  1. Im hoping to make it out to the ballpark next week for the full team workouts..
  2. You are correct in the fact that the land for the ballpark was donated. It was donated by the Maryvale developer John F. Long. Dont quote me on specifics but I believe Maryvale was intended to be a master planned community way back in the 50s-60s with affordable housing/malls,etc. That being said, as with most crime ridden areas, if you are minding your business and not out looking for trouble you will more often than not be left alone. I have friends that work for Phoenix PD out of Maryvale and colleagues who work out of fire station 25 who pretty much all say the same thing regarding crime they see out there. Its generally "bad guy on bad guy" stuff. Anyhow, Im totally with Fleenor on disliking the Rising Stars game being out in Surprise. Its a nice ballpark, but there is no real good access to get out there, its pretty much either Grand Ave or Bell Road, both which can be a real pain to drive on. Who knows, maybe the Salt River reservation would be open to putting another ballpark out there like the Dbacks/Rockies stadium. I would be ok with that.
  3. Well its called "Murdervale" or "Scaryvale" for a reason. During the day you are fine to go to a game there but at night its not a place to venture out into..which is why there are never night games scheduled there. That being said, I would love nothing more if they built a new facility up in North Phoenix/Anthem area (closer to me lol) plus its a developing area with retail/food options near by.
  4. I was in Pittsburgh in 2009 for an Astros/Pirates game. We stayed at the Westin which at the time was the opposing teams hotel (not sure if it still is or not). Nice hotel and a short walk to the ballpark. We hung out in the hotel bar after the game with Carlos Lee (friend knows him through her former job) and other Astros players. The Heinz Field tour is pretty neat if you are into touring different football stadiums.
  5. My friend won the mini sausage races last season. He said it was a pretty fun experience. On a semi related note, Im thinking about picking up a 10 pack tomorrow (since im out of state) and I was wondering if I would need to buy a package for my son too, hes under 2 years old, not sure what the ticketing rules are for children.
  6. I just find it odd that there has been no official relase from MLB at this point. Only ESPN. Is that normally standard practice? Figured MLB.com would at least have a vague paragraph saying "Braun tests positive, etc"
  7. It could have been worse, it could have been the Beast Mode character throwing the first pitch of game 6. That to me is far more embarrassing than the F bombs being dropped.
  8. It was written in the stars...
  9. Rainout for tonight...We dont have to worry about rain at Miller Park...just saying..
  10. link Gibson named NL MOY
  11. Welp, it was a fun run guys. I don't even know if I'm heartbroken, mad,or sad right now...numb I guess. I really love how Prince is laughing it up in the dugout...he's getting paid either way.
  12. Im going to be optimistic here, but maybe, just maybe we can have a repeat of the first 2 games of the NLDS weekend where Bucky won, Packers won, and we won twice.
  13. if Big Al hits a HR tonight I hope he takes one in the ribs at his next AB. What do we have to lose??
  14. im so envious of all of you (and the other 44,000) that will be at the game tomorrow. Unfortunately I will be at work in AZ tomorrow, but im hoping we can extend the series and take game 7 so I can be back in Milwaukee later this week.
  15. I hate to say it, but I don't see us or STL beating the Rangers. They are getting a lot of timely hits and their fielding iss good and Neftali Feliz is lights out. Its currently 15-4 in the 8th
  16. Where does one find a Bucky Badger blowup yard doll??? Although I think my HOA would probably throw a fit about it.
  17. What about dropping Weeks in the order and moving Betancourt up? Yuni cant be any worse in the 5 hole than Rickie has been at this point.
