  1. If you keep moving players around in the lineup whenever they have 40 bad at bats you're going to have a lineup that's constantly changing and then fans complain that the manager isn't putting out a consistent lineup. And Lucroy's career BB% is 6.4. His OBP is going to be tied a lot to his batting average, much more so than Weeks. So if Lucroy has a streak of games where he goes say 8 for 40, his OBP will likely struggle to break .250.
  2. More than that. The Eastern Dakotas, Northern Iowa, Western Wisconsin and the UP of Michigan. Granted there isn't a ton of population in the Dakotas and the UP.
  3. But if you're going by markets that have more than one team you're basically saying that Oakland is a bigger market than the Twin Cities and that obviously isn't true.
  4. I really doubt potential free agents care or even pay attention to it. Could you imagine a free agent saying. "Wow, they traded Shaun Marcum in August when they were out of the race to a playoff contender so he would have a chance to play in the postseason. How nice of them. I'm strongly considering signing with them because of that."
  5. Leave it to Briggs to use a one month sample to say a player has established themselves as an ace or a position player starter. There's no reason to extend Yo right now. He's signed through 2014 with a club option for 2015. That takes him through age 29. At most we should only add a couple of years to that and in that case, why would Yo want to further delay his free agency?
  6. I like Chinooks better. It makes more sense, regionally, too. But I shall arbitrarily declare your idea dumb, because it isn't my idea. I challenge you to a duel.
  7. Ugh. Why are we trying to steal bases with runners on the corners, one out and Braun batting?
  8. Are you in Wisconsin? If you are Wisconsin Statute 704.29 says that you are responsible for rent and advertising for the property until it is leased to someone else. When it is leased to someone else you are no longer responsible. I'm sure it's probably like that in other states but I can't say for sure.
  9. I like Chinooks better.
  10. What's the $400 million commodity? It's certainly not the Bucks.
  11. Shoulders are far worse for pitchers than a TJ surgery and this is Narveson's second shoulder surgery.
  12. I hope they have Dee Gordon batting leadoff. Spending all that money for the power hitters and yet nobody on base ahead of them.
  13. Can we all agree now that it was just a hot streak?
  14. I think the Red Sox are actually getting more than fair value. Nick Punto is just a backup infielder, he doesn't have a ton of value. Beckett and Crawford are bad contracts and you could make the argument Gonzalez is too. Getting two really good prospects plus some filler is a good deal for the Red Sox.
  15. You make it sound like Shields is a free agent. He's not.
  16. I'd like to run Hawk Harrelson over as long as we're talking about the White Sox.
  17. I think it just means that Bartolo Colon ate Melky Cabrera.
  18. And to think, just a couple months ago people were making the argument that the Brewers would pick up Wolf's option.
  19. I'd ask him if he'd be willing to come back if he's traded.
  20. From the department of redundancy department. Bill: The only right hander the Cubs have on their bench is Joe Mather, a right hander.
  21. Down goes United! Down goes United!
  22. At least you don't have a biology class to go to and the teacher asks you if it's raining outside. /flashback to sophomore year of high school
  23. Love the Khris Davis name drop on the broadcast by Scott Martens.
