I met Carlos through a mutual friend a few years back while they were in Pittsburgh to play the Pirates. We had a few beers at the hotel bar and talked sports and farming for a while. Real low key laid back guy. Seemed to have a real passion for the game of baseball in talking to him.

looking at the replay it does appear he is favoring his shoulder more than the collarbone. I can't recall but when he broke his collarbone in AZ was it on his left side as well?

Its bugging me that for the first time in the almost 7 years ive been with my department, I finally injure myself on duty. Not by lifting a heavy patient,or performing extrication, but simply stepping out of the truck awkwardly. Talk about a major fail. Its only day 3 of being off and im already going stir crazy on the DL

I'd put the guy on blast via the local media. Im not sure how the news outlets are up in Madison, but at least here in Phoenix the news channels eat these kind of stories like candy.

Id be more concerned about the risk of commotio cordis (a blow to the chest which can throw you into vfib) from a line drive than a ball off the head. The chest area is a much larger mass (target) than the head. But it isnt realistic to put chest protectors on position players.
