Well, he's in his second slump of the season already and he missed a ton of time last year with the same wrist injury that got him demoted to the minors in 2007.

I guess since Kendall isn't here anymore Macha had to find a new guy to start every game when he shouldn't be. Looks like Weeks is the guy this year.

Does it matter? It's not like we're going anywhere this year. I'd rather get as many young guys as possible on the team to see what they can do and what their future roles with the team could be.

From Brewers Notes: Of course he's starting him again today. Maybe in his old age, he forgot that Weeks could use a day off.

I'd actually like to see Dillard. He's getting ground balls, he's striking out almost a batter per 9 innings and he's walking less than 1 per 9.

How did they completely fall apart? They still won 84 games in by far the toughest division in baseball in a tougher league than the Brewers play in. BTW, that 84 wins would be the second most by the Brewers in the last 19 years. And the Rays didn't need to make a midseason trade and have that starter pitch on three days rest for the last month of the season in order to just barely squeak into the playoffs on the last day of the season.

Me neither. Haudricourt is giving his opinion that it would be really difficult for Macha to replace Hoffman, so he's of the opinion that Hoffman should go to Macha and pull himself from that role with a DL stint or a "work on something with Peterson" angle so Macha doesn't have to make that decision.

Briggs nailed it. Nicely done. I really liked what I saw from Estrada today. He threw much harder than expected, I was expecting 88-90 and he was 90-92 and touched 93 once and showed a really good changeup.
