  1. At best, you're being disingenuous. Attendance hit its peak in 2007,and shockingly, when the economy bottomed out in 2008,it dropped precipitously. And shockingly again, when it grew from 2010 til this last year, attendance grew once again and was the fifth highest ever. All TV ratings have dropped across the board, due to DVR,online watching, and generally more viewing options for everyone, but even then,MLB is making more on local cable deals than every other sports, and they have more eyes every night than almost anything else. And if you include the fact that almost every sport has playoffs games on cable, your argument there holds no weight. If you can't see the game has grown in the last 12 years,I don't have any idea what to tell you besides you're being intentionally obtuse over the .1% sales tax.Which I,and apparently the majority of the Milwaukee market are more than happy to pay in order to keep our team here and be a real city.
  2. I look at him and don't see how anyone could even call his tenure anything close to remotely successful. He had FAR more failings than steriods/PED's (to try and pass that all on the players union is taking it far too easy on Selig - he has accepted zero responsibility, and it's a joke) - Astros sale, Brewers taxpayer screwjob, all star game, mlb strike/canx world series, the simple conflict of being commissioner and part owner of a team.........just to name a few........ could really put a long list together............. but I don't want to turn this into a Selig bashing thread. Let's just agree to disagree. I'm sorry, but Brewers tax-payer screwjob? At best, most of what you count as his failings can be credited to him maybe 50%.He also just had a labor deal put in place that is going to protect the game for another, what 5 years? And teams are financially healthier than they've ever been? Compared to every other sports commissioner he's doing a great job.
  3. So if Kemp doesn't win the homer and RBI titles, its gotta be Braun, right?
  4. Yuni is back to having a terrible approach. Has he seen 6 pitches so far today?
  5. BWWWAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHAHAHAHAHAHAH. OH COME ON CASEY.Save some for next month.
  6. Can we please get a legitimate strike zone? Wolf's throw 3 balls this inning that were perfect strikes.
  7. Ruh Roh. I smell him grooving one here. Just don't hit it to Prince, Albert.
  8. Are the intentionally saying Tony Gumbo? Or did they not get,by his inflection,it was supposed to be Gumbel?
  9. Or the fact he's pitched like crap tonightAre you being serious? Garcia is a pretty good pitcher, though he's usually better at home. If Cliff Lee pitched like crap one night but made someone look foolish, would you say the same thing? If a pitcher's missed his spots and was nearing the end,I'd say the same thing. He didn't look like he belongs in the League, which he doesn't. Wilson shouldn't have been out there when you have even marginally better options on the bench
  10. Not a pitcher who should make anyone look overmatched like thatBased on what? His K/9 of 7.45? Or the fact he's pitched like crap tonight
  11. He looked amazingly overmatched.By Jaime Garcia. ...Jaime Garcia. So one of the best pitchers in league? Not a pitcher who should make anyone look overmatched like that
  12. Should've kept Carroll. I think many of us were saying that all along, but Wilson must be a bit grittier. Then we could've had Hairston and Carroll in the lineup against tough lefties. If only grit were a measurable statistic that Ron could point to during his post game press conference.
  13. I'm not one to care much about strikeouts and such, but Wilson sure whiffs a lot for a guy who carries a lot average, and a low SLG%. He looked amazingly overmatched.By Jaime Garcia. ...Jaime Garcia.
  14. Or they could be paying a below market price for an elite hitter in that time
  15. CC had one of the best half seasons in,what, the last 30 years with us? And basically got them into the playoffs almost single-handedly. I really am not embarrassed by that at all. That year was magic.
  16. Uh...dude...he's no bueno...he's been no bueno, and he's gonna continue to be so.What did Soup do to earn this spot?
  17. Soup should get ripped because he's a terrible pitcher. That's like saying Justin Harrell should get nothing but hugs and rainbows because Ted Thompson drafted him.
  18. Cmon guys...we had to watch the Cubs field almost the entire NL team last year...let's return the favor and possibly get an All Star Game untucking
