I mean, look at the rest of the lineup. You could move Moustakas up but even that's not a great move with a lefty pitcher. After that your options are Aguilar, Perez, Gamel, Arcia and Davies. Braun may be the best option, sadly.
You really underestimate how little I care about shows like this. I've probably seen the ending of The Sopranos because it was the fade to black thing that pissed everyone off but I can guarantee that I've never seen a second of The Wire.
Remember when the Mets wanted Lucroy for D'Arnaud and Mets fans were like that's an awesome deal for the Brewers and Brewers fans were like you guys are on crack? Turns out Mets fans were on crack.
I'm shocked....SHOCKED I tell ya that trwi7 would take one of the most popular TV shows of all time and complain about it! Guessing you had equal disdain for the Soprano's, the Wire...other shows that are escaping my memory at the moment? I have literally never seen a second of The Sopranos or The Wire.
Why would you think that he couldn't? Perhaps he could have. I don't remember him as an incredibly patient hitter. We'll never know. His career BB% is almost 3% higher than Gamel's and he swings at pitches out of the zone 1% less than Gamel.
Is this meant to be sarcasm or do you genuinely believe he's a future ace? I get the sarcasm part because he's still only in A ball and he's had a lot of arm issues and then you throw in the word "another," when I don't think we've developed an ace since Sheets and I can see it being sarcasm(plus...you don't always have the sunniest disposition on here when it comes to projecting future prospects). On the other hand, there's zero question with the stuff he's showing right now, he could be a future ace. So I'm curious if you were being totally serious. It's a joke that was basically pointing out that Brew crew 92 was saying we had 3 aces in Woodruff, Burnes and Peralta with another on the way in Nelson before the season started.
The $18 million on Grandal was money well spent, IMO. What difference making pitcher would this team have acquired this off-season instead for $18 million? We could have had Miley for 25% of that. Signing Grandal didn't stop Stearns from signing Miley.
He needs to do the exact opposite of this. He needs to throw the ball up in the zone more often with his spin rate. He's given up four hits this year on fastballs in the upper third of the strike zone. Three of them were homers but I wouldn't say they were terrible pitches. DeJong and Pedersen made the best contact, both homers with 100+ mph exit velocity at the top of the strike zone. Heyward got one too but it only left at 95 mph (still hard but not exceedingly so) and barely made it over the right field wall. The other was a pitch off the plate that left Goldschmidt's bat at a scorching 36.5 mph.
