of desperation: - Signing Jeffrey Hammonds to a 4 year contract. - Having Chad Moeller as a starting catcher - Wes Helms / Russell Branyan / Graffy / Counsell at 3B. - Kinney and Franklin making up 2/5 of your rotation. If this is desperation I will gladly take it over my definition.
  18. Let's face it this is all the matters tonight in the lineup: 2B Rickie Weeks 3B Ryan Braun SS J.J. Hardy 1B Prince Fielder You could pick the other 4 out of a hat and be fine... I don't mind moving Jenks up because he provides more protection then Hall currently. Also if they do bring a lefty it will just mean Hart PH's for Jenkins. which means the lineup would look like: 2B Rickie Weeks 3B Ryan Braun SS J.J. Hardy 1B Prince Fielder LF HART (PH) CF Hall As a Brewerfan.net member how could you not love that after how much we have followed this group over the last 4 or 5 years. Everybody has a right to their own opinions and how they express them but tonight I refuse to get upset about anything and will just sit here and bask in the glow of being a Brewer fan tonight. Can't wait until we see this lineup in 2 years with Inman on the mound.
  19. My lineup would be: Weeks Hardy Braun Fielder Hall Jenkins Estrada Gross/Mench/Hart/Gwynn Bush I think it less pressure batting in front of Fielder and after Hardy and seeing all fastballs.
  20. I think Woogie should start a Tony O'Tracker... not only is it appropriate to place next to Braun's stats I think the there is a serious chance he ends up hitting .150... Pretty said when he makes Counsell look like Babe Ruth..
  21. ERA 1.98.. the Chris Spurling era has officially begun.
  22. Same reason Zumaya wasn't closing for Detroit.. there isn't one..
  23. Or with the off day they might push him back a couple of days and he will just be delayed but not a miss start.
  24. I have a feeling one of these fastballs won't get by Hardy or Fielder..
