  1. Cain's catch was way better. Yount's dive was almost completely unnecessary and almost theatrical. What about Jace Peterson's catch??? I turned to my wife when Cain made that catch and said it was better than Yount's. Jace's catch was cool, but it wouldn't have been a hit if he fails.
  2. My goodness. I said the game. Not the Brewers. I don't know if there is something wrong with me, but your reading comprehension is really struggling here. I don't enjoy 7-inning doubleheaders. I don't enjoy pitch clocks. I don't enjoy 3-batter minimums. I don't enjoy pitch counts. I don't enjoy watching the game of baseball at the professional level with the same enthusiasm as I did 20 years ago. That's it. I do enjoy when the Brewers have success and nothing about the two had anything to marry in these comments. I mostly watch the box score these days, for these reasons and hope the Brewers continue to play well. I just don't get the same enjoyment from the actual game. Today's example adding to the list.
  3. My take that I no longer enjoy the game as I did when I was a youth due to pitch counts (today's example), 7-inning doubleheaders, and other changes is laughable? Good grief. Has nothing to do with their success this season, I just don't enjoy watching the game as much as I did when I was younger. Haven't you announced several times, not just in this thread, that you no longer like the game? No.. don't.. stop. ... Come back. Please. Just stop watching if you don't like it; let the rest of us enjoy this season. I mostly have. Just follow the box score now, except for a handful of regular season games. Similar to Bucks games. Please do enjoy the season and don't let a fan's opinion about their overall enjoyment of the game itself ruin your day or season.
  4. I don't get as excited watching games as I did as a teen either. But I just watched the Brewers pitch a no hitter while standing in front of the TV next to my 12-year-old baseball crazy son, and saw him well up with tears as Omar made that final throw to 1st. Enjoyment evolves as well. Good perspective. And a kind reply. I appreciate it.

That is literally the history of the baseball. Read some Bill James. Yup. Absolutely. I just don't enjoy watching it as much as I did 20 years ago.

  7. Wow. It's been fun Brewerfan, but I might be done following baseball at this point. Not the game I enjoyed as a youth.
  8. I got in-game odds that Anderson gives up runs in the first two innings. 12:1. Feeling good about it. Would like to be wrong, but counting on the familiar story.
  9. They just had a stat on the Brewers tv broadcast about Donaldson's left field line-drive home run. Saying it would have been a HR in 30 of 30 ballparks. There is no way that gets over the Green Monster. Zero chance.
  10. Eh. He's having a season that's well below his standards, and they're losing 5-1. What is the origin of the "claws thing" anyways? "You're a Monster"?
  11. https://www.foxsports.com/mlb/brett-anderson-player-game-log?season=2021&seasonType=reg One Brewers win the entire month in games he's started (pending today's final) and he barely got enough outs to qualify for the win himself. There's just zero good feeling I get with Anderson being on the mound as a starter. I'd rather have Suter stretched back out.
  12. Hence why I said, "feels like". #Grammar101 I feel like when our average starters start, we have a pretty decent (50/50) chance of winning. Winning I suppose. Baseball is a long game and maybe they do come from behind to be average. Again, what I was stressing it feels like when I see Anderson is starting is one of those games where it takes 20 pitches to record an out, the Brewers are behind at home before they can ever record an at-bat. It's a day of nibbling around, walking guys, giving up a dinger or two and just a complete momentum killer of a day that leads to a loss if the bats aren't just completely alive. It's not endearing baseball to watch, which was the initial reply to the OP.

  14. ugh! Too bad it's a game where just know you're going to be behind before you have an atbat. Then extrapolates from there. I was hoping not to have to resort immediately to the consolation of, "Oh well, at least we won the first 2." Exactly. Each game is an opportunity. And yes, while you do have to have 5th starters, I just wish it would feel like ours atleast gives us a chance once in a while.

  16. If there is a game I might think of not watching to get things done around the house, as it feels like a Brewers loss, it's one started by Brett Anderson.
  17. You’re saying you’d rather that the Brewers play Atlanta? I don’t think it’s clear at all. What if the NLDS was against wild card winner Cincinnati? What if MKE sweeps the Reds, while ATL and SF play a full series, allowing the Brewers to set up and rest their rotation? So many variables. Just two days ago there was talk about the Reds easy schedule. Things change in the blink of an eye, or a swing of a bat. Very little is clear or simple. Pretty exciting, though. I didn't have consideration of CIN making the playoffs, TBH. Haven't really been involved in the conversation this year before last night. I just reckoned it was a 95% certainty in my brain that LAD/SF/SD were going to take the two of the wildcards. Would prefer to battle the NL East Champion in the NLDS was what I was thinking. As well as MKE has played on the road, I didn't see much of an advantage to getting the #1 and playing a really good NL West team.
  18. To be clear, we want Milwaukee simply with the #2 seed, yes? I have little interest in drawing the wild card winner for the NLDS at this stage.
  19. Didn't he work quite a bit yesterday? Pitched two innings last night. Probably wasn’t available at all tonight. Thanks!
  20. Houser was gassed. He could barely find the plate in the 6th and wasn't finding all that much in the beginning of the 7th. Gassed at 100 pitches in August? Good Grief. Do we have a strength/conditioning program problem again akin to the 90's?
