  1. Who is out there that thinks we can come back today??? Bueller...Bueller??? I think that we could make up for Carlos a bit and with our pitching better, I think we could make a run, but the losses of Weeks and Koskie and the pure inablility of Jenkins kills us.
  2. We really miss Weeks...offense seems punchless and I really can see his value at the top of the lineup. I'm surprised that not that many people are too concerned about him on this site. I know that the errors are very much frowned upon, but I only think one error maybe cost us a game. If he is out for the season, we are done. Period.
  3. My Turnbow bobblehead just tripled in value after I ripped its head off. Look for it on EBay.
  4. Put it this way...Turnbow has blown 5 saves...all of them losses in the last three weeks. If we win those games like we were supposed to, we would have been on top of the wild card. I can't imagine one single player killing a team like turnbow has. Yes, we need to be better at adding insurance runs and being fundamentally better but it still comes to the point where a closer needs to do his job. We now are 5 games under .500. If we would have won the games Turnbow blew, we would be 5 over and sitting pretty. Don't forget, he tried to blow the game against the Reds when Dunn hit a homer in a non-save situation, but Jenkins bailed him out.
  5. I don't want to hear ONE fan say don't give up on the season. We need to trade Lee for a top flite AAA guy and a bullpen guy that can help us next season. The Brewers are worried they will lose fan base if the trade Lee, but a understanding knowledgable Brewer fan will understand that it wil help this team tremendously.
  6. I am off the bandwagon! What a joke! If Yost goes to him in the clutch again...he will deserve to lose his job.
  7. This is a big game for Turnbow. If he blows another one, he will definitely lose his spot and I will jump off his bandwagon. For now, I am on the bandwagon and have been since the beginning, bu enough will be enough. It will be about throwing strikes and his curve.
  8. Very nice job by Shouse and a decent job by Wise. I back turnbow normally, but I believe we should stick with Wise because it looks like his change is working tonight. What do you think?
  9. Guys, I'm normally not a negative guy, but I have two quick points... 1. Does this game remind you of Wednesday's game? 2. Do you want to ring Daron and Bill's neck every time they keep talking about the god darn Louisville Sluggers? It makes them look so Bush League.
  10. Jenkins non-clutch again...
  11. Jenkins totally dogged it to first!!! I can handle his bad streaks, but lack of hustle is not acceptable!!! That is it. I am done with him! Yost better move his butt down in the order or give him a good benching!
  12. I was kidding about Deer and Gormanhttp://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/embarassed.gif
  13. Oops...I meant batting coaches. It is getting late.
  14. Brettac... I think Joe Rogan could do a ample job as our batting coach. Good call! Since we are nominating pitching coaches, I'm also thinking Gorman or Rob Deer since they had two of the prettiest swings I ever saw.
  15. One more on Brady...check his OPS with RISP. It is .433 with RISP!!!!!!
  16. OBP is not a sabermetric by itself. I'm sorry about that. But his OBP says nothing about what he is TRULY doing for the team. I assume you are watching the games and remember one big hit...I believe it was a homer against the Nationals when Wise blew it the next inning...but Clark has been awful beyond that. He will be an afterthought two years from now and will be a trivia question that we laugh about in years to come.
  17. Ohh, and about Wynegar... Is he totally to blame for this? No, he is not. However, sometimes it is good to shake things up and midseason and batting coaches are often good scapegoats. Sometimes it sends a message, most of the time it doesn't. Many times it means nothing. So what do the Brewers really lose if they dump him? Nothing...but there is a slight chance they can gain something.
  18. Brettac Are you going to back up Brady Clark. If one player has gone down the tubes this year, it is him. So what if his OBP is high because he has low runs scored and is the worst batter on the team with runners on base. Have you seen how many times he has hit the ball hard this year? Everything is a soft fly or a chopper. How many extra base hits does he have? I know he does not hit homers, but at least he could get a gapper once and awhile. And please don't give me any sabermetrics for him. If we do that you will have to bring sabermetric legends Keith ginter, 3TO, and Ben grieve back then too because they are so good at Billy Ball.
  19. Bucksman You are a bit harsh, but true in a few respects. As I travel for my job, alot of times we will go out for functions with people all over the country. They do not really care about the Brewers and don't deem them as a threat. Usually, they will bring up Robin, Molly, and Rollie and say we have a great nickname. However, who cares what other people think. I enjoy being a rare Brewers fan in Chicago and I believe we will have our day sooner or later and it will be the sweetest thing ever. I don't know if you are a Packers fan, but that year they won was awesome because I was a puching bag for Dallas and Bears fans for years. Our day will come...probably not this year...but it will.
  20. More on Wynegar... Come to think of it. Look at what he has done since he got here... Jenkins regressed Hardy constantly changed his approach. Last year walks and Ks nearly even. This year striking out 4 to 1 before injury. Fielder out of whack Hall seems lost Clark stinks (I won't blame that on Wynegar) Moeller went from bad to atrocious The only solid hitter is Lee and that's because he is stubborn and will not listen to Wynegar at all. It reminds me of what happens when players play under the Dusty staff of coaches. While they are there-they suck. Trade them and they become serviceable once they are properly coached.
  21. Let's all cool off for a day and look for Yost to make adjustments and see if he makes moves that are easy for us to see. First of all, where is Koskie? Is he still dizzy? He definitely helps the lineup with his solid plate discipline. We had ZERO walks today and constantly swung early in the count. Second, do not let Turnbow close until he can throw his slider for a strike. Let Capellan try. Third, do not let Brady step his sorry butt onto the field. He is clearly no value to us or on the trade market. Fourth, start evaluating Wynegar. What does he bring to the team? Why has the team constantly struggled during his regime to score with RISP?
  22. Guys, I was so excited when we finally got a game over .500 against the Cubs last week and I really was starting to believe. However, I told my brother that the turning point was Bill Hall hitting into a DP and us scoring no runs after we loaded the bases. This one is hard to swallow and am hard pressed to believe anymore. I am not jumping off because of one game, but because this continues to happen and who says it will stop. Turnbow should not close until he shows he can get the curve over. If he can, he is dominate. If not, he is subpar. We have no one else who can close unless we just hand the ball to Capellan and see what he can do. I do see improvement from him and it would not hurt to try. Also, sorry all you Carlos lovers, but he needs to be traded for someone like Billingsly. Then we probably will officially be out for the year, but can be players in free agency in the off season.
  23. I'm realistically hoping that we win one game this series. However, if we sweep or win two out of three, it would be HUGE for us and will maybe the series we need to get really thinking about the playoffs.
