I don't know how you can say right now that we're putting the best line-up possible out there with Weeks in the line-up right now. He's struggling and so is the team. Yost needs to put in someone who can get the job done right now or at least make contact until the team is going good again. Then get Weeks back in for some at-bats during some games that have already been decided.
It didn't look like a blister, unless they popped the blister out on the mound. It looked like Sheets winced in pain when they were out checking him out. Hopefully it's not a broken bone-that would be an odd injury and surely a sign that the stars are aligned against the Crew.
Good job by Weeks to come back and make a nice play to make up for the earlier gaff. Sheets hitting 99 on the gun is good sign. Anytime he's in the mid to high 90's, he's darn near unhittable.
With the new Ichiro deal, it got me thinking. What is the fastest any player has ever gotten to 3000 hits? Not by age, but number of seasons. By the end of this year, Ichiro will be close to 1,600 hits in only 7 seasons.
I'd rather sit and pick the lint out of my jean pockets than listen to Mark Belling. I agree, if you're listening to Mark Belling about the Brewers, I think you need to check into the E-Ward.
I'm thinking Prince and Cordero are pretty close to locks up to this point, but who else do you think has a shot? Sheets, Estrada, Hardy I think all have outside shots right now. EDIT: Title -PF EDIT: Title -1992
