  1. Lizard = Opponents' offense Kitten = Brewers' pitchers http://i.minus.com/i756CgF9tf78w.gif
  2. Congrats to you RobDeer 45! I'll second TLB and hope mom and baby are doing well. My dad thought doing the opposite was a good idea with me. Of course he's not much of a baseball fan.
  3. 94-96 from what I saw. I'm still a big fan of Peralta. His LOB% is really low and the strikeouts aren't there right now but his sinker generates so many ground balls which probably isn't good with Betancourt and Weeks on the infield right now. If he can work high in the strike zone with his fastball and get players to chase the strikeouts will come, even if he still throws his fastball 70% of the time and the sinker will always generate ground balls.
  4. Didn't they win it in 2011? But I am looking forward to the game 7 tomorrow, should be a good one. Red Wings are leading Anaheim 3-1 in the 2nd period of game 7, see if they can hold on. Boston did. He's talking about if Toronto won. I've been watching pretty much all the games. Love seeing St. Louis lose. Sucks that Detroit and Chicago have to match up. I hate both teams but Chelsea Dagger annoys the hell out of me an I don't hate Detroit fans, so go Wings. I think Ottawa takes out Pittsburgh as well.
  5. He was horrible for the last few months of 2011. His best month after May of 2011 was August when he only hit .256/.307/.366. If it weren't for 2012, he would have more months with OBP's under .300 than he would have over .300.

  7. Lucroy's slump has been brought up numerous times in the local sports talk/media, however the difference is not his skin color...it's that Lucroy doesn't have a track record of slumping like that of Rickie Weeks. That's because Lucroy hasn't been a good hitter until last season. We now have 3 out of 4 years where Lucroy has been a bad hitter.
  8. Totally agree with this. Salary relief might be enough for me to bite so we don't have to worry about the 2015 option vesting.
  9. The challenge with that is whether umpires will think that changing a call will make their fellow umpires look bad. Will they make the right call, or will they be more concerned about perception by their peers? All they're doing is watching the replay. We can all see the replays, MLB can see the replays and if the press box ump makes bad calls, he gets fired. If all you have to do is watch replays to determine whether the call was right and you don't do a good job, you don't keep your job.
  10. FWIW, Weeks' LD% is about 3% higher than Lucroy's (though Weeks is striking out a ton more and hitting a ton of groundballs, over 52%).
  11. The simple solution would be to hire 15 more umpires to make it a 5 man crew with the newly hired umpires role specifically to be up in the press box watching replays of close calls. The press box ump has a buzzer which is attached to the crew chief and is buzzed when a replay takes place. Have a phone in the home dugout hooked up to the press box where the press box ump can give the crew chief the call. Homeruns, trapped balls, close plays on the bases and fair and foul are eligible for review. You get two minutes to review the play, if it isn't clear within two minutes of the buzz down to the umpire the call on the field stands.
  12. It's still Roenicke's decision and the fact that Roenicke hasn't given him a day off yet, even though he may not want one is horrible.
  13. The problem with Yuni is that he's pretty much terrible one way or another wherever you put him. His offense is really only tolerable at shortstop but you don't want him playing there because he's an awful defender. His defense gets better if you put him at 3rd or 2nd but his bat is awful there (especially at 3rd).
  14. Because it's likely his contract will exceed his production in the next couple of years and it would be nice to not have that happen if at all possible. I don't view this as a playoff team, so having a "#2 starter for the playoffs" doesn't really make much of a difference to me.
  15. Granted he was a reliever and his walk numbers weren't as low but Zach Braddock's 2009 season was pretty ridiculous. 40.1 IP, 1.79 ERA, 7 BB, 62 K.
  16. I'm pretty sure Professor McDougal cast the deciding vote to keep him in school and make him graduate.
  17. So, how about Melvin saying they didn't want to trade Cruz but the outfield was full with Hart and Braun? That was pretty annoying.
  18. I would take pretty much every pitcher in that group over our best pitching prospects.
  19. I'll waste a $10 million on a complete bust if I can get an elite talent along with him. Better than spending at least $30 million on mediocre pitching at best.

  21. Karros looking like an even bigger idiot now. "Wainwright said you made that big defensive play for me and then gave me the lead. I've already decided I'm going to shut the Brewers down for the rest of the game." Something like that. Moron.
  22. He's from Chicago. This is exactly like Dwyane Wade. "He'll leave the Heat to sign with the Bucks because he went to Marquette!"
