  1. Double Play David strikes again. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/laugh.gif I have no malicious feelings towards David Bell, but from here on forward he will be known as Double Play David, just as Matt Wise is known as Salad Tongs. It is too bad we couldn't pull out a W. When I heard at work Sheets was out again I was like http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/frown.gif , but as others said at least it isn't his shoulder, although pecs are fairly important for a pitcher (just thinking physiologically) We need to figure out a way to get some reverse mojo going on Jeff Suppan tomorrow. Someone find a really old pic of him and one of Cappy in college or something.
  2. Derrick still looks a little scared out there, but he got out of it. Nice job.
  3. If Turnbow blows this lead, I think the server may go down with an overload of Ned Yost is a horrible manager posts. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/wink.gif
  4. The way this ump is, that would have been a strike. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/laugh.gif You'd think they'd swing at the earlier, closer pitches knowing the zone has been wide all night.
  5. Tonight's lineups: Brewers CF Clark 2B Graffanino 1B Fielder LF Mench SS Hall RF Jenkins 3B Bell C Miller P Davis Cardinals SS Eckstein LF Duncan 1B Pujols 3B Rolen RF Encarnacion CF Edmonds 2B Belliard C Molina P Carpenter Whoever wanted Hall to hit 5th, you got it, but you also have Jenkins hitting behind him http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/wink.gif .
  6. Carpenter is a good pitcher. We tend to handle good pitchers well for some strange reason. I never understood it, but when we face guys that are in the top couple of tiers statistically we tend to play some of our better games. The game that makes me nervous is Sunday's game with Suppan, who has always had our number.
  7. Milwaukee Brewers Doug Davis (6-6, 5.02) http://us.news2.yimg.com/us.yimg.com/p/ap/20060725/capt.56e6cfc01ac94a83a3eb815677e778fe.pirates_brewers_baseball_wimg101.jpg Davis received a no decision in his last start, a 5 inning, 3 earned run performance at home against Cincinnati. Davis is 2-4 with a 5.40 ERA in nine career appearances against the Cards. @ St. Louis Cardinals Chris Carpenter (10-5, 2.93) http://us.news2.yimg.com/us.yimg.com/p/ap/20060726/capt.28fa229becf44231a876c7769cf8d184.cardinals_rockies_baseball_dxf102.jpg Carpenter was roughed up in his last outing, going 4 innings and giving up 5 runs in a loss in Chicago against the Cubs. Carpenter is 2-2 with a 5.17 ERA in five career starts against the Brewers.
  8. *waits for people to argue Prince's HR was meaningless because we were down 7* Another relatively clean inning for Turnbow in a non-pressurized situation. Hopefully we can build back positively instead of throwing him right back into the fire of pressure situations.
  9. I'd take two hits in a row at this point, that would be impressive.
  10. Our offense has looked pathetic this entire series. Yikes.
  11. Yeah, let us all just be glad we don't have to throw Jeff Weaver out there every 5th day.
  12. Watching Chad Moeller strike out was a lot less painful than watching us strand guys on third.* That's my random observation for the night. * = no one really expected Chad to get a hit, anyway.
  13. It's Ned Yost's fault? At least Tomo seems to be settling down a bit. If we can not make outs on the bases I hope we can still make a game of this.
  14. I'd say Ned is going with his "make contact" lineup, but then why would Jenks be in there? http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/laugh.gif . I'm thinking maybe Kim's crazy windup and throwing motion is less confusing to lefties.
  15. Get that man a cold beverage. He earned it after getting that save. Man. With that performance, he impressed me. To work out of that takes some mental moxy.
  16. How is that ruled a triple? Geez guys, communicate.
  17. Having a closer I am confident in? Wow, this is something I haven't felt in a while. Lets get him some runs to work with now. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/wink.gif
  18. Wow Tony, that was a nice play. Safe or not, we'll take it.
  19. Shouse and Salad Tongs slice 'em up! Now who's got the 8th? Do they send Wise back out? Kolb?
  20. Thank you Damian for saving me a post in the venting thread. Great job by Bush tonight. C'mon Brady.
  21. Fogg is another guy who has fared well against us in his career. Bush is going to need to bring it tonight.
  22. This isn't looking like a great start for Cappy. It is still early though.
  23. I'm surprised to see Hall hitting 7th. Throw in some churros and I'd have thought about it. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/wink.gif
  24. Hopefully Cappy will be on his game tonight and Cook won't own us too hard. If I remember correctly, Cook has taken us to the woodshed a couple times in his career.
  25. Ah, a win. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif Great to get D-Bow out there and get him a save. Hopefully Ben can put together 2 good starts, and we can get him a few runs. Harang is pretty tough on us.
