  1. I agree Katin might top out as a decent AAA player but he has hit everywhere.. I think he has a chance for a Kevin Mench type career.. though somedays I don't know if that is a complement..
  2. Every cub fans that buys a ticket to Miller park makes it easier for us to extend Prince or Braun in the future... They are just digging their own grave.. to that I say thank you Cub fans.. keep coming..
  3. Turnbow does not have phenomenal stuff. Anybody who averages 11+ K's per 9 innings must have something going for them.. especially since 0 of those strikeouts came on a changeup..
  4. With Hart stepping up.. doesn't it make sense to send Gwynn down or try to get Gross through waivers when Weeks returns? I don't see how those two are going to get any at bats right now..
  5. My realistic dream bullpen come September: Gallardo Parra Thatcher Villy T-bow Lidge Coco
  6. If we survive tonight than our bullpen is a mess for tomorrow. Good news is with Thursday being an off-day that Wise, T-Bow, and Coco can probably pitch again.. though I don't know if the thought of Wise and T-bow pitching makes me happy.
  7. Villy - average stuff, mentally tough.. T-Bow - phenomenal stuff, head-case Coco - Villy's head plus T-bow's arm.. Anybody else think we should trade someone like Parra for Lidge so we can pair him with T-Bow..
  8. I absolutely agreed with his statement so thanks for complementing me on my superior baseball knowledge as well. I only thought I had superior football knowledge because I can call plays better than any offensive coordinator http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif
  9. Katin starting to heat up..... I think he is a underrated...
  10. I agree I don't think Yost did anything wrong here.. he basically only has Villy and Coco that are dependable with T-Bow showing up half the time.. so faced with a day game tomorrow he tries to squeeze another inning out of Villy then goes to T-Bow in a low pressure situation (4 run lead, 1 on) and no brings in Coco in the 8th knowing he is blowing up his bullpen for tomorrow. I just don't see how you can find a lot of fault in that logic.
  11. At least they give you a reason to watch.. better than having to sit through Miller, Graffy, Counsell.
  12. Yeah.. I don't think Spurling's ERA will be seeing the 2's anytime soon.
  13. check the records... if you take Red Sox out of the east and Brewers out of the Central the two divisions are almost duplicates (except for the extra team in the Central)... Not the Brewers fault the other teams can't put it together.. of course I agree it would be nice if they had buried everybody this last month when they had a chance..
  14. I would say this team is drastically different from last year's.. they are playing bad and still above .500.. last year they played bad and fell off the face of the earth.. Also different.. - Hardy healthy - Prince Mashing - Youth (Braun, Hardy, Weeks, Hall, Hart, Fielder) will improve as the year goes on.. - I don't want to strangle Jenkins every game.. - We have 5 starting pitchers.. last year we could barely find 3.. - Yo is one call away..
  15. That is what happens when you go into Miller Park and go out onto the field at Wrigley to play the game... Also no team looks energetic when they are losing..
  16. Sure glad we kept Braun in Nashville for 2 months.. his glove is killing us.
  17. If he throws one hitter he is done for the next day so might as well save someone else's arm... If you are going to use him you might as well use him for multiple innings since he can't pitch consecutive days..
  18. I am disapointed in Shouse as well.. but it is Wise who blew the game wide open.. I like Wise when he can start an inning.. in that situation you have to give your pitchers a chance.. in a clear K situation you bring in your two worse strikeout pitchers... any other pitchers in the bullpen at least had a chance of a bullpen.. also my reasoning why Shouse needs to be replaced with Thatcher.. Yes.. that sound is me beating a dead horse..
  19. I agree he doesn't suck but he is a limited pitcher.. he is never going to be an all-star.. he can be serviceable but you have to live within his limits.. he isn't the workhorse that is going to close out games.. he will battle and keep you in it.. but you have to get him out when it is far enough enough for the pen.
  20. I agree with 1 - 3 in your rotation but your 4 and 5 guys you count your blessings and move on.. if it is 4 or 5 to 1 then let him pitch.. a one run game slam the door with the pen.. If it is Suppan, Sheets, or Capuano let them go.. Just my opinion..
  21. Yes.. I agree that the if they lose it is all on the offense.. doesn't make this inning any less frustrating though.. Yost is in a tough spot with how much Villy, Wise, Turnbow, and Coco have pitched lately..
  22. I will go on record and say I would have taken even Capellan over Shouse for the K potential.. Thatcher would look good right here.
  23. I hate being right... Bush is a six inning pitcher.. just take your six innings and be happy... Almost have to bring Turnbow don't you to look for a strikeout?
  24. Ok..here we are again.. Bush at 75 pitches after 6.. .. do you take this good outing from your 4th starter and bring in your pen.. with two off days in the next week I say use the bullpen (Villy, Wise, Coco)..
