    After looking into this a little bit more, I believe a player on the 40 man doesn't eliminate them from being a PTBNL. Including PTBNL is a way to have access to players on the 40 man if the said player they want wouldn't pass through waivers. I found this here... • If the player is on the 40, there are two reasons why he wouldn’t have been traded at the time — he has to pass through waivers, or he’s disabled. If he didn’t pass through waivers, both teams would simply wait until after the season, at which time the waiver period ends. The disabled list also ends after the season.

    He's batting .240, but he has a .408 OBP and an .867 OPS. I don't look at Boggs as a savior, but he has gotta cover more ground in the OF and he has to be able to match the .644 OPS Kotsay is putting up. Agreed with logan that we need to be putting our best players out there and I can't conceive of a way Kotsay is one of the 25 best options. For those that want to know. Taylor Green's current slash line is .306/.380/.533 Make the call Doug. I don't get how this move hasn't been made yet. Hopefully, after the break. If it works out great, if not oh well (can't be worse at this point).

    Seems if it is PCL inflammation that it would make sense to put him on the DL. Why not bring up a hot bat in Gindl or a guy like Carroll who is having a nice season.

    Taylor Green goes 2 for 4 in the early game and is 1 for 1 with a bomb in the latter tonight, just saying. I know it doesn't always translate to the majors but I would have to think Melvin/RR are seriously considering it. At least I hope they are.
