  1. When is this thing gonna post? It's terrible that there's just nothing interesting going on this time of year! Looking forward to taking my 5 yr old son to FL 2nd week of March to see spring training for the first time! Just wish we could get to AZ and see the Brewers!
  2. Thanks for the projections...always interested in what we will see here in WV. The folks in Brevard are in for a treat next year! I see several of these guys as future major leaguers. They really tend to score runs in bunches, so they were never out of it this season!
  3. Let me add another name to the players to watch category that I haven't seen discussed.....Patrick Ryan. Watched him out of the pen in WV this year, 5-2 1.87 ERA, 91.2 IP 27BB 73K .230AVG....Always seemed in control and acted like he "knows how to pitch". Only other bull pen guy I've seen in two years in WV as reliable is Joe Thatcher who was lights out in Hawaii Winter ball. Just my 2 cents from WV
  4. Watched Angel all season in WV, and he has the talent to be a good big league catcher if the ankle heals. He has an absolute cannon of an arm, and his biggest struggle right now is just his age, and inside his own head. When he's going good, he can take the ball to all fields.....has some power but I think more will develop as he ages. When things aren't going so well at the plate, it seems he just struggles more in his head because he is trying so hard. Seems to be a great guy, and plays extremely hard.
  5. I am fairly new to the forum, but is the Power 50 a ranking of Prospects, or who is the next to get to the bigs? As for the earlier discussion of Inman, I watched him this season before injury and after, and my take on him is that not only does he have talent, but he is a smart pitcher. From where my seats are here in WV, I could see him in the dugout between innings, and he appears to approach the game in a manner that is way beyond his years along with his talent. I saw Yo here the year before as well, and I think at least at the A ball level, Inman truly compares with Yo, and actually just to watch his mental approach, impressed me more. He was truly dominant this year!
  6. I picked up Johnny Narron's jersey for my 5 year old son. They are pretty nice. Johnny and my boy struck up a friendship when he was with the Power last year. He is a really fine man...if he's as good with the young players as he was with my son, he'll help develop a lot of fine ball players.
  7. I remember seeing some talk towards the end of the season about some interest in taking an ad in the minor league parks....if you guys want a point man in WV, I'll be happy to work on it. Maybe an ad in the park as opposed to the game program? LMK if you need a volunteer...hopefully with these guys committing to a couple years, next year they might want to build a little equity in the brewers!
  8. I actually witnessed that 6 HR inning and it was truly something...these guys weren't exactly power hitters, but they seemed to thrive off of each other all season long....runs always seemed to come in bunches!
  9. Commenting on the Power article...FANTASTIC! I was at the ball park at least 3 nites out of 5 this season, and this is one special bunch of guys! Cain when his body matures and fills out will be an outfield star in the bigs....but add Ford the Flash, and Brantley, and that is one impressive outfield. There were few balls that didn't just go over this groups heads that weren't run down! Ford is "first step quick" and that is something that changes the way a pitcher pitches which can be seen in Lorenzo's very consistent success! Salome is just Salome....gun for an arm, a real solid line drive hitter who can spray the ball, and a fantastic person....I watched him interact with kids after games this year, and that's what baseball needs. Pitching is another big positive....Inman is just dominant....knows how to pitch, and knows when he is dominant...BIG PLUS! Welch, Garrison, also very strong and should continue to develop....Thatcher can be and will be a dominant closer, and Ryan was the closest thing to money in the bank I have seen at low A ball period! Everybody call 304-344-Bats, and help keep these guys in WV!
  10. I'll take the Power cap, but I'd prefer they stay and you keep it! I tell you what, my family and I served as a host family for WV this year, and really got to know several of the guys...these guys here were fantastic...great ballplayers, and great people! Cain, Ford, Inman, Salome, Gamel, Bell, Brantley.....I can't wait to watch these guys in the bigs some day....It will be a dream outfield with those three guys, and Salome is one of the most fan friendly players I have ever met.....then there's Inman, Derek Miller, Dave Welch, Steve Garrison, Joe Thatcher, and I saw Kevin Robert hit 97 on the gun one day....they may not be Brewers....yet! but they sure were fun to watch!! Thanks guys!
  11. According to folks here in Charleston, Salome has already had surgery and now is the proud owner of an ankle with 8 pins and a metal plate. Breaks my heart to see this because that would have to make the recovery tough on a catcher.
  12. For what it's worth, I talked to Angel over the weekend and he was having some tightness in his back. Someone else said he had been having "spasms". Weather around here has been 95+ with loads of humidity....may just be wearing down from all the time behind the plate.
