  1. It's Chicago. Uhh, no. It was a Brewers fan.
  2. I have Parker 4th. The lowest ceiling of the top 4, not a good defender and the dreaded 3/4 tweener to me.
  3. Gomez's biggest fan apparently. The same girl who cried when he talked to her during his bobblehead day.
  4. RRR says "we run on contact with runners on 2nd and 3rd. He just did what he was told."
  5. Can't wait for Jerry to tell us how well Jimmy true da ball.
  6. Jimmy Jeff is the reliever that played years ago. He's listed at 6'6 245.
  7. 100% blame to Gomez here. If you look at the replay Braun didn't slow down, he shortened his step to make sure he touched home plate. Gomez on the other hand was already in scoring position. Be satisfied with 2nd base and the run scoring.
  8. http://awesomegifs.com/wp-content/uploads/dead-horse.gif That looks more like a camel than a horse.
  9. Just have to accept the fact that some fans see things through rose colored glasses. Either that, or this is an epic troll job. I see things that others are to blinded to see. We'll revisit this another time. I must be too blinded to see the extra "o" that should be there.

  11. Awful. There's a reason there are rumors Love won't be in Minnesota much longer. It's because he can opt out of the final year of his contract and look to sign somewhere in California or New York. So it's Love for 1 year and dropping 11 spots in the draft. Horrible value.
  12. Hell, there could be a grounder hit to the right side and he could run over and fake pull a hammy.
  13. No interest at all. Especially for a corner outfield spot.
  14. I guess that's not a big deal to me. I mean it's not like a guy who hit .300/.350/.450 for 5 years in AAA is going to suddenly improve to .350/.450/.600 just because he's been in AAA for years. What I do like about Gindl is that he's hit .292/.368/.468 vs righties in AAA. That's a valuable bat to have with Davis struggling horribly against righties this year (.171/.210/.316) even if Gindl only gives say .240/.325/.425 against righties. I'd also like Taylor Green up here as well. I know he's not on the 40 man roster but he could just take Overbay's spot. Even if he only hits as "well" as Overbay, he has position flexibility that Overbay doesn't. Like I said, I definitely wouldn't send Gennett down with Overbay and Herrera on the roster but I do like the idea of giving Rickie more starts to see if he has at least gained something back from 09-11 seasons. But this is getting way off topic.
  15. What are you talking about? Gindl was in A ball at 19. Scooter was 20. Gindl was in A+ at 20. Scooter was 21. Gindl was in AA at 21. Scooter was 22. Gindl was in AAA at 22. Scooter was 23.
  16. Well he's hit better while being younger than Gennett at the different leagues. .292/.366/.458 career minor league line for Gindl compared to .297/.337/.409 for Gennett. Gindl also hit .240/.340/.439 in his 150 or so plate appearances last year and his BABIP was only .262 compared to .380 for Gennett. Now that Gennett's BABIP is back in the normal range (.306 this year) we're seeing the kind of hitter he is and what many of us expected him to be. Not sure I'd send him to the minors when there is much more dead weight to cut from this roster but I'd rather have Gindl up here now than Herrera or Overbay and probably Gennett as well. Especially when our 5th outfielder is currently Herrera.
  17. Of course he should be in the minors. Is anyone really disputing that? The problem is we can't put him in the minors and if we tried he would either be on some other teams MLB roster or in the Pirates minor league system. I'd love nothing more than to have him pitching in Wisconsin or Brevard County but the fact is we can't. So keep him in the majors and save him for spots like last night where we need extended innings or when the offense finally wakes up and we have a 7-10 run lead in the 7th go to him and let him finish the game. I have a much bigger problem with several spots on this roster right now than I do with Wang being on it.
  18. This is a four player draft. You don't move out of the top 4 unless you are getting an offer you absolutely can't refuse. The 5th pick, a late 1st and an early 2nd isn't that type of offer.
  19. Because he's an elite young athlete who probably wanted the shutout badly. If it's not about the pitch count, then what's the harm? I wouldn't want any of my favorite team's young pitchers throwing 130 pitches in a game. Like I said it's not some magical 100 pitch count but 8 shutout innings is great work and 110 pitches to me is plenty considering the game situation. If it's say 1-0 and your bullpen isn't very good, go ahead and send him out. To me there was just no reason to send him out for the 9th. Don't really care about him pitching a CG shutout.
  20. You do realize Randy Johnson walked almost 100 batters in 160 innings with an ERA around 5 in his second big league season at age 25 right? It's not like he came up and boom he's the Randy Johnson everyone knows now. He's not hurting the team and he has the upside to become a quality starter. Keep him.
