  1. We should see Mench tonight with Wolf being a lefty, no?
  2. Looking at the ESPN.com recap of the game, they listed the usual game notes...time of game, temperature, umpires, attendance, etc. What I found cool was that they actually listed the percentage of the capacity. Today Miller Park was 106.9% full. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/laugh.gif
  3. Matt Murton makes a diving catch to rob Josh Hamilton of a hit in his first Major League at-bat.
  4. A 7-1 win against a team favored to win it's division is a nice way to start the season, I must say.
  5. I have to say that Rickie's impressed me with his eye so far today...he's laying off those balls in the dirt more.
  6. With Ben you know you're going to see some solo homers from the other team...not too much to worry about (knock on wood).
  7. For those of you who use MLB.tv, when does the feed usually become available? I'm a newbie at this and I don't want to miss anything. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/frown.gif
  8. A-Rod overruns a popup in foul territory, and gets booed before the top of the first is even over...kind of feel bad for the guy. Pavano looked decent in the first inning..even Crawford's leadoff single was on a good pitch that Crawford took the other way. Baldelli got a hold of one, but it didn't carry very well and Matsui hauled it in. I'm interested to see how Kazmir does against the Yankee lineup.
  9. For whatever reason, Alex Rodriguez is wearing high socks.
  10. Closing in on 60 minutes until the first pitch...this is like Christmas morning.
  11. Only about 14 hours to go. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/wink.gif
  12. The Cards are looking very beatable so far. Either that or the Mets are looking like worldbeaters.
  13. This thread is a thing of beauty. I can't wait for tomorrow afternoon.
  14. I believe the short answer would be "historically bad." You didn't even mention that Jason Simontacchi will be their #3 starter. Their rotation is going to end up being John Patterson and a bunch of guys who would be rotation fillers in AAA. I could see Patterson having a year like Ben Sheets had in '04 -- but that's assuming he stays healthy. If he goes down again, 120 losses wouldn't be out of the question for the Nats.
  15. Sounds like Suppan turned in a pretty impressive 3 innings...good to hear.
  16. Bring back Doug Davis. Seriously, though, it sounded like Vargas was pitching to contact a bit and got burned by an inexperienced Hall in CF. The good news is that Billy has a month to figure out which routes to take to the ball. That or Marco Scutaro is a lock for AL MVP.
  17. Sounds like the A's are continuing to pick on Hall in the 2nd -- first a liner off the wall for a double that BA and Bill said turned Hall around a couple times, and then a single that dropped right in front of him.
  18. Casey, did you try the brewers.com main page? That's where I got the link...there should be a link to the webcast on one of the main stories there. Edit: 4 posts with help within 2 minutes. This is definitely a helpful community. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/happy.gif
  19. If Kevin Mench gets a base hit and no one was there to see it, did it really happen?
  20. Sounds like Vargas is having a bit of a rough start -- Shannon Stewart scores on a Marco Scutaro stand-up triple and the A's get runners on the corners before Vargas gets the first out. I like how BA sounds calling the Brewers, though. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif Edit: Thanks for the update from the game. The way Anderson made it sound, it was just a triple off the wall...no mention of Hall misplaying it.
  21. I had no idea who Jim Paciorek was (this game was played before my time), so I looked him up on baseball-reference. Turns out '87 was the only year he made it in the majors, and he hit .228 in 101 AB's.
  22. I'll laugh if the Reds lose again and the Brewers still don't lose any ground. The wildcard winner might end up with 79 wins. As for Lee, he wouldn't be doing anything to help this team do any better, anyway.
  23. Brian Shouse turns in a Turnbow-esque performance tonight. Bases loaded with no one out.
  24. Chad freaking Qualls records a 1-2-3 inning.
